Chapter 292: Temple Rainy Night 1

Wen Lu and another guard leader looked at the bald monk with vigilance. They had encountered all kinds of ambushes along the way, and the other party's initiative to show goodwill made them instinctively feel that there was something wrong.

Not to mention Manager Li and Mrs. Li, the two of them were eager to travel overnight since they were not far from the capital.

Lianyi sat in the carriage. She just raised her hand to lift a corner of the curtain, glanced at the little monk, her beautiful eyes moved, and she smiled and said:

"Sorry to bother you, Master. Thank you for arranging accommodation for us. I will donate some money to express my gratitude."

When the little monk heard this, his eyes immediately lit up, and then he smiled. After bowing, he raised his hand in a gesture of invitation, preparing to take Lianyi and his party into the temple to rest for a while.

At this moment, something in Chu Liangchen's arms moved, rolled around in his arms, and then scratched Liang Chen's chest with its claws.

Chu Liangchen frowned, and when Xiao Hui in his arms did the same thing again, he immediately leaned back and reported:

"Miss, there is a team of fast horses coming in our direction. I don't know if they are coming for us. Xiao Hui is very uneasy and urged me to leave quickly."

"Let's go to the temple first and see what their purpose is."

Lian Yi ordered calmly.

With the master's order, the remaining four members of the Li family had no choice but to follow behind and enter the temple, and the temple gate was closed again, keeping all the disturbances out.

"Amitabha! Buddhism is a pure land, and killing is prohibited. Please do not slaughter animals in the temple. If you want to make vegetarian food, you can use the small kitchen behind the meditation room. There is also a well there."

The young monk briefly introduced the accommodation environment, put his hands together, performed a Buddhist salute, and left.

Luo Ying and Luo Huai supported Lianyi and entered a relatively clean meditation room, changed the bedding on the bamboo bed, fetched water for their young lady to wash, and then had a vegetarian meal like everyone else.

Lianyi then changed her clothes into a short-collared top with a white background and blue flowers, and a pleated skirt of the same color. Her black hair was tied into a half bun with an ebony hairpin inserted in it, and the rest of her hair was casually let down. She took Luo Ying to meet the master chef of the temple.

The young monk was doing evening prayers, beating the wooden fish and chanting sutras, when he heard a pleasant voice:

"Young Master, please tell him that I am here to meet your Master."

The little monk immediately opened his eyes, put down the gavel in his hand, and turned to look at the person who spoke.

He could tell that the voice was the voice of the woman who had been sitting in the carriage before. He stared at her intently and murmured:

"Donor, you are so beautiful! Like a flying goddess!"

Lian Yi pursed her lips and smiled:

"It's just a shell. I'm sorry to make you laugh, little master."

"Jiekong, why don't you invite the female donor in!"

A majestic and deep voice came from the hall, waking up the little monk.

Jie Kong came back to his senses and, without feeling embarrassed, bowed with a smile and led Lianyi into the hall. Luo Ying was left outside.

"Miss, I'd better go in with you!"

Luo Ying was worried about Lian Yi being alone with others. In her eyes, her young lady was kind and weak, and she selectively forgot about her extremely high fighting ability.

"It's okay. You stay here with Master Jiekong. I'll come out after a few words with the master."

"Yes, Miss!"

Luo Ying would not disobey her own lady, so she handed the purse containing the incense money to Lianyi.

"Luo Ying is waiting for the young lady outside the palace."

Lianyi nodded, took the purse, and stepped into the hall.

Only the Tathagata Buddha was enshrined in the main hall. A white-bearded monk wearing a grey robe stood up and said:

"Amitabha! I am Haina, a poor monk, and I am honored to meet this female Bodhisattva."

"Master, you are too polite. I am not worthy of being called a female bodhisattva."

Lianyi also clasped her hands together and returned the greeting.

The old monk then raised his head and looked at the bright and graceful woman in front of him. He asked her to sit on a worn-out cushion and went straight to the point:

"Amitabha! I invite the female Bodhisattva to come to the temple to rest for a while. I have something to ask for."

Lianyi sat cross-legged, stroking the embroidery on her pleated skirt, and asked with a faint smile:

"Master, please tell me. If I can do it, I will do my best."

Haina took out a gray handkerchief from his arms and when he opened it, he saw a bracelet inside, which was actually made of twelve Buddha relics.

Lian Yi looked at the other party curiously and said with a smile:

"This is the most precious treasure of your Buddhist family. It is worshipped before the Buddha all year round and is worshipped by people. Master, you took out such a precious thing. What do you want my daughter to do with it?"

"I can lend this item to the female Bodhisattva to help you. I only ask you to protect this temple and return the relic bracelet after eliminating the evil."

"Master, since you know there is evil, why don't you take action yourself?"

Ripple asked, tilting her head.

“I’m sorry to make you laugh, female Bodhisattva. It’s not that I don’t want to take action, but Buddhism is in decline and there are no incense offerings. I have a shallow cultivation base and am no match for that thing. That’s why I resorted to this desperate measure.

I see that the female Bodhisattva practices the orthodox Taoist method and has merits, so I made this suggestion. Only female Bodhisattvas can use the relic bracelet."

The old monk explained it very clearly.

"The master is able to bend and stretch, which is a great wisdom."

Lianyi no longer hid her feelings. She waved and took the relic bracelet into her hand. She moved the beads with her jade fingers, felt them carefully, smiled with satisfaction, and then put it directly on her wrist.

"Master, I accept your proposal! As the saying goes: take money from others and help them get rid of their misfortunes. Master, please come with me!"

After Lianyi finished speaking, she stood up and walked out of the hall, and Haina followed behind her.

Luo Ying and the little monk who were waiting outside immediately stood up and followed their respective masters towards the temple gate.

Luo Ying glanced at the young monk Jiekong, then looked at her own young lady, a little confused, but still followed closely behind.

On the way, I met Wen Lu and his men. They were about to leave the temple. When they saw Lian Yi, they immediately took two steps forward and said:

"There is a group of people coming this way, about fifty people, and they are not friendly. I am about to take people out to check it out."

Wen Lu's face looked a little heavy. This time, she met the most people along the way. It seemed that the patience of the person behind the scenes had been worn out, so they sent so many people this time. It was self-evident what their plan was.

"No need! You go back and rest. This is Master Haina's territory. He will handle it."

Ripple waved her hand.

Wen Lu hesitated and looked at Lianyi. After getting a positive answer from the other party, she led her people back to the meditation room in the backyard.

"Amitabha! The female Bodhisattva has lifted me up!"

"Let's go! Let's go see who this person is!"

The little monk actively opened the paint-chipped door. Lianyi and Haina stepped out of the door. Luo Ying and the little monk also wanted to go out to watch the fun. However, a gust of wind blew and the door closed, leaving the two inside the temple.

"Little monk, is your master powerful?"

"Donor lady, is your young lady powerful?"

The little monk and Luo Ying asked each other at the same time.
