They hadn't taken more than a few steps when suddenly there was a loud "bang," and seawater surged in, sweeping Xia Linyin and Trian into two different passageways.
"Trian!" Charlene called out as she swam out of the water. She wanted to go find Trian, but the waves were surging and five or six tentacles rushed towards her from the passageway!
Charlene had no choice but to turn and run forward. She, Hanova, and the curly-haired man were swept into this passageway, while Trian, John, and Canton were in the other passageway.
Fortunately, John and Trian are together; he will definitely protect Trian.
The icy seawater had risen to their thighs. Hanova took the lead and ran ahead, with Charlene and the curly-haired man following behind him.
The resistance of the seawater made it very difficult for everyone to run.
The sound of water behind us grew closer and closer, surging and powerful.
"Did you hear that? They're coming!" the curly-haired man exclaimed anxiously, patting his pocket. "Where's my gun? Where's my gun?"
Hanova pulled out two grenades. He turned around, and the curly-haired man, who was frantically rummaging in his pocket for a gun, snatched one of the grenades from Hanova's hand. "They're here! Give me one!"
The curly-haired man threw the grenade forcefully, but it didn't explode.
"You idiot!" Hanova couldn't help but curse as he twisted the pin on a grenade and threw the beeping grenade at the tentacles.
"You didn't tell me how to use it!" the curly-haired man said guiltily.
A deafening explosion rang out, splashing water everywhere!
However, one grenade was far from enough to deal with five or six thick tentacles. Before long, the tentacles, like roaring pythons, caught up with them again.
"They're here! We need to find a way to slow them down!" the curly-haired man shouted. "They're here!"
Xia Linyin really wanted to stuff something into the curly-haired man's incessantly chattering mouth.
She wasn't initially that nervous, but with the curly-haired man's repeated reminders, her heart started to leap into her throat.
Hanova replied, "The only thing is to find something to feed them!"
"Find something to feed them?" The curly-haired man looked down and patted his pocket. "I only have a wet piece of gum and a mint breath freshener."
The curly-haired man asked Hanova anxiously, "What are we going to feed them? What are we going to feed them?"
"Bang!" "Bang!" Two gunshots rang out.
A sharp pain shot through her leg, and Xia Linyin looked at Hanova's back in shock.
"Ouch!" the curly-haired man screamed in agony, his face contorted in pain. "That bastard! He actually fed us to the sea monster!"
Looking back, his eyes widened in horror. He quickened his pace, limping forward a few steps before the curly-haired man nearly fell into the sea. "What do we do? What do we do? We're doomed!"
The tentacles opened their mouths, and facing the hideous maws so close at hand, Xia Linyin raised her knife and slashed down fiercely. The sharp blade flashed, splitting the seawater in two and creating waves several meters high that slammed heavily onto the tentacles.
The curly-haired man's eyes suddenly lit up. He was pleasantly surprised to find a narrow entrance on the right side of the corridor. After squeezing through the entrance, he shouted to Xia Linyin, "Quick! Come in here!"
Xia Linyin grabbed the outstretched hand of the curly-haired man, who then pulled her inside with a forceful pull.
The tentacle's open mouth bit empty, and it swung its body, rushing towards the entrance.
Almost simultaneously, the iron gate at the entrance slammed shut, and the tentacle slammed against it.
The two crawled quickly forward through the narrow, damp pipe, blood dripping onto it and leaving a crimson trail behind them.
The bullet was embedded in his flesh, and any movement caused excruciating pain. Perhaps trying to distract himself from his leg, or perhaps because he was always too talkative, the curly-haired man couldn't help but start babbling again.
"My name is Joey, what's your name?"
"Xia Linyin".
Joey repeated Xia Linyin's name with some difficulty, and said, "God! Things shouldn't be like this. I should be lying in my little bed having sweet dreams, instead of being on this cruise ship with sea monsters."
"It's all those damn mercenaries' fault. I should have guessed it sooner. When I saw the torpedoes in the cargo hold, I should have known they were up to something big."
Xia Linyin, who had been conserving her energy, finally spoke up, "Torpedo?"
"Yes, I thought it was just ordinary cargo. I didn't expect them to have put so many torpedoes on the ship. I didn't know what they were going to do, but now I do."
Xia Linyin looked thoughtful.
Before Xia Linyin could ask why, Joey continued, "They want to rob the Yage cruise ship. These lunatics, if the robbery fails, they're going to blow up the ship."
After climbing out of the pipe, the two found a room to hide in.
Joey's entire trouser leg was stained red with blood. "That bastard! He actually shot at us! We were almost eaten by a sea monster! Oh! My leg really hurts!"
Xia Linyin rummaged through drawers and found a fruit knife, a lighter, a bottle of liquor, and a needle and thread. She sat down on the chair.
She stretched out her leg, heated the back of the knife with a lighter, and then poured the wine onto the fruit knife.
After taking a few deep breaths, Xia Linyin bit down hard on a hard object and reached for the fruit knife.
When the sharp blade pierced the wound, Xia Linyin groaned, the flesh tore open, and dark red blood gushed out.
Xia Linyin struggled to steady her trembling right hand and carefully removed the bullet bit by bit.
"Oh! Oh! Oh!" Joey's face scrunched up; he simply couldn't bear to watch Xia Linyin's actions.
Joey breathed a sigh of relief when the bullet was pulled out.
Sweat beaded on her forehead and trickled into her eyes, but Xia Linyin didn't bother to wipe it away. She put down the fruit knife and used a needle and thread to crookedly stitch up the wound.
After stitching up the wound, she wrapped her thigh with strips of cloth.
After doing all this, Xia Linyin looked up and saw Qiao Yi staring blankly at her. She frowned.
Although Xia Linyin didn't speak, Qiao Yi understood the meaning in her eyes and silently asked him, "Why haven't you made a move yet?"
Joey quickly picked up the fruit knife, cleaned the blood off it, and shook his head, saying, "I can't do it."
He brought the fruit knife close to the wound, and his muscles reflexively tensed, his thigh stiffening. Joey tried several times but couldn't stab it.
Charlene snatched the knife from his hand and shoved it into his mouth. While tending to Joey's wound, Charlene said, "Listen, Joey, I have a plan. Use your ship to ram the cruise ship. There are torpedoes on board. I believe this will blow up both the sea monster and the cruise ship."
