Xia Linyin had a vague guess in her mind. Before, she avoided the "ghost" outside the mirror as a viper, but now they were avoiding her as a viper. Given the game's ridiculous nature, the way she wanted to get out was probably to have someone drag her out.
She could have started with Xia Xuan; he was a good point of entry. He was dependent on her, his older sister, and unlike adults, he wasn't afraid of ghosts. Perhaps he was just curious why his sister was in the mirror.
However, now that her mother has discovered her, she probably won't let Xia Xuan touch the mirror anymore.
So things got tricky.
Worse still, the mother might hire a Taoist priest to deal with her. Normally, when faced with this kind of situation, people would do one of two things: either throw the mirror away or ask a Taoist priest to exorcise the ghost.
She didn't know if the Taoist's methods for dealing with other ghosts would work on her.
It would be a tragedy if they were really killed by the Taoist priest.
If the male and female homeowners throw the mirror away, she will probably meet other people.
Xia Linyin touched her chin, wondering what she should do if she encountered other people and wanted them to pull her away.
"Hi! I want to be your friend. Would you like to be my friend? If so, could you take me outside?"
Xia Linyin shook her head. She was sure that after hearing her say that, the other person would run faster than a rabbit. Who would want to be friends with a ghost?
She could already picture the scene of people staring at her in terror, screaming, "Ghost, ghost, ghost!!!"
Even if a brave person sees her and doesn't wet themselves in fear, it would be very difficult for an ordinary person to hold the cold ghost hand and slowly pull the ghost out of the mirror.
Xia Linyin suddenly turned her five fingers into claws and said sharply, "Stop! If you dare to take another step forward, I'll rip out your heart and snap your neck!"
"Get over here right now! If you behave, I'll spare your life; otherwise, I'll kill you! Now, grab my hand, yes, just like that! Then drag me out!"
Xia Linyin nodded. This felt pretty good; it should be effective.
She rubbed her cheeks. Being locked up in this room like a prisoner for so long made her feel like she was going to have a mental breakdown, especially after she learned that she was a ghost.
Fortunately, she died of carbon monoxide poisoning, so her death wasn't too gruesome. If it had looked like the three ghosts she had seen before, the level of fright it would have caused would have been even higher.
To avoid looking too scary, Xia Linyin picked out a pale yellow dress from the wardrobe and changed out of her white nightgown.
Walking into the bathroom, Xia Linyin combed her long, straight black hair in front of the mirror.
Whether it was psychological or not, after learning that she was a ghost, Xia Linyin felt... a little scary.
Although she wasn't grotesque or unrecognizable, she was surrounded by an aura of death, making her look as sinister as a will-o'-the-wisp flickering in a graveyard.
Moreover, subconsciously she feels like she is a person, so combing her hair in front of the mirror like this gives her a feeling of being possessed by a ghost.
Putting down the comb, Xia Linyin smoothed her hair with her hands, secured it on top of her head with a hair tie, and then deftly braided the ponytail into a plait.
Satisfied with her much-refreshed reflection in the mirror, Xia Linyin left the bathroom and returned to her room. There were no cosmetics in the room, but there were paintbrushes and paints.
Xia Linyin dipped her brush in paint and applied some lip color and blush to make herself look more radiant and less pale.
Xia Linyin tried to float off the ground or retrieve objects remotely, but unfortunately found that she could neither float off the ground nor retrieve objects remotely.
She was indeed different from the ghosts outside.
As Xia Linyin had guessed, her mother invited a Taoist priest when it was dawn.
Xia Linyin stood in front of the mirror and saw the Taoist priest in a yellow robe and Taoist hat waving a peach wood sword in his hand, his mouth rapidly muttering, and then using black silk threads to form an array around the mirror.
The Taoist priest took out a stack of talismans and slapped them onto the mirror. Holding a talisman between his fingers, he flicked it, and it burst into flames. The talisman in his hand spontaneously combusted, and the talisman on the mirror emitted a dazzling golden light.
Xia Linyin shielded her eyes with her hand; the golden light was so bright it hurt her eyes. It seemed the Taoist's spell was having some effect on her.
Xia Linyin took a black cloth from the side and covered the mirror completely, blocking the dazzling golden light.
Outside the mirror, Master Niu said while packing his belongings, "I have severely damaged the female ghost with my talisman, but she is hiding inside and will not come out, so I have no way to completely eliminate her. To be on the safe side, if you two are willing, I will keep this ghost mirror for you and seal her away."
The woman was naturally delighted with this, saying, "Alright, alright, then I'll trouble you, Daoist Master."
The man said hesitantly, "Seal her away? Taoist priest, the female ghost in the mirror is actually my daughter. If possible, could you please properly pray for her soul so that she can be reincarnated in peace?"
The man didn't actually know if reincarnation existed, but since ghosts really do exist, there must be a cycle of reincarnation too.
Master Niu nodded. "Although it's a bit difficult, I'll find a way."
The man was extremely grateful and gave Master Niu a red envelope that was much thicker than originally agreed. Master Niu accepted the money with satisfaction, then carried the ghost mirror away.
