Everything seemed insignificant as the deadline approached.
Day 3 of the countdown —
"Sister, let me show you something." Xiao Li led Xia Linyin by the hand into the rose garden.
Standing in the center of the sea of flowers, he glanced at Xia Linyin beside him, then slowly raised his right hand. As he moved, petals fluttered up, and the bright petals surrounded him like fluttering butterflies.
Xia Linyin reached out, and soft, delicate petals floated into her palm, and some landed on her head and shoulders.
Xiao Li clenched her five fingers, and all the petals quickly gathered together in an instant, forming a huge rotating sphere.
He suddenly spread his fingers, and the condensed sphere exploded like fireworks, forming the words "I love you".
Seeing the characters formed from flower petals in the air, Xia Linyin's heart skipped a beat.
"Sister, do you love me?" Xiao Li turned around and looked at Xia Linyin, her eyes filled with such deep affection that they could drown a person.
"I..." Xia Linyin opened her mouth; she really should think about this issue seriously.
She had always felt guilty towards Xiao Li, and this guilt even overshadowed her grief and anger when she learned that Xiao Li had pulled her back into the game.
Although I know Xiao Li doesn't need sympathy, after learning about his experiences, I can't help but feel sorry for him and want to be kinder to him.
Moreover, I am extremely indulgent and tolerant of him.
Sometimes when he does something excessive, he feels more helpless than angry.
Previously, she couldn't immediately switch from seeing Xiao Li as her boyfriend, and she saw Xiao Li and Li Luo as the same person. However, after spending time pretending to be a couple, Xiao Li's grown-up appearance became more and more distinct, while the frail boy gradually faded from her memory.
She feels sweet and nervous when Xiao Li touches her; she must love Xiao Li.
A hint of sadness flashed in Xiao Li's eyes. Xia Linyin hesitated. Yes, it had always been him who had been relentlessly closing in on Xia Linyin, giving her no chance to react or catch her breath, cornering her against the wall, and then using selfish vines to entangle her tightly.
But so what? As long as his sister belongs to him, as long as his sister's lips are only for him to kiss, his sister's body is only for him to touch, and his sister's heart is only for him, that's enough.
After leaving the garden, the two snuggled together on the sofa to watch TV. Xiao Li put his arm around Xia Linyin from behind, rested his chin on her shoulder, and occasionally opened his mouth to accept Xia Linyin's feeding.
Xia Linyin held a huge bag of potato chips in her hand, eating them while watching a comedy movie playing on the screen.
Thinking of Xiao Li's dejection in the rose garden because she hadn't answered his question, Xia Linyin suddenly turned to look at him and kissed him on the forehead.
Xiao Li was taken aback by Xia Linyin's focused gaze and unexpected kiss, and then a suspicious blush seemed to appear on her fair ears.
"Are you blushing?"
"No."
“Yes, Xiao Li, your face is red, and the tips of your ears are red too.”
"No."
...
Day 2 of the countdown —
Xia Linyin got up early. After washing up, she came to the bedside, placed her palm on Xiao Li's face, and asked softly, "I'll make you breakfast. What would you like to eat?"
Xiao Li yawned, lazily stretched out her arms, and the next second pressed Xia Linyin down onto the quilt, "Eat you."
"Sweetie, stop fooling around. I'll go make you breakfast."
Xiao Li held Xia Linyin down as she tried to get up, then hugged her and rubbed against her. Xia Linyin giggled as he rubbed against her, "Haha, it tickles so much, get up quickly."
Xiao Li hugged Xia Linyin for a while before reluctantly letting go of her.
Xia Linyin tucked him back into bed and stroked his soft hair. "Sleep a little longer, I'll make it and bring it to you."
...
After placing the fried heart-shaped egg on a plate and putting down the spatula, Xia Linyin was about to make milk when she noticed the fruit knife next to her.
The sharp blade reflected a cold, piercing light. After staring at the fruit knife for a moment, Xia Linyin, as if possessed, took the knife from the knife rack.
The deadline is fast approaching, Xia Linyin thought to herself, as she brandished the knife on her wrist.
"What are you doing, sister!"
The sudden roar brought Xia Linyin back to her senses.
Rushing over, she snatched the fruit knife and hugged Xia Linyin tightly.
"Sister, don't do this. Leave everything to me. I can see you again after I die, but if you die, you're really dead. I can't live without you. It would be a hundred times, a thousand times, ten thousand times more cruel than killing me!"
Xia Linyin stroked his back and comforted him, "I know, I was just testing the sharpness of the knife, I didn't mean to do anything. Be good, breakfast will be ready soon."
"Mmm." Xiao Li lowered her head and kissed Xia Linyin's forehead before letting go of her.
Standing behind Xia Linyin, watching her busy breakfast, Xiao Li's gaze was tender and gentle.
Like invisible threads, they wrapped around Xia Linyin, round and round.
It was a deep and extreme infatuation—infatuation with Xia Linyin's hair, infatuation with Xia Linyin's body, infatuation with Xia Linyin's soul, infatuation with Xia Linyin's aura, infatuation with everything about Xia Linyin.
"I love you."
She moved her lips, silently uttered those three words, and then turned and left the kitchen.
Sandwiches, fried eggs, and hot milk—Xia Linyin glanced at the breakfast she had prepared with satisfaction, picked up the tray, and headed towards her room.
