Chapter 195 Head-on Confrontation
"Clearing up the family? I think you know that I came back safely and didn't become your scapegoat, so you came to silence me!"
Ripple retorted sarcastically.
"If you didn't betray us, how do you explain your return alive? The Japanese would rather kill someone by mistake than let him go!"
Irene said, hugging her arms.
"I have to thank you for your arrangement. In order to save their lives, the gang directly pointed out the colleague who led their actions. That colleague died in Fuyun Building before he could betray me. The third body carried out that day was his."
Ripple said sarcastically.
"You killed him!"
Yilin said hatefully.
"Instructor Yilin, you flatter me too much. With my skills, I can't kill anyone. The most I can do is attract everyone's attention to facilitate your action. Besides, I have never seen this so-called colleague before. You didn't tell me which one of those thugs was my companion before you took action!"
After hearing this, Yilin's eyes flashed. The task she gave to that male colleague was to kill Wu Lianyi in the chaos, and then find a chance to escape. As a result, Lianyi survived, but the other party died. However, she would not admit it now.
"How do you prove that you haven't betrayed me?"
"Then how do you prove that I betrayed you? My background is very clean, and Principal Wu vouched for me in the name of the school, so I was able to leave there alive and escape death.
But my leaving alive doesn't mean that Japan has eliminated its suspicion of me. When you found me, didn't you find that there were people around to monitor me? "
When Lianyi said this, he simply put away the pistol he used for self-defense, stood with his arms folded and spoke.
Yilin and Adjutant Wei looked at each other with their eyes flashing. When they sneaked in just now, they did find some suspicious people, but they were eager to confirm why Lianyi was able to come back alive, so they avoided those people and came in.
"You are the Japanese military's bait for us!"
Yilin felt that she had underestimated this delicate girl who ranked last in the training.
"Don't take yourself so seriously. If I really wanted to do that, I wouldn't have shot with a silenced pistol just now."
"You're trying to play the long game and catch the big fish!"
Irene continued.
"I'm too lazy to talk to you."
Lianyi glared at the other person, then pulled out a piece of paper from under the lamp, folded it in front of the two of them, and handed it to Adjutant Wei.
Seeing the other party hesitate, she rolled her eyes and said:
"This is a floor plan of the Japanese headquarters, as well as the locations of their sentry posts. I only drew the structure of the first floor from memory. As for the layout of the second and third floors, I can't do anything about it."
Adjutant Wei was a little surprised. He didn't expect to have an unexpected gain.
"How do we know that the information you gave us is true?"
Yilin spoke again.
"I don't believe you don't have people in Japan. Since you don't believe my intelligence, then find someone to verify it!"
Lianyi said very simply.
“.”
Adjutant Wei did not respond. After Lianyi finished scolding Yilin, she turned to Adjutant Wei and said:
"Adjutant Wei, since Instructor Yilin has a prejudice against me, I want to change the contact person. I am afraid that she will take credit for my work and then plot to send me to my death again."
"Well, okay, we will verify the authenticity of the intelligence. You will temporarily enter a sleeping state. In order to eliminate Japan's suspicion, you will not be assigned any tasks in the near future. Wait for my notification."
"Yes, Adjutant Wei!"
Adjutant Wei winked at Yilin, then signaled Lianyi to turn off the lights. After the room darkened and their eyes adjusted to the darkness, they jumped out of the back window and left Lianyi's residence.
A quarter of an hour after the two of them left, another person knocked on Lianyi's door. The man in plain clothes came in, looked around, and found the bloodstains under the window. He frowned and asked:
"You guys had a conflict?"
"Yes, they came to clean me up, but I didn't just sit there and wait for death. I fought back strongly and told them that although I was released, I was still under suspicion and was under surveillance. Then I tricked them into leaving first."
Ripple explained softly.
"Did they give you any new tasks?"
"Instructor Yilin said that they would not activate me until I was cleared of suspicion. They asked me to sleep for the time being and wait for the results of the investigation."
Lianyi did not hide anything and spoke directly.
"Who is the other person coming with Yilin?"
The man continued to ask.
"It's the first time I've seen her. Yilin calls him adjutant."
"Very good. We will continue to monitor you for a while. Once the news of this incident has died down, we will remove the people and help you regain their trust."
"Okay, I understand!"
The man seemed very satisfied with Lianyi's ability to understand the situation. He took out two small yellow croakers from his pocket and threw them on the table.
"This is your deposit!"
Then he turned and left the room.
After the people left, Lianyi curled her lips, hid the gold bar behind the bedpost, and then went to sleep peacefully. She had not gotten a good rest these past few days because of the fear she had been experiencing.
On the other side, Yilin and Adjutant Wei wandered around outside for half the night, and only returned to the temporary contact point after making sure that they were not being followed.
After helping Yilin with a simple bandage, Adjutant Wei took out the folded paper and said as he unfolded it:
"Luckily, Lianyi's shooting skills are average, and it was in the dark, so he lost his aim. Your arm was only scratched. If we had met those with better results, we would probably have been injured."
"I don't know where she got so much resentment from that she actually dared to shoot at us."
Yilin said very dissatisfiedly.
"She was forcibly recruited by us. You used her as a discarded pawn on the first mission. If it were me, I would be angry too."
Adjutant Wei looked at the drawing in his hand carefully and said jokingly.
".Anyway, her suspicion has not been cleared, so don't use her for the time being."
Yilin still insisted.
"Okay, I'll listen to you. You take a rest first. We will leave the city after dark tomorrow. At least we have to verify the authenticity of this blueprint."
After the two returned to the training base, when the drawings were placed in front of Instructor Jiang, he frowned. Based on his intuition, he felt that the drawings were real.
"Instructor Jiang, because I'm not sure about the authenticity of the information, and Teacher Wu is under Japanese surveillance, I put her into a sleeping state. If it's not necessary, don't activate her for the time being."
Adjutant Wei directly stated his approach.
"When you persuaded Teacher Wu to join our special operations team that day, I remember you showed her the information of some people on the assassination list.
If she could draw a floor plan based on the three days she spent at the Japanese headquarters, then remembering the names of the assassination targets would be a piece of cake for her. "
Instructor Jiang's words are very jumpy.
Instructor Wei reacted for a moment and understood what his superior meant.
And Yilin said with a smile on her face:
"If all the Japanese officers Lianyi saw were protected, it would prove that she betrayed us!"
"Then will the decapitation plan continue?"
