Chapter 233: Using Green Tea to Defeat Green Tea, Falling in Love with the Warlord (12)
At noon, Li Ziyan was woken up by Chunmei and had some lunch. He stayed in his room and did not go out. It was not until the sky began to darken and the sound of a car parking outside the door came that Li Ziyan stood up from the bed, put on her high heels, opened the door and walked out.
"Madam, Miss Sun," Li Ziyan first greeted the two of them, then suppressed the smile on the corner of his lips, walked forward a few steps, and stopped.
"Grandma," Han Zhiyao was still holding a few bags in his hands, and Adjutant Liu behind him was also holding a box, which he handed to Chunmei. Han Zhiyao walked to Li Ziyan, raised his hand to touch Li Ziyan's hair, and said softly, "I'm back."
"Um……"
"Hehe, don't you hate shopping the most? Why did you bring anything back?" Old Mrs. Han looked at the things in Han Zhiyao's hand and walked over with Sun Qianying's arm in arm.
Han Zhiyao's expression remained unchanged. He handed the things in his hand to Chunmei and asked her to take them to Li Ziyan's room. Then he smiled at Old Lady Han and Sun Qianying, who both looked unhappy. "Ziyan didn't bring any clothes with him. I saw some nice ones on the way back, so I bought a few. Grandma, this is the shawl I bought for you. Take a look and see if it looks good on you."
It was no wonder he was so considerate and tactful. He was afraid that Mrs. Han would get angry and argue, so he bought something for her. Sure enough, Mrs. Han had no way of venting her dissatisfaction on Li Ziyan. She could only suppress her emotions and said, "Okay, let's eat now that we're back."
"Old lady, Marshal, Miss Li..., I won't bother you any more." Adjutant Liu saluted everyone and left the Marshal's Mansion after getting Han Zhiyao's approval.
It’s not that Han Zhiyao didn’t want to invite him to dinner, but he had a little Shitou at home, and he couldn’t let the little Shitou go hungry.
Han Zhiyao first helped the old lady sit in the main seat, then came to Li Ziyan, took his wrist, and let him sit next to him.
And no matter how jealous Sun Qianying was, she could only sit opposite the two of them.
Because there were guests at home today, the food was much more refined than usual, and the variety was more complete. Sun Qianying wasn't a native northerner; her family's ancestral home was in Sichuan, and their tastes were heavier. Compared to Han Zhiyao and his family, they preferred spicy food, so the chef prepared some Sichuan dishes.
"Brother Zhiyao, you've been tired all day, eat more," Sun Qianying said with a sweet smile. She picked up the serving chopsticks and handed a piece of fish to Han Zhiyao. "This boiled fish is very authentic. Brother Zhiyao, try it."
Old Mrs. Han was quite satisfied with Sun Qianying's concern for Han Zhiyao, but she looked at the piece of fish with chili in Han Zhiyao's bowl and seemed to be hesitant to speak.
Han Zhiyao frowned. Although he had no feelings for Sun Qianying, he couldn't just throw this piece of fish away. He had already given Sun Qianying face this morning, and if he did the same now, the old lady would probably be unhappy.
He was struggling with this when a pair of chopsticks reached out from the side and picked up the piece of fish covered in oil and chili peppers, taking away the rice that was stuck on it. Li Ziyan smiled at Han Zhiyao, picked up the serving chopsticks, and picked up a piece of blanched choy sum.
"Miss Sun, Zhiyao has a light taste and will get a stomachache if he eats spicy food. Why don't you give me this piece of fish?" Li Ziyan smiled gently and his voice was soft. What's more, Sun Qianying was a little too smart for her own good, so she could only blush and nod.
The old lady's eyes were filled with mixed emotions. After all, she thought Li Ziyan was just playing along, but she didn't expect him to be so caring towards Han Zhiyao. She looked at Han Zhiyao, and sure enough, her brows relaxed, and she almost wrote happiness on her face.
Others may not know this, but Han Zhiyao was raised by her, so it's impossible for her not to understand. Han Zhiyao appears casual, but in reality, he has many little rules. If someone he doesn't know well offers him food, he won't even pick up his chopsticks. But not only did he eat what Li Ziyan offered him, he even served Li Ziyan himself.
The old lady's heart sank and she sighed secretly.
After dinner, a few people chatted for a few minutes in the living room. Seeing that it was getting late and the old lady was tired, Han Zhiyao took her into the room to rest.
Only Sun Qianying, Li Ziyan, and a few maids were left in the living room.
"My sister must have been exhausted this morning, so she didn't come out of her room. I didn't even have a chance to chat with you."
"I'm really tired after all these days of running around. I'm sorry to have offended Miss Sun."
"Sister, what are you talking about?" Sun Qianying sat down next to Li Ziyan, looking at his slender legs and delicate face. She felt a pang of sadness in her heart, but she still smiled. "I haven't chatted with you, so I don't know where you are from."
"A native of the capital."
"I heard from Brother Zhiyao that something unexpected happened in my sister's family. What happened?"
Li Ziyan glanced at Sun Qianying and took the hot milk that Chunmei handed to him with both hands. "It was just a little accident."
"A small accident?" Sun Qianying wanted to ask more, but footsteps were heard upstairs.
Both of them looked up and saw Han Zhiyao.
"It's getting late, Chunrui, take Miss Sun to rest." Han Zhiyao helped Li Ziyan stand up and held his hand, "Ziyan, I'll take you back to rest."
"Well, good night, Miss Sun."
"……good evening."
Sun Qianying looked at the backs of the two people walking together without moving. She wanted to wait for Han Zhiyao to come down before talking to him, but she saw Han Zhiyao enter Li Ziyan's room.
The girl's heart trembled, she bit her lips, her face pale, and finally went upstairs.
"Are you very tired?" Han Zhiyao smiled as he looked at Li Ziyan who was relieved, but there was joy in his eyes.
"It's more tiring than performing an opera." Li Ziyan shook his head and glanced at Han Zhiyao in a reproachful manner. Who would have thought that a grown man like him would want to stage a family feud and fight with a little girl? "Is everything going well? Are you in any danger?"
"I've already arranged it. The driver vomited a lot today." Han Zhiyao unbuttoned his shirt and sat on a chair, a look of fatigue and worry between his brows. "He's not a professional spy, he's just greedy for money. He leaked a lot of information, including my schedule and some people around me. But it's not a particularly important matter."
Li Ziyan also frowned, walked to Han Zhiyao, and rubbed Han Zhiyao's shoulders, "Will it be bad for you?"
"Not for now. I've already told Adjutant Liu that there are ways to deal with them. Don't worry." Han Zhiyao raised his hand and placed it on the back of Li Ziyan's hand. Li Ziyan froze for a moment, but didn't take it away. "I bought you some new clothes. Do you want to try them on?"
"New clothes?"
Han Zhiyao stood up from the stool and took out the contents of the bag. There were several skirts, dresses, and small dresses. "I made these for you a few days ago and just got them back today. Do you want to try them on and let me see if they fit you well and look good?"
Han Zhiyao was joking. He knew that Li Ziyan was shy and would definitely blush. He loved seeing Li Ziyan's shy look.
Just as he thought, Li Ziyan's ears and cheeks were red, and he couldn't speak. Just when Han Zhiyao wanted to speak, Li Ziyan nodded.
"Um."
Her white and slender fingers unbuttoned the collar of her cheongsam, revealing her snow-white chest.
Li Ziyan lowered his head and did not see Han Zhiyao's eyes darken for a moment and his chest rise and fall violently.
