Day 1.
The spaceship hopped through space and, in no time, landed on a small island.
They arrived relatively late; there were already special forces from other planets on the island.
There were more than thirty people, densely packed together, crawling and moving like ants.
Everyone disembarked from the spaceship, and the spaceship, without stopping for a moment, departed in an instant after dropping them off.
Their leader, a naturally smiling man of medium height, stood there giving a speech to everyone.
"This competition is very different from previous ones. It lasts for 360 hours, and there are no supplies on the island. We have to find fresh water ourselves..."
The stocky, mountain-like man with ivory clicked his tongue: "Is this a competition, or a survival game on a deserted island?"
The captain's ears were surprisingly sharp. He looked at him, his face devoid of any smile, his seriousness making people tense.
"You're right, this is what island survival is all about, while you also have to be wary of the enemy."
As the captain finished speaking, a cold glint flashed in his eyes.
"Listen, I'm talking about the enemy. Everyone else on this island besides the eight of us is the enemy. You need to be on guard against them while using your weapons to take them out quickly and accurately!"
Yi Mu frowned; it seemed his intuition was accurate.
In normal military competitions, the aim is to stop short of causing serious injury or death.
The captain's serious tone made Yi Mu feel that this trip to the island was far more complicated than the captain made it out to be.
"Everyone, look at your watches now."
Yi Mu looked down and noticed a red dot had appeared on his GPS watch.
"This is a checkpoint on the island. There's a machine inside that has recorded all of your genetic samples. Everyone must go there to check in before midnight every day."
The captain refused to reveal any more information after saying this much.
When on missions, follow the captain's orders.
Even though everyone had their doubts, the captain must have his reasons for not saying anything.
Everyone bent down, tied their shoelaces, and began to gather at the check-in point at the foot of the mountain.
The island has a complex terrain, and they landed on a mountaintop.
To get from the mountaintop to the flat beach at the bottom, one must traverse a considerable area of rugged and dangerous rocky terrain.
Emu is a frequent rock climber, and this small island is only considered of medium difficulty among the mountains he has climbed before.
But Ge Guang and Liangliang were a bit stumped by this terrain.
They are both technical soldiers. Although they train with the troops regularly, the intensity of their training is incomparable to that of special forces.
Climbing a mountain is not about going uphill, it's about going downhill backwards.
Ge Guang is afraid of heights; he feels dizzy just looking down at the ground.
I brought climbing ropes with me this time.
Apart from Liangliang and Ge Guang, the other six people didn't need any help and climbed down with their bare hands.
Yi Mu tied one end of the rope to a pine tree and the other end to Ge Guang.
Ge Guang kept taking deep breaths in place. For people with a fear of heights, rock climbing is simply a death sentence.
Yi Mu patted him on the shoulder, unusually serious.
"It's okay, brother. Don't worry, just keep climbing down. I'll keep an eye on things from up here. If anything goes wrong, I'll pull you up."
Ge Guang glanced at him, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and slowly moved down the edge of the rock.
He didn't go down to Suo Yanghe's side either.
Liangliang was in slightly better condition than Ge Guang, but she was still terrified and turned pale. After several attempts to mentally prepare herself, she slowly slid down the rope.
Ivory, the twins, and the captain waited for Ge Guang and Liangliang to come down from a rock halfway up the mountain.
While waiting for their turn, Yi Mu and Suo Yanghe simultaneously pulled out cigarettes from their pockets.
Imu's lighter was probably lost on the spaceship; he searched his entire body but couldn't find it.
Seeing that Suo Yanghe across from him had lit a cigarette, he quickly leaned over, took two deep sniffs of the smoke, and lit his own.
Suo Yanghe looked at him with a blank expression.
Yi Mu chuckled at him and said, "Can I borrow a light?"
Laughing like a complete idiot, Suo Yanghe turned his head away.
