Chapter 765 Who is the Infected? (O64)

Yi Mu answered the phone, and Xiang Qing's panting came from the other end; he sounded like he was running.

"Mumu! Fill your travel bag with compressed biscuits, grab your large thermos, and be careful as you go downstairs. I'll be waiting for you at the entrance of the complex. Hurry up!"

Yi Mu's heart skipped a beat, knowing that now was not the time to ask any more questions.

After hanging up the phone, he quickly packed his backpack, grabbed his keys, and ran outside.

He paused at the door, ran to the kitchen, took out a cleaver from the cabinet, weighed it in his hand, and then closed the door and went downstairs.

The apartment complex is a typical residential building with no elevator, so it's quick to go downstairs.

Along the way, I encountered many people running for their lives.

An elderly couple was squeezed into a corner, unable to move forward or backward, and looked very pitiful.

The elderly couple would share whatever delicious dishes they cooked at home, or whatever nice things their son and daughter-in-law brought over, with everyone.

People usually greet the two of them affectionately as Grandpa and Grandma, but at this moment they seemed extremely indifferent, completely oblivious to the plight of the two elderly people.

Seeing the old woman's pale face and her labored breathing, Yi Mu hesitated for a moment, remembering that she seemed to have asthma, before walking over anyway.

The old man supported his wife, his hands trembling with anxiety.

Yimu handed him the backpack and water bottle without saying a word, then bent down and carried the old lady on his back.

The old lady was short and thin, but not heavy. Yi Mu followed the crowd down the street.

Stepping out of the crowded stairwell, the space suddenly became larger and the air circulated better. The old lady's condition improved a little, but she still couldn't stop panting.

Yi Mu saw Xiang Qing at the door; he was tall and easily spotted from anywhere.

Xiang Qing frowned when he saw that there was another person on Yi Mu's back. He strode over through the crowded people.

The old woman clutched her chest, her gasps growing more rapid with each breath.

Yi Mu asked the old man if he had brought the medicine with him.

Things happened so suddenly that the elderly couple's son called and told them to go to the shelter immediately.

In his haste, the old man locked the door and took nothing with him.

Without saying a word, Xiang Qing took the key from the old man, found out where the medicine was, and ran upstairs in a few quick steps.

Yi Mu waited anxiously downstairs, while most of the people in the community had already left by then.

The old man gently patted his wife's chest to comfort her.

Yi Mu looked up at the building and felt that it was too quiet. Apart from the old lady's increasingly heavy breathing, he could not hear anything else.

His heart skipped a beat, and he suddenly realized something, turning his head to look to the side.

There stood two people, two people whom Imu thought were long dead.

Fan Yang had fiery red hair, seemingly more vibrant than the sunset, but his face was icy cold.

Standing next to him was Qi Zhen, whose hair had grown long. His face lacked a fake smile and was cold, making him seem somewhat strange.

They didn't know how long they had been standing there.

Yi Mu believed that they had either escaped the underwater disaster using their special abilities, or they had already died at the bottom of the sea.

I never imagined we'd meet again.

They walked together toward Yimu.

As Yi Mu watched them approach, he hesitated whether to go up and greet them, when suddenly a black pistol appeared in the hands of the two men.

The two men, expressionless, raised their hands, aimed at Yi Mu's forehead, and pulled the trigger.

The incident happened so suddenly that Yi Mu had no time to react and could only watch helplessly as the bullet flew towards him.

In this situation, one can only close their eyes and wait for death.

Yi Mu closed his eyes and suddenly felt a gust of wind pass by him.

He was pulled into a warm embrace, and a familiar scent filled his nostrils.

Yi Mu opened his eyes, and suddenly felt a heavy weight on his body. Gunshots rang out one after another, and his face was splattered with warm blood.

Yi Mu's face was half-stained with blood, and his distorted features made him look somewhat ferocious and terrifying.

Xiang Qing didn't even get a chance to say a word to Yi Mu before being riddled with bullets in his back and collapsing helplessly into Yi Mu's arms.

Yi Mu's hand trembled as he touched his back.

It was all blood, staining his fingernails red.
