Yi Mu discovered that he was always in an awkward situation when he encountered Zong Ao.
Zong Ao stopped talking, and Yi Mu hurriedly snatched the phone back from his hand, regretting that he hadn't chosen to sit in the back seat.
The red light flashed, and Zong Ao turned his head to look at the embarrassed and ashamed Yi Mu, a handsome smile tugging at the corner of his mouth: "Aren't you going to explain this to me?"
Yi Mu turned off his phone, sat up straight, and tried to create an atmosphere of calmness.
"You know, this has happened before. As long as there is even the slightest physical contact, it will cause a commotion among the girls."
This is unavoidable. If you find it bothersome, I'll try to avoid you at the next event.
Zong Ao restarted the car, reached for the cigarette pack with his phone, then stopped, as if remembering something.
Then, taking a moment to glance at Yi Mu, he teased him in a joking tone.
"You're acting like a student making a mistake while the teacher is checking their homework. Am I that scary?"
The tone was clearly a joke, and Yi Mu breathed a sigh of relief, fearing that Zong Ao would take it to heart.
"Not all jokes can be accepted. It's good that you don't overthink it. It's just fans making random jokes."
Zong Ao wasn't as serious and earnest as he appeared. He had only been discharged from the military for less than half a year and hadn't completely detached himself from the past yet, which made him seem a bit difficult to get along with.
He smiled but didn't say anything.
At first glance, Yi Mu seems like an ordinary person, but he is actually quite interesting.
I wonder if further exploration will uncover more surprises.
The car drove for a long time, leaving the main urban area, and stopped in front of a secluded alley.
Before getting off the bus, Zong Ao emphasized two points to Yi Mu.
"If the person you're going to meet later asks for your phone number, don't give it to them."
He might have many other demands, but don't agree to any of them; push them all onto me.
Yi Mu was a little dumbfounded. What kind of heinous villain was he about to meet that made him so wary?
He nodded blankly, Zong Ao took out the keys and got out of the car, and the two walked deeper into the alley.
The alleys all looked pretty much the same. Yi Mu followed behind Zong Ao for about twenty minutes before finally stopping in front of a dilapidated door.
Yi Mu looked up and, in front of the door where dust was falling, he could vaguely see four characters on the cracked, very unique plaque: "Divine Strategist, Ingenious Calculation".
The reason "妙" is in quotation marks is because the character is not clearly visible; it looks like both "妙" and "秒".
Zong Ao stood in front of the door and knocked, one knock after another, very patiently.
About three minutes later, a very impatient voice came from inside.
"Who is it! Disturbing my peaceful sleep in broad daylight, how annoying!"
A pair of pale hands with black nail polish opened the door.
Then a withered yellow straw head popped out, first glaring at Zong Ao with annoyance, then its gaze fell on Yi Mu and suddenly straightened up.
"Wow! If you had told me a beauty was coming, I would have just called to make an appointment. I would have welcomed her right away. Come on in!"
Yi Mu was warmly pulled inside by the straw-headed man, and Zong Ao then closed the door.
"Brother Ao, that's not very nice of you."
"You've got a wife but you haven't even brought her to show your buddies. She's really beautiful."
Yi Mu was extremely embarrassed and forcefully pulled his hand back from the man's withered palm.
He dared not look at Zong Ao's face, fearing that he would be as speechless as he was.
He just laughed it off with a helpless look on his face: "You've misunderstood. I'm friends with Brother Zong, and besides, I'm a man."
The straw-headed man stretched his hand upwards, and the pitch-black room was instantly illuminated as if it were daytime.
Unable to adapt, Yi Mu covered his eyes with his hands. After getting used to it, he opened his eyes and was shocked by what he saw.
