Yi Mu went back to find Guan Shengye, but ran into Zong Ao on the way.
He was wearing a black suit, a white shirt, and a simple black thin tie.
His outfit was very simple, without a single unnecessary decoration, yet he wore it with an air of dashing elegance.
"Why aren't you with Guan Shengye?" Zong Ao handed the pastries in his hand to Yi Mu.
Yi Mu took it and looked around. "He's going to see an elder. Aren't you busy? There are so many people here today."
"There are many people in my family, so I don't need to bother to entertain them."
As the two approached the villa's entrance, Zong Ao asked Yi Mu, "Want to go inside and take a look? Everyone who's been here raves about the house."
There was not a trace of longing for home in his words, as if it were just a famous tourist attraction.
Yi Mu found it strange; who would have such an attitude towards their own home?
He felt that Zong Ao's expression was a bit off, as if he was somewhat sad.
As a friend, you can't knowingly ignore something that's wrong.
Yi Mu said, "This kind of architecture is rare in China. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to go inside and take a look."
The villa was even more opulent inside than outside, and the old man's taste could be described as quite extravagant.
The crystal chandelier is so dazzling it's blinding, with intricate shell-shaped patterns and gold reliefs of flowers and plants.
The wallpaper is mostly light green and pale purple, and heavy silk curtains in a sophisticated burgundy hang by the window.
The entire house was well-lit, with no darkness even in the most obscure corners.
Every piece of furniture is distinctly Western in style; one table leg alone would probably cost more than a typical white-collar worker's monthly salary.
This place is like a money pit; everything here is worth millions.
If you were to really value the entire house, it would probably be worth more than 100 million.
Zong Ao carefully observed Yi Mu's reaction. He seemed to be visiting a museum, showing curiosity about every piece of furniture and decoration, but without any greed in his eyes.
How wonderful! If an ordinary person saw this, they would definitely think, "How wonderful it would be if I could live here."
"Living here, my eyes are going to go blind from all the light. How can you sleep at night?"
Zong Ao was lost in thought when he heard this and couldn't help but laugh out loud: "What are you thinking about? With the curtains in the dark, how could you not be able to sleep? I'll take you to my room to see."
Zong Ao's room is on the top floor, and it is shockingly large. The decoration is mainly dark blue, and the ceiling is a highly realistic LED starry night scene.
Yi Mu stared curiously at the ceiling, while Zong Ao stood behind him, just in time to smell the faint scent of bergamot on him.
He had noticed a pleasant scent on Yi Mu a long time ago, and later went out of his way to find perfume.
Each one is slightly different, but in the end, we found that the closest one is the flavor of bergamot.
Strangely enough, although it was the first time I had met Yi Mu, every time I smelled his scent, I felt a sense of familiarity.
It feels like we met a long time ago.
Zong Ao stroked the remote control in his hand, staring at the dimples on Yi Mu's head, his voice gentler than ever before: "Want to see?"
Yi Mu nodded. Children who grow up in the city rarely have the opportunity to see a clear night sky.
Zong Ao pressed the switch, and the room was plunged into darkness in an instant, while a faint light poured down from above.
In the pale blue night sky, the stars are like sparkling gems, dazzling but not overly so.
Yi Mu stood an arm's length away from Zong Ao, close enough that he could embrace him with just one step forward.
But he knew he couldn't. He liked Guan Shengye, and Guan Shengye cherished him. That was enough.
After today, I'll convince myself to truly let go, maybe until they go abroad.
As long as you control yourself from seeing him or thinking about him, one day, those unforgettable loves will fade away and be buried deep in your heart with the passage of time.
