Yi Mu was much more relaxed than Zong Ao. He felt that Zong Ao looked rather lonely standing alone at the door.
"I thought they sent you an invitation, but they probably missed it. Come in."
Zong Ao thought to himself that it wasn't something he had missed; it was most likely that Guan Shengye, that petty person, had specifically instructed him to do so.
The two entered the elevator, and Zong Ao scrutinized Yi Mu's expression in the mirror reflection.
He showed no signs of sadness; his brows were gentle, and there seemed to be a faint smile at the corners of his mouth.
Guan Shengye has wronged him to this extent, how can he still smile?
He loves Guan Shengye so much that he has to compromise and force himself to put on a brave face.
A fire suddenly ignited in Zong Ao's heart. He grabbed Yi Mu's wrist, his eyes flashing with a cold light.
"You've only been married a short time, and he's already using a surrogate. Don't you feel sad or wronged at all?"
They say pregnancy makes you stupid for three years. Yi Mu was stunned for a moment before she realized what Zong Ao meant.
This is a huge misunderstanding.
He carried the child for ten months and gave birth to him with great difficulty. He loves the child so much that he can't bear to be sad or upset.
"I need to explain this to you slowly. First, let go of my hand."
When the elevator reached the top floor, Zong Ao reluctantly let go of his hand.
His eyes were fixed on Yi Mu's wrist; he hadn't used much force, yet it had turned red.
As the two stepped out of the elevator, they entered a magnificent hall filled with the sounds of clinking glasses and lively conversation. Zong Ao saw many familiar faces.
A familiar face flashed through the crowd. Zong Ao frowned. This woman was heavily made up; it couldn't be her.
The child is with the nanny. There was a group of people crammed into the room before, but they've all left now.
When the nanny saw Yimu come in, she put the child in his arms.
Before leaving, she glanced curiously at Zong Ao, a look of surprise flashing in her eyes, but she quickly concealed it and left the room.
Yi Mu has already learned how to hold the baby, supporting the bottom with one hand and patting the calf with the other.
The full-term baby was unusually energetic, staring at Yimu with wide eyes, reaching out his little paws to touch Yimu's chin, and babbling.
Yi Mu carried the child to Zong Ao, whose expression was stiff and who seemed completely at a loss, and said softly, "This is my son."
Zong Ao didn't pay attention to the meaning behind his words; his attention was entirely focused on the baby in Yi Mu's arms.
This child is a miniature version of Yi Mu, with big eyes, a small mouth, and nose and eyebrows like Guan Shengye. He's incredibly handsome.
"Boy or girl?" Zong Ao couldn't help but reach out and touch the child's cheek.
This child looks very healthy, with rosy cheeks and plump, fleshy cheeks, so he must have a good appetite.
Yi Mu turned his head and glanced at it, a satisfied smile in his eyes.
"Both are boys, fraternal twins, but they look completely different."
Upon hearing this, Zong Ao sensed something was amiss. "How do you know all this so clearly?"
He seemed to be thinking of something, his brows furrowed, and his eyes were filled with hostility.
"He actually brought that woman back to the Guan family to prepare for childbirth. This is outrageous! I have to confront him. I didn't let you go back then so he could humiliate you like this!"
Yi Mu was both amused and exasperated.
In his memory, Zong Ao was always incredibly calm; when did his imagination become so vivid?
He grabbed Zong Ao, who was rolling up his sleeves and ready to fight, and with his ears red, he stammered out the truth.
“This is my son, I…I gave birth to him myself.”
Zong Ao's raised foot hovered in mid-air. He thought he was hallucinating, turned his head, and asked incredulously, "What did you say?"
Emu walked to the crib and placed the baby in his arms next to his brother.
He bent over slightly, gently rocking the crib, his smile a rare tenderness that Zong Ao rarely saw.
"I carried them for ten months and gave birth to them. These two little ones made me suffer for two days."
Zong Ao swallowed hard, feeling an indescribable sense of absurdity.
He walked stiffly, like a fool, to the crib.
