Chapter 147 Twenty-Five Squares 4

There was nothing unusual when she touched the portrait. After touching it, Xia Linyin took it down from the wall.

The once clean and white wall now has nails used to hang portraits. The sharp tips of the long black nails gleam red, as if they were bloodstains left after cleaning.

The long, sharp nail sent chills down my spine; I always felt that it would shoot out of the wall at any moment, pierce my eyeballs, and penetrate my skull, bringing with it fresh brain matter and blood.

Xia Linyin shifted her gaze from the nail to the portrait in her hand. The border was carved with willow leaves, exquisite and vivid, while the back was smooth and flat, without any patterns or textures.

Xia Linyin examined the portrait thoroughly but found nothing unusual.

Aside from its bizarre content, the portrait seemed to have nothing noteworthy about it; however, even with its bizarre content, Xia Linyin was unable to discern anything from it.

Against a black background, she kneels on the ground with her eyes closed, her red dress stained with blood.

Xia Linyin recalled the animated image she had just seen in her mind. Was that a crescent-shaped blade?

If so, who killed her with a crescent-shaped blade?

It's impossible that her crescent blade ended up in the murderer's hands. She could summon and retrieve the crescent blade at any time, so how could it possibly fall into someone else's hands?

If not, then what about her crescent blade?

In the portrait, her hands are empty. When faced with danger, she would inevitably draw her crescent-shaped blade as her weapon.

Xia Linyin sighed heavily and hung the portrait back on the wall.

Without any clues or leads, I was trapped in this corridor like a headless fly.

However, there must be a way out, Xia Linyin firmly believed in this, but she had not yet discovered it. Since it was the last game, it would not be so easy for players to find a way out.

Calm down, calm down, don't panic!

Xia Linyin silently told herself this, and after adjusting her mindset, she took a few steps forward and took down the second portrait.

Exactly the same as the previous portrait, without the slightest difference, she hung the portrait back up and then walked to the third portrait.

The fourth, the fifth, the sixth...

After looking at nearly ten portraits in one go, Xia Linyin stopped, having gained nothing, absolutely nothing.

Her current approach is definitely wrong; the number of portraits is infinite, and she probably won't find anything even if she keeps looking.

But apart from observing the portrait, she didn't know what else she could do or which direction to take.

If she observes a few more pictures, and then observes even more, she might gain something.

Xia Linyin continued forward, and just as she hung up the portrait again and prepared to look at the next one, she noticed that one of the portraits was crooked!

She exclaimed in surprise and quickly walked towards the portrait.

Standing in front of the portrait, which was no different from other portraits except for being hung crookedly, Xia Linyin was puzzled. Why was this portrait crooked?

Xia Linyin glanced at both sides of the corridor, her heart suddenly racing. Could it be...?

Xia Linyin turned and continued walking down the corridor. This time, her gaze was not on the portrait, but on the wall.

She walked quickly, as if she was eager to verify something.

When Xia Linyin saw the dent in the wall, an excited expression appeared on her face. Sure enough, it was true.

This corridor is not actually an endless corridor, but a corridor of reincarnation!

Like being trapped in a maze, she walked to the end of the corridor and then unknowingly returned to the starting point, endlessly repeating the same path.

But sensory perception told her that she was constantly moving forward, and that the road had no end.

She accidentally hung the portrait crookedly while hanging it herself. When she reached the end and returned to the cycle of reincarnation, she walked the same path again, and that's how she saw the portrait she had hung crookedly.

If seeing the distorted portrait was just a guess, then when she saw the dent she made with the handle of her knife, she confirmed her guess, and she returned to the same place as if she had encountered a ghost wall.

Actually, she should have noticed this much earlier, because she had passed by the dent before seeing the distorted portrait.

However, she had been focused on the portrait and the hallway was dimly lit, so she didn't see the dent she had made on the wall.

Fortunately, she accidentally hung the portrait crookedly, and now things are finally looking up.

Xia Linyin walked towards the distorted portrait and started walking forward from it.

"One, two, three..."

When Xia Linyin walked up to the distorted portrait again, she counted a total of twenty portraits, excluding this one.

Starting again with the distorted portrait, Xia Linyin walked backwards this time, watching the distorted portrait gradually recede from her.

Walking backwards is a very unsafe thing, especially in this kind of environment. Xia Linyin held a crescent blade in her hand, and she would look back from time to time in case something suddenly appeared behind her.

Fortunately, the terrifying thing of a female ghost suddenly crawling on her back did not happen. When she counted to the twenty-fourth portrait, the crooked portrait that was moving away from her suddenly came closer.

The distorted image that had been out of sight reappeared in her field of vision, twenty meters away.

Xia Linyin looked at the portrait beside her. So, this portrait was the starting point portrait, located in the middle of the entire corridor.
