Chapter 178 Kill Bai Yueguang and Tie Up the Devil's Heart (13)
"What is this gentleman saying? I don't understand." Li Ziyan still had a smile on his face, but his expression was less friendly and more cold, looking a little noble.
This was the first time Li Ziyan had shown such an attitude in front of Jingze, leaving Jingze a bit dazed for a moment. He still held onto Li Ziyan's wrist tightly. Both of them were not ordinary people, and their looks were attractive. Many of the students were already looking in their direction. Jingze took Li Ziyan's wrist and walked all the way to a nearby balcony. He drew the curtains so that no one could see what was happening inside.
"You're pretending not to know me. Am I being too nice to you, making you unclear about who you are?"
"Heh," Li Ziyan chuckled, and fiercely pulled back his wrist. Ignoring the pain from the red mark on his wrist, he looked up at Jingze, "Sir, and I are here alone, aren't you afraid of others misunderstanding us? If someone takes a picture again and misunderstands our relationship, I'm afraid Sir will blame me again."
“…” Jingze didn’t say anything. He stood opposite Li Ziyan and stared at Li Ziyan’s face quietly.
Li Ziyan had a smile on his face as he leaned on the balcony, looking out the window, leaving only his side profile to Jingze. Although he was smiling, his eyes were not smiling, and the smile at the corner of his lips was a bit cold and lonely. One could tell from looking at him that he was not as happy as he seemed.
"Why didn't you contact me these days? Why didn't you come home?"
"I don't think I have any obligation to contact you, right? Mr. Jing, I hope you can also understand the relationship between us. Don't overthink it, don't misunderstand, and don't add too much burden to others for no reason."
The sharp words were similar to when the two of them first met, and even more strained than before. Jingze was stifled for a moment, frowning, and a surge of anger welled up in his heart, but he couldn't let it out.
"Why don't you go back? I remember you didn't have many classes."
"That's not my home. What would I do there? It's not like people can't live in the dormitory." Li Ziyan drank the drink in his cup, put it aside, and rubbed his brows. "Mr. Jing, if you want to ask me to do that kind of thing, just give me a call. Anyway, this is the only value I have in your heart."
"That's not what I meant. I..."
Jingze subconsciously wanted to explain, but Li Ziyan didn't give him a chance, and Su Jianbai didn't give him a chance either.
The curtains blocking the windowsill were pulled open. Jingze closed his mouth and looked at the person who opened the curtains with sharp eyes.
"See Bai?"
"Aze, I've been looking for you. Why haven't you come back for so long?" Su Jianbai smiled. He was wearing a white suit today, which made him look very noble. He looked at Li Ziyan and, whether intentionally or not, flapped his wings a little, becoming a little taller than Li Ziyan. He looked condescending, like a god descending. "Who is this classmate?"
"I'm a member of the school's student union, responsible for answering questions for the seniors and alumni." Li Ziyan spoke before Jingze, explaining his identity. He then met Su Jianbai's gaze without hesitation. His eyes weren't as respectful as his tone suggested; they held a hint of provocation, allowing Su Jianbai to clearly see what he meant. Even though he was a little shorter than the others, he didn't lose the momentum in the slightest.
"I think I've seen you somewhere before." Su Jianbai's expression remained unchanged, but he felt a sense of unease in his heart. Li Ziyan gave him a greater sense of danger than before. "By the way, did you know Aze before?"
"Really? Senior, I think you made a mistake."
"Jianbai, are you getting impatient? Let's go out first." Jingze walked to Su Jianbai and spoke to him but looked at Li Ziyan.
"Well, the principal might need to see you later. Let's go over there first." Su Jianbai nodded and walked a few steps before turning back to look at Li Ziyan. "Classmate, could you please prepare a cup of coffee and bring it over? I'm a little thirsty."
Not to mention that coffee would definitely not be prepared at such a formal celebration, let's just talk about Li Ziyan's identity. He is a representative member of the Student Union, but not a miscellaneous service staff. His role is to welcome guests and answer questions for alumni and seniors who participate in the celebration. He is not here to serve tea or water.
Su Jianbai's words showed that he didn't take Li Ziyan seriously at all, nor did he respect his status.
Li Ziyan smiled and nodded, showing no displeasure or objection. "Of course, please wait a moment, gentlemen."
Jingze wanted to say something after hearing what Su Jianbai said, but he didn't open his mouth.
After saying that, Su Jianbai walked past them and the two of them left. Su Jianbai saw that Li Ziyan didn't look unhappy at all, and couldn't find any fault with him. He thought to himself, turned his head to look at Jingze, and went to the center with him.
The guests invited to the school anniversary celebration were all outstanding alumni, but even these outstanding alumni were divided into different levels. Those seated at the center table were the elite among the alumni, and Jingze was naturally one of them. From his enrollment to graduation and beyond, he had been a prominent figure. Even though his current company was facing some difficulties, his value and contributions to business and society could not be denied.
But Su Jianbai was much inferior. When he entered the school, he just barely made it to the passing score. After entering, his grades were not excellent, let alone outstanding.
Even after graduation, when he thrived in the entertainment industry and gained some fame, the school didn't take his achievements seriously. After all, their university focused more on practical things, and they didn't pay much attention to Su Jianbai, who was full of water and entertainment rather than education.
Su Jianbai was able to come here only because of his status as an alumnus and because he boarded the Jingze ship, so he was greeted respectfully by the school teachers. Otherwise, he wouldn't even be able to get a ticket.
Li Ziyan had always had excellent grades and was well-liked by his teachers and classmates at university. He found a tea room and brewed a cup of hot, fragrant coffee. He returned to the banquet hall with both hands. Jingze and Su Jianbai were standing together, talking to a group of people.
Li Ziyan walked over with the coffee and stood opposite Jingze and Su Jianbai, a short distance away from the crowd. He said softly, "Senior, the coffee is ready."
"Thank you for your hard work, little classmate." Su Jianbai's eyes flashed, and he reached out to take the coffee, but his hand shook as he did so. The cup of coffee was about to spill on him, but Li Ziyan stretched out his hand to block it. The movements between the two were too fast, and Su Jianbai's wings were blocking it, so even Jingze couldn't see the movements clearly.
A cup of boiling hot coffee was spilled all over Li Ziyan's exposed hand, which soon left a large red mark and a few small bubbles.
The teacup fell to the ground with a crisp sound. Li Ziyan stretched out his wrist without moving, and said with red eyes, "I'm sorry, senior, this is all my fault, please don't be angry."
