Yi Mu discovered Xu Zang, along with a dressed girl beside her.
Yi Mu had never been to Xiliang, but he had read about Xiliang's customs and clothing in books. In addition, there were recent reports in the palace that a delegation from Xiliang had come to Xu Kingdom to pay homage, so he guessed the girl's identity.
Because of his leg injury, he made a gesture of worship towards the Western Liang royal family.
"Greetings, Your Majesty, and Your Highness the Princess."
Raya was impressed by his intelligence; he guessed her identity at a glance.
Xu Zang introduced Yi Mu to La Ya, his senior brother from Fuyang Mountain, who had taken care of him since childhood, given him a lot of help, and was the most special person to him.
Raya always felt that Yimu was extraordinary to Xuzang; his eyes would light up when he talked about Yimu.
Raya didn't want to explore any other parts of the palace; she wanted to see what was special about the courtyard where Imu lived.
The land of Xiliang is covered in yellow sand all year round, and the soil is barren, unlike the Central Plains, which is vast and rich in resources, with gentle water towns and magnificent palaces.
The place where Yi Mu lived was actually Xu Zang's territory, the most luxurious part of the entire palace.
However, after he came in, some of the dazzling and ostentatious gold leaf decorations were covered up and replaced with bamboo curtains and precious flowers and plants.
Raya claimed she wanted to visit the courtyard, but her real intentions were elsewhere.
She tried to find out more about Yi Mu from Xu Zang, and through their conversation, she learned more about him.
Raya could not believe that such a refined gentleman was actually the richest merchant on the continent.
In her memory, merchants were all middle-aged men who wore silk clothes, were pot-bellied, and were as cunning as foxes.
Yi Mu is more like a frail scholar, but unlike those pretentious people who spout classical phrases and moralistic pronouncements, Yi Mu is not like them.
Yi Mu was very cultured, and his voice was pleasant to hear; his words were even more delightful.
Xu Zang noticed the silly grin on Laya's face. She was staring at Yi Mu and clapping her hands in approval no matter what Yi Mu said.
He keenly sensed that his cousin had feelings for Yi Mu.
This made him very uncomfortable, but he couldn't show it.
The conversation ended abruptly, and Xu Zang, without further ado, half-pushed and half-dragged Raya out of the yard.
As soon as the two were out of Yi Mu's sight, Xu Zang warned La Ya not to have any designs on Yi Mu.
Raya wasn't stupid; she could also see that Xuzang had unusual feelings for Yimu.
She wasn't like those weak women from the Central Plains who would burst into tears at a man's scolding.
She knew very well that Xu Zang could not give Yi Mu a future, so she absolutely had to have this person.
“Cousin, it seems that Young Master Yi is unaware of your feelings for him. How about we make a bet to see who he falls in love with first?”
If someone else had said this to Xu Zang, they would probably be thinking about how to kill this ignorant fool right now.
But Raya and he had a deep bond since childhood, and he was unwilling to use extreme measures against his sister.
Xu Zang took a deep breath. "Stop it, Raya. You can have anything you want, except him."
He looked serious, a little gloomy, and his face was rather frightening.
Raya felt a chill run down her spine and stopped confronting him directly. Instead, she waved her hand half-jokingly and said, "Now that you're the emperor, you're becoming less and less fun. You can't take a joke."
Xu Zang smiled again, "Tomorrow is the Mid-Autumn Festival. I've prepared a few handsome men from the Central Plains for you to choose from. If you like one, you can take him back with you. Or, if you fancy a young master, I'll arrange a marriage for you."
Raya smiled but didn't reply.
She has only set her sights on one person and is not going to let go anytime soon. Once she wins over Yi Mu's heart, she won't be afraid that Xu Zang will refuse to let her go.
