Chapter 255: Homecoming (5)

Chapter 255: Homecoming (5)

“Drip—drip—”

The sound of the heart recorder beating rang out, and Li's father and mother came in from outside. They saw Han Zhiyao kneeling on the ground, lying beside Li Ziyan's bed, while Li Zihan was lying on the side with a frown on his face.

The two people's eyes were red. They wiped their tears and walked to the bedside. "Zhiyao, child, get up and go to bed."

Han Zhiyao frowned, as if he hadn't slept well even in his dream. His eyelashes trembled a few times, and he slowly opened his eyes, "Uncle, Auntie..."

"Hey, get up, kid. You've been sleeping like this all night and you must be feeling uncomfortable." Father Li helped Han Zhiyao up. Li Zihan on the other side also sat up. The two looked at each other and said at the same time, "I think I had a dream."

"! I dreamed that Zi Yan could wake up!"

"Me too..." Both of their hands were shaking. Han Zhiyao's eyes were almost red and his mouth was trembling. "It's true, this dream must be true."

Li Zihan also nodded, and the two of them looked at the person lying on the bed, not daring to blink. But the person on the bed was pale and still in deep sleep.

"Why, why hasn't he woken up yet? Didn't I succeed..." Han Zhiyao almost shouted out, but was afraid of disturbing the person on the bed, "How could this be... Why..."

"Maybe it still takes some time. It's okay, he will definitely wake up." Li Zihan didn't know what to do, but now there was no other way except to believe.

Li's father and mother didn't know what the two of them were talking about. They just thought that they couldn't believe that Li Ziyan hadn't woken up yet. They could only sigh together and let the tears flow.

The ward was silent all day long. Han Zhiyao just sat beside Li Ziyan's bed, not saying a word, not eating, not moving, just staring at Li Ziyan's cheek.

"You said you would remember me, and you said you would share everything with me, but why haven't you woken up yet?"

"Is it because I haven't done well enough to make you unhappy? Then wake up and scold me, hit me, punish me, and I'll accept whatever you want until you're happy. Okay?"

"I've already experienced what it's like to lose you, and I don't want to experience it again. Please, wake up, baby. I miss you so much."

"I can't live without you any more. If you don't wake up, I'll go find you."

The only sound in the room was Han Zhiyao's slow humming, telling bit by bit about his feelings for Li Ziyan and the memories of the two of them.

The sun set and rose again, and no matter how Li's parents persuaded him, Han Zhiyao was unwilling to leave.

"Wake up, please. It's okay to forget me. My love for you is enough..." Han Zhiyao's tears fell and hit the back of Li Ziyan's hand, turning into a splash of water. He held Li Ziyan's hand, but felt the fingers in his palm move a few times. "Ziyan? Ziyan, you, brother! Doctor!"

Han Zhiyao's legs were weak. He knelt on the ground, held Li Ziyan's fingers, pressed the bed bell, and stared at Li Ziyan's cheek.

Finally, the person lying on the bed's eyelids trembled, his brows furrowed, and he slowly opened his eyes.

“…”

"Zi Yan, the doctor will be here soon. Don't be afraid! Don't be afraid!"

"Who are you?"

Han Zhiyao's movements and expression froze for a moment, but soon returned to normal. He smiled and softened his voice as much as possible, "I'm your future boyfriend."

He lowered his head and put his face in Li Ziyan's hand, and his tears fell into Li Ziyan's palm.

"Isn't he... isn't he my husband?" Li Ziyan was still having a hard time speaking, but one could hear the doting and teasing in his voice. He raised his weak hands and wiped away the tears from Han Zhiyao's eyes, then stroked Han Zhiyao's hair. "Ahem, are you still planning on refusing to pay me? Ahem, no way."

Han Zhiyao was no longer able to react. He raised his head, knelt on the ground, and stared blankly at the person in front of him who had a pale and weak face but eyes full of love. The corners of his mouth twitched, and finally turned into an unbridled cry.

Outside the door, Li Zihan looked at Li Ziyan who had woken up. His expression changed again and again, with tears and laughter. Finally, he knelt on the ground, covered his face with his hands, and broke down in tears.

Li Ziyan comforted Han Zhiyao beside him and looked towards the door. He saw his familiar family members and tears fell from his eyes. "Dad, Mom, brother, I'm back."

After being wheeled into the examination room and undergoing a series of physical examinations, Li Ziyan was finally sent back to the general ward. The doctors were also shocked by this. After all, what they had said was just to comfort Li Ziyan's family. The chances of him waking up were really too small.

But Li Ziyan woke up when they were about to give up. Even the blood clots in his brain dissipated a lot, and his organs were recovering rapidly.

They had no way to explain this with technology and could only think that Li Ziyan was a miracle.

This was indeed a miracle, but this miracle was given to him by Han Zhiyao. Li Ziyan listened to the doctor's words, chuckled, and looked at the people around him, not hiding the emotions in his eyes.

Han Zhiyao lowered his head and met Li Ziyan's dependent eyes and sweet smile. He also smiled, lowered his head, and kissed Li Ziyan's cheek.

The people around them were no longer surprised. Li Ziyan's parents had long since stopped objecting to his sexual orientation, and having learned from Li Zihan the truth about his awakening, they felt nothing but satisfaction and gratitude towards Han Zhiyao. Now, watching the young couple being intimate, they felt only relief and heartache.

"The patient is recovering very well. He'll need rehabilitation during this period and will be discharged in about a month." The doctor was in a good mood. After all, who wouldn't want a few more miracles and fewer separations in this world? "You're so lucky, young man! Surviving a disaster will surely bring you good fortune in the future. Live well!"

"Well, thank you, doctor."

The doctors and nurses left, leaving space for the family. Li Ziyan looked at his elderly parents, his nose felt sore, and tears and sounds came out together.

"Dad, Mom, I'm sorry..."

"Son, don't say that. It's Mom and Dad's fault." Father Li reached out his hand, wanting to touch Li Ziyan's head, but was afraid of hurting him with his heavy hand. He could only touch Li Ziyan's hair lightly, a smile of relief and self-blame on his face. "Yanyan, are you willing to forgive Dad and Mom?"

Li Ziyan couldn't describe how he felt. At first, he thought he was abandoned by the whole world and that his beloved parents didn't want him either. But when everything became clear, he realized that both sides had such illusions just because of some unspeakable generation gap and misunderstandings. He still cared about his parents, and his parents still loved him.

"Dad, Mom, I don't blame you."

Han Zhiyao gave up his seat to Li's father, and watched the inferiority, vigilance and sadness that once appeared on Li Ziyan's face disappear one by one, leaving only gratitude and satisfaction in his heart.
