As soon as he said this, Li Fuzi immediately agreed.
She wasn't really a veteran of the prison; she arrived halfway through and mostly knew things from hearsay about the relationship between Yi Mu and Xiang Qing.
Even though she wasn't a witness to history, she felt she had the right to criticize Yimu.
"Some people are born heartless. They don't repay the kindness they received in the past, and now that they see others in trouble, they just pretend they didn't see it. They are truly ungrateful!"
The woman's voice was high-pitched and, when deliberately amplified, almost impossible to ignore.
Fan Yang glanced at Yi Mu, then maliciously added insult to injury: "This is about you."
Yi Mu, holding a stainless steel bowl, glanced at him indifferently.
Fan Yang's expression immediately became unnatural. He thought of the awkward way he looked when he was controlled by Yi Mu, and reluctantly shut his mouth.
Deng Zhi was afraid of getting into a conflict with the group of people opposite her. Just as she was about to advise Yi Mu to be patient, she saw him stand up and walk towards the group.
Yi Mu vaguely remembered the woman who spoke; she seemed to be Yu Die's dog, always barking at inappropriate times.
Unfortunately, Yu Die was not a good enough mistress, or rather, she deliberately indulged this wretched woman, allowing her to mock Yi Mu from time to time.
However, what Li Fuzi said this time was not without reason. Yi Mu did receive a lot of care from Xiang Qing when he was in prison.
Although he paid for it with his own body, he really should have stepped in to help in this situation.
He had just scooped the instant noodles out of his hand, but hadn't eaten a single bite.
Yi Mu walked up to Xiang Qing and handed him the bowl and chopsticks.
"The warden took good care of me back then, so it's only right that I repay you now. If there's anything inconvenient, please let me know."
Xiang Qing looked up at him with a sly smile on her face.
He raised his arm, his expression pained: "When I was fighting the zombies earlier, I accidentally bumped my hand on the wall, and it hurts even to lift it now."
Yu Die's expression froze as she realized what he meant, and she couldn't help but glare at Yi Mu resentfully.
Just then, Yi Mu looked over and saw clearly her resentful glare, which was out of character for her.
Yi Mu's mood suddenly improved.
Xiang Qing's meaning was clear: her hand hurt, she couldn't eat by herself, and needed someone to feed her.
Yi Mu dragged a stool over and sat down next to Xiang Qing, picking up some noodles and bringing them to his mouth.
The noodles were just taken out of the pot and were still very hot.
Xiang Qing stepped back and cried out that it was hot.
Yi Mu's lips twitched, but he patiently blew on the noodles to cool them down before feeding them to him.
Xiang Qing enjoyed being fed by the beauty, and would say he was thirsty and take a sip of soup every now and then.
The men opposite were stunned; they had never seen their boss act so demanding before.
This is probably another side of men: they're the big brother outside, but at home they become a spoiled little wife.
After feeding the sheep, Yi Mu wanted to leave.
Xiang Qing called out to him, took out two packs of chewing gum from her pocket, handed them to Yi Mu, and smiled very gently.
"I remember you used to like eating this."
Yi Mu used to be a child at heart, thinking that chewing gum was really cool.
On his first day in prison, he was chewing gum and looking at people sideways.
He thought that this would make him look like someone who was not to be trifled with.
In fact, the troublemakers in the prison felt they had been provoked and were eager to give this arrogant kid a good beating.
Xiang Qing found Yi Mu's thinking adorable and never corrected him.
It wasn't until later, when Yi Mu became a prison pet, that everyone told him that chewing gum and looking at people sideways was stupid.
After escaping from the lab, for reasons unknown, when Yi Mu went to the convenience store, he never glanced at the shelf where chewing gum was displayed again.
He has given up what he used to love most.
"Such a good thing, Warden, you should keep it for yourself."
Yi Mu didn't look at Xiang Qing's face, which had lost its smile, and turned back.
Li Fuzi was furious at his appearance and was about to make a sarcastic remark when Yu Die nudged her.
Xiang Qing got up and left, kicking over the stool before he did.
Pan Wu watched his desolate figure as he walked away, and sighed inwardly.
It's truly a cruel twist of fate. If Yi Mu hadn't appeared, Xiang Qing and Yu Die would have gone to the Grand Alliance and would definitely have gotten married soon, forming an alliance with the Yu family's power.
In this apocalyptic world, what is more important than a peaceful life than some fleeting, illusory love?
