Sometimes, once a hypothesis is proposed, there will be countless pieces of evidence to prove it.
The women lowered their voices, as if discussing some extremely important secret.
"So, one time I worked overtime and came home late. I thought I was the only one in the company, but I didn't expect the door to my supervisor's office to be open. I heard some noises inside, but I didn't dare to look and left."
"I overheard Yi Mu making a phone call," an older woman said mysteriously in a low voice.
"The other person was definitely a man, and he had a rather nice voice. Yi Mu smiled at the other end and said, 'You're getting more and more creative.'"
The women were all talking at once, trying to establish a persona for Yi Mu, and had practically come to believe that he was gay.
Regardless of whether they reached a conclusion, they had been away from the table for too long and had to go back.
Overall, the dinner was very enjoyable.
After the meal, Yi Mu also arranged for cars to take his colleagues home.
The group intentionally or unintentionally left the new colleague and Yi Mu together. They lived close by, and it wasn't safe for the girl to take a taxi at night, so they had Yi Mu give her a ride.
The girl remembered their discussion about Yi Mu's sexual orientation in the bathroom and couldn't help but probe, "Yi Mu, what kind of girl do you like?"
Her question was so direct, it was almost like asking if I liked her.
Yi Mu had drunk some alcohol and his mind wasn't very clear. He was stunned for a moment before he came to his senses.
He downplayed the issue by saying, "Girls are all lovely, but I don't have any plans to date at the moment."
The girl believed she was quite attractive, and all the boys her age regarded her as a goddess.
But when it comes to Yi Mu, her charm seems to be blocked by an invisible wall, and she can't release it no matter what.
This infuriated her, and she was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Perhaps it was the alcohol, but the girl was unusually bold. She said sharply, "They all say you like men, so you're not interested in women, is that true?"
Yi Mu's drunkenness vanished completely with shock, and he opened his slightly squinted eyes.
He's been busy and exhausted lately, juggling work and dealing with Igan Kenji's increasingly possessive nature.
My original plan was simply to go home, take a good shower, and sleep after the party, and ideally, take two days off to rest at home.
However, this new female colleague is acting like she's part of the group.
Even though it's after get off work hours, he's still her boss. Does he not want his job?
Yi Mu remained silent.
After a while, the girl realized that her attitude was wrong and was about to apologize when Yi Mu spoke first, "Go to the finance department to collect your salary tomorrow."
The girl stared in astonishment, unable to believe that Yi Mu, known for his fairness, impartiality, and gentle temperament, would make such a decision that blurred the lines between public and private matters.
The car was still slowly moving forward when Yi Mu turned to look at the girl and was amused by the undisguised astonishment on her face.
"You don't actually think I fired you just to shut you up, do you?"
The girl retorted angrily, "Otherwise what?"
Yi Mu smiled. "What makes you think your mediocre abilities are enough to qualify you for a core position in an important department at Yi's headquarters?"
The girl graduated from a prestigious university and doesn't consider herself to be associated with the word "mediocre".
"Stop insulting me!"
Yi Mu spoke casually of her ordinariness.
“I know that you have a relative who is a member of the board of directors of Yishi. Because you have an elder protecting you, you completely disregard your senior colleagues in the same department and even make things difficult for that senior colleague who only knows how to work at the front desk.”
"When it comes to things they don't understand, they never ask their seniors for advice. They just try to push the task onto others. The Yi family hired you not to exude charm, but to pay you a salary. They need to see your equal value."
No one else knew about these things except for the few people who hung out with them regularly.
The girl finally couldn't hold back anymore and begged Yi Mu for forgiveness: "I'm sorry, please forgive me, I didn't mean to."
It was a job arranged by her family, and both the salary and the working environment were top-notch. She didn't want to lose this job.
