Heavy red velvet curtains blocked out the sunlight, and faint candlelight flickered in the four corners of the room.
A man dressed in a tailcoat butler's uniform and wearing gleaming leather shoes walked to a wooden cabinet.
He opened the wooden cabinet, bowed respectfully, and tapped twice on the exquisitely crafted coffin lid with his fingers.
"Your Highness, it's time for you to get up and go to school."
A moment later, the coffin lid, carved with intricate cross patterns, was removed, and a blond boy opened his eyes.
The boy was handsome and aloof, with pale skin devoid of any color, yet his lips were a deep red. The contrast between the two created a unique and captivating cold beauty.
The boy stepped out of the coffin, yawned softly, and walked barefoot onto the soft carpet towards the outside of the room.
The man chased after him for a few steps, then stood in front of the boy and said humbly, "Your Highness, please allow me to help you button up your shirt."
Yi Mu scrutinized the man's expression. He thought he had concealed it well, but a trace of twisted infatuation still lingered in his eyes.
Disgust flashed in his eyes, but Yi Mu stood still, letting his actions speak for themselves.
The man took a careful breath, reached out, and slowly, pinched the small button, threaded it through the hole, and fastened it.
Before he finished, he went out of his way to straighten Yi Mu's already neat collar.
Finally, as if by accident, her fingers brushed against Yi Mu's earlobe.
Yi Mu clenched his fists tightly, and after the man removed his hand, he frowned and quickly walked out of the room.
After he left, the man, as if possessed, put his finger under his nose and sniffed it deeply, his expression one of ecstasy.
Yi Mu changed into his school uniform and went downstairs, where two girls were already waiting at the dining table.
The two were wearing the same style of school uniform as him, but in a Chanel-style pleated skirt.
Seeing Yi Mu walk to the table, one of the pretty girls said with dissatisfaction, "Why do you always get up so late, making us wait so long?"
The girl beside her tugged at her sleeve and said in a soft, bird-like voice, "Sister, don't talk to the prince like that."
Xian Yangxin rolled her eyes and said impatiently, "What are you afraid of? I'm his fiancée, can't I even complain a little?"
Yi Mu picked up the glass of bright red blood, his brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, closed his eyes, and took a sip.
The strong, bloody taste spread in my mouth; it should have been a nauseating taste, but it was damnably sweet and mellow.
Yi Mu closed his eyes, pretending he was drinking milk.
A vampire's breakfast doesn't include cheese bread and ham and eggs, but only a cup of still-warm blood.
Xian Yangxin's eating manners were not as refined as his.
He picked up the cup and downed it in two gulps, then stuck out his tongue to lick the blood from the corner of his mouth, wiped his mouth with a white handkerchief, picked up his schoolbag, and left without saying goodbye.
Xian Yanglan finished drinking the blood in her cup with a pale face, suppressing the urge to vomit, bowed to Yi Mu, and picked up her schoolbag.
Yi Mu stood up with her, his eyes fixed on her, and turned to give a casual instruction: "From now on, prepare human food for Miss Lan for all three meals."
The butler nodded: "Yes, Your Highness."
A hint of surprise flashed across Xian Yanglan's timid eyes, and she thanked him in a weak voice, "Thank you, brother-in-law."
Yi Mu walked to her side, picked up her schoolbag, and spoke in a voice that was neither cold nor indifferent, but with a hint of warmth in his voice.
"No need to call me brother-in-law so formally, just call me Yimu."
Xian Yanglan shrank her neck and didn't say anything.
She was just a lowly Level C, how dare she address a prince by his full name?
A car was already waiting outside. Xian Yangxin urged the driver to hurry up, as he was going to be late for school.
The driver had a blank expression on his face. Only after Yi Mu came out did he respectfully walk around to the back of the car and open the door.
Yi Mu let Xian Yanglan sit inside first before getting into the car himself.
As the car started, Xian Yangxin chattered incessantly like a quacking duck.
Xian Yanglan tried her best to minimize her already limited presence.
When Yi Mu closed his eyes, he was actually communicating with 998 in his mind.
"How about it?"
998's voice was sleepy, as if he had just woken up.
[That's right, host. You need to cooperate and follow the plot, otherwise your body will become weaker and weaker, and eventually you'll disappear completely from the universe.]
But there's no going back; he's lost interest in women.
Yi Mu's current eagerness for the female lead is all because of 998's warning.
