Chapter 106 Extreme Cold 6

Huge, slippery tentacles were wrapped around the transport pipes, slowly wriggling like intestines, with a large bulge in the middle of the tentacles.

The protruding part was moving as the tentacle's body writhed.

If you didn't know it was a tentacle of a sea monster, you would definitely think it was an anaconda swallowing its food.

The moment Hanova and his team saw the enormous tentacles, they frantically fired bullets at them, creating holes in them.

The foul-smelling digestive juices splattered everywhere, splashing all over the place.

The tentacles wrapped around the pipe slid down a bit due to the attack. Xia Linyin pushed off the ground and slashed at the tentacle with her knife, cutting a huge gash in it.

Amidst spilled digestive fluids, a man covered in blood and gore fell out.

The man was still alive when he fell. He struggled to his feet and looked at his hands, which were covered in slime and corroded to the point where you could see the bone. He opened his mouth and let out a broken wail.

"Ah, ah, ah—" The man twisted his limbs and slowly turned around to look at Xia Linyin and the others.

Xia Linyin couldn't help but gasp; this was definitely the most terrifying and horrifying scene she had ever seen in all the games she had played.

Half of the man's skull had been melted away by digestive fluids, with glistening mucus coating the pitted brain, and his whitish, digested eyeballs embedded in their sunken sockets.

Half of his face was missing skin. Due to uneven digestion, half of his face was riddled with holes like a honeycomb. The area around his mouth was hollowed out, leaving only a little flesh from his lips and pale bone.

Hanova stared in horror at the man groaning in agony before him, while his companion, Maligan, cried out in a trembling voice, "God! It's Billy!"

Billy, holding his right hand which was being digested into a skeletal form, took two difficult steps forward before collapsing to the ground, completely lifeless.

"Ah!!!" Seeing his companion in such a miserable state, Marigan roared and picked up his submachine gun to shoot at the wounded giant tentacle that was trying to escape upwards.

Canton and the captain averted their gaze from Billy's corpse and hurriedly fled the scene. Good heavens! They didn't want to be devoured by the monster.

That's terrifying! This is absolutely terrifying!

John shot at the tentacles as he and Charlene retreated in the direction Canton and the captain had gone.

A suspension bridge with crisscrossing barbed wire spans the air, beneath which are steam engines and motors. A tentacle is wrapped around the machinery, its raised tip tightly enveloping a human leg.

The captain gripped the handrails on both sides of the drawbridge tightly with both hands, and he used one leg to forcefully push against the barbed wire, trying to pull his leg out of the tentacles' grip.

"Canton, come help me!"

Canton stared in horror at the captain being bitten by the tentacles. At the captain's cries for help, he gripped the handrail and shakily took a few steps back.

When Charlene and Trian caught up with Canton and the captain, they saw the captain slowly letting go of the handrails, about to be dragged down by the tentacles.

The two men rushed over, each grabbing one of the captain's arms and pulling him up with all their might.

The captain's eyes were filled with a desire to survive. He tried very hard to pull the leg out from under the barbed wire, but the tentacle was too strong!

Suddenly, the tentacle swung its body violently, and with a "crack," the captain's leg, which was stuck in the barbed wire, broke. Accompanied by a blood-curdling scream, the captain was pulled off the drawbridge by the tentacle, and Charlene and Trian were almost pulled down by the enormous force as well.

John fired a barrage of shots at the tentacles under the bridge, and Hanova and Maligan, who arrived shortly after, also aimed their guns at the tentacles. Under the heavy firepower, the tentacles swung their bodies and dragged the captain away.

"Damn it!" Hanova slammed his hand on the armrest. "What the hell are these things?"

“I’m a little worried about these things now…” Canton took off his glasses. “They could be some kind of weird branch like an octopus.”

He wiped his glasses as he spoke hurriedly, his voice trembling slightly, “At a depth of 4,000 feet, it’s about the length of a pencil, and its body is the size of a golf ball.”

"But at 20,000 feet, it can swallow an adult shark whole, and at 30,000 to 40,000 feet..."

Canton put his clean glasses back on his nose and looked at the curly-haired man. "You do the math."

“This…uh…” the curly-haired man shook his head, “This isn’t good.”

"Are we talking about some kind of mutated sea monster?" Trian asked.

"Who cares what they are, just tell us how to take them down!" Hanova said.

“The sea monsters are cunning. They hide in the shadows and use their spiky tentacles to catch their prey, and then they…” Canton adjusted his glasses, “they put their prey into their mouths.”

Seeing that Canton was out of breath, the curly-haired man continued, "And then you ate them, right?"

"No, they drank it. They sucked you dry, drained all the fluid from your body, and then spat out your bones..."

A sudden scream interrupted Canton's chilling words, and a tentacle that appeared out of nowhere wrapped around Maligan with lightning speed.

Caught off guard, Maligan had no chance to resist before the tentacles tightly bound him, and he dropped his submachine gun.

After coiling around Maligan, the tentacles opened their mouths like giant pythons, enveloping Maligan's head and swallowing him from top to bottom.

When it swallowed down to below the shoulders, the tentacles no longer wrapped around Maligan's body. It twisted and turned, swallowing half of Maligan's body, to dodge bullets.

Marigan kicked and struggled, seemingly knowing he couldn't escape the tentacles' jaws and not wanting to end up like Billy. He reached into his pocket, pulled out a grenade, and turned it on.

Seconds later, the grenade exploded, flames surged, and Maligan and his tentacles were blown to pieces.

"Oh my God! He's a real tough guy!" The curly-haired man stood up and continued running forward.

Charlene pulled Trian and followed closely behind Canton. Every time the tentacles appeared, Canton was quicker than anyone else to run away. However, perhaps because he rarely exercised, he was not very fast and was caught up by Charlene and the others in no time.

Canton cried out in alarm and stopped in his tracks, grabbing the railing. Below the railing lay a field of corpses, piled high with the skeletons spat out by the sea monster.

A scene resembling purgatory.

The curly-haired man who rushed in looked at the skeleton below and opened his mouth, "God! Have we stumbled into a monster's lair?"

"Hurry up." With her heart pounding anxiously, Xia Linyin glanced down and quickly led Trian back.
