Zong Ao pushed the card in front of Liu Rui.
Liu Rui arrogantly brushed the card to the ground, her eyes suddenly filled with tears, making her look pitiful.
"I thought you were different, but I didn't expect you to be such a shallow person. Although I come from a humble background, I am not the kind of person you think I am."
Zong Ao couldn't help but ask, "Since we've known each other, have I ever asked you about your background?"
Liu Rui was taken aback.
"It was you who repeatedly inquired about my family background, my family, and my job."
“You’ve always been the one who cares about your background,” Zong Ao pointed out sharply.
He bluntly stated: "I heard everything you just said, and I am indeed the member of the clan that you believe me to be."
The founder of AS is not my aunt, but my half-sister. I have more than twenty brothers and sisters.
This doesn't even include the old man's illegitimate child. What else would you like to know?
The amount of information was too much; it took Liu Rui two minutes to process it all, leaving her with mixed feelings of joy and worry.
She was overjoyed that she was 100% certain that Zong Ao was a rich young master born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but worried that her image in his heart seemed to have collapsed.
His expression changed several times, but finally settled on a docile one.
She had specifically studied men and knew that men liked submissive women.
"Zong Ao, what I said before was all out of anger. Thank you for never looking down on me. I will not accept this card."
Zong Ao may not have dated many women, but that doesn't mean he has low emotional intelligence.
He saw right through Liu Rui's thoughts. He picked up the keys on the table and tossed them up and down as he had done before, his eyes no longer showing any expectation.
"Whether you accept this card or not, we'll never have another chance."
He didn't even say goodbye, he turned and left without looking back.
After he left, Liu Rui seemed like a different person, sweeping all the exquisitely crafted soup spoons and rice bowls off the table.
This was the first time someone had so directly slapped her in the face.
If that person wasn't Zong Ao, she would have already... A ruthless glint flashed across Liu Rui's gentle face.
Hearing the noise, the waiter came in, stared at the mess on the floor, and stood to the side with a smile, seemingly unfazed: "Look at this..."
Liu Rui picked up her bag, stood up, and put the cards on the table back into her bag.
He walked up to the waitress with a friendly smile and patted her on the shoulder.
"That person just now was my boyfriend. We had a little argument, understand?"
The service staff member gave a knowing smile: "I understand, sir, what about these things on the floor..."
Liu Rui straightened her back and walked past her with graceful poise. "I will compensate you."
"Okay, take care~"
When Yi Mu woke up, it was already dark outside.
His stomach was growling with hunger, and he groggily made his way to the bathroom.
I washed my face, looked up at the mirror and brushed my hair aside, only to be met with a deathly pale face.
"Holy crap!" Yi Mu was so shocked he almost fainted.
He clutched his chest to catch his breath, then turned to the female ghost with annoyance and growled, "Ma'am, ghosts can scare people to death. Could you at least give me a heads-up next time?"
The female ghost had drooping eyebrows and eyes, looking pitiful.
"Um, I didn't disturb you because you've been sleeping. Do you have anything to eat? I'm starving."
Yi Mu asked incredulously, "You, as a ghost, still feel hungry?"
The female ghost replied matter-of-factly, "Of course, everything in the world has its own way of surviving."
To ascend to immortality, one must drink celestial nectar; we ghosts, no matter how powerful our cultivation, are not immortal.
The studio apartment had a small bathroom to begin with, and having to share a room with a female ghost put Yi Mu under immense pressure.
"Let's get out of here anyway. May I ask what you usually eat?"
"Rat, cockroach, and—"
Yi Mu: "Stop talking!" He was wrong.
