Chapter 163 The Master is Injured

His slender, sword-like eyebrows twitched slightly, and Ichidō slowly opened his eyes, his gaze shifting downwards to between his legs.

A moment later, he looked up at Xia Linyin, his eyes deep and dark.

Xia Linyin and Yideng stared at each other, and she actually saw a hint of... anger in Yideng's eyes?

Hmph! What's he getting angry at her for? It was the six-tailed fox who drugged him, not her!

Xia Linyin didn't think that her few words had really disturbed Yideng's meditation, causing him to become unstable and unable to suppress the restlessness in his body. She believed that the fox demon's aphrodisiac was too potent, making it impossible for Yideng to suppress it even if he wanted to.

"Master, don't worry, I absolutely, positively will not make fun of you! This proves that you are in excellent health and there is definitely no problem!"

Xia Linyin smiled and shook her head regretfully, "It's just a pity that the fox demon ran away too fast. Otherwise, why would you be in this predicament, Master? It's not good to ruin your health. I think even if you broke your vow today, Buddha would forgive you. Actually, there's nothing wrong with being a monk who only drinks and eats meat."

Xia Linyin felt incredibly pleased when she noticed that the corner of Yideng's eye twitched slightly and that veins seemed to be bulging on his forehead.

Haha! You bald monk, you've finally met your match!

In the past, no matter how harsh her words were, Yideng would remain indifferent, as if she hadn't heard them at all, which made her feel like she had punched a piece of cotton, leaving her extremely frustrated.

Now, thanks to the six-tailed fox, I've finally seen Ichidō in such a sorry state, and my frustration has eased somewhat.

Yideng suddenly stood up and walked towards the mirror. Xia Linyin quickly took a few steps back, and her figure disappeared in the mirror.

Ichidō picked up the mirror, its cool, watery texture prompting him to rub it between his fingers several times.

Like a cool breeze blowing in the sweltering heat, it's an addictive, refreshing sensation.

Her slender, jade-like fingers paused for a moment. Realizing what she was doing, Yideng put down her hand that was caressing the mirror and walked into the courtyard.

After tossing the mirror to Asong to look at himself, Yideng returned to the house, and the door slammed shut behind him.

Xia Linyin reappeared. Asong sat on a branch, holding up a mirror and glaring at Xia Linyin for a while before speaking: "Dengdeng's face was so ugly just now. She must be angry with me. That fox demon has come in before to ask Dengdeng questions, so I didn't think much of it. I didn't expect that she came with ill intentions this time and actually did such a thing to Dengdeng."

Xia Linyin turned her head away. "I don't want to talk to someone like you who doesn't keep his word. Liar, big liar!"

Upon hearing Xia Linyin's words, Asong's guilty gaze flickered a few times. He bit his lip, and the dense pine needles on the entire tree seemed to shrink back.

“I’m sorry, mirror, I was wrong about this, but I can do anything for you except pull you out of the mirror.”

"Then help me kill the master," Xia Linyin said lightly.

"Huh?" Ah Song's eyes widened in surprise. "You, you, you... how could you say such a thing?"

Xia Linyin smiled, "I was just kidding, you big liar!"

After being called a big liar by Xia Linyin several times, Asong got angry. "Don't call me a big liar anymore! The master didn't let you come out of the mirror for your own good."

Xia Linyin raised her little finger and hooked it, "If I don't call you a big liar, what should I call you? I don't know who said that if I survived the Nine Netherworld Fire, they would pull me out."

Ah Song stopped talking, crossed his arms and leaned against the tree trunk, his lips pressed into a tight line, sulking to himself.

But after a while, he calmed down, picked up the mirror again, held a handful of pine nuts in his hand, and asked with a smile, "Little mirror, do you want to eat some pine nuts? The pine nuts I grow are delicious!"

The mirror only reflected his handsome face. Seeing that Xia Linyin did not appear, Asong sighed, "Why are you doing this? Wouldn't it be better to stay by Dengdeng's side? If Dengdeng becomes a Buddha in the future, you can also benefit from it. This is an opportunity that many people dream of but cannot obtain, let alone a ghost. I really can't understand what you are thinking."

"Become a Buddha?" Xia Linyin appeared and sneered, "Him? Ha, I think he's more like a demon."

"How could you say that!" Ah Song jumped up and down, unhappy again. After staring at Xia Linyin for a moment, he waved his hand and said, "Forget it, I won't argue with you."

"Do you know? You are the only artifact spirit that Dengdeng has successfully refined in more than a hundred years. All the others before you failed to survive the Netherworld Flames and turned to ashes."

"You mean that bald monk is over a hundred years old?" Xia Linyin asked in surprise.

Looking at that bald monk's smooth and tender skin, I thought he was only in his twenties. I didn't expect him to be over a hundred years old. Xia Linyin muttered, "Old bald monk!"

Hearing Xia Linyin change her address for Yideng from "bald monk" to "old bald monk," Asong's facial muscles twitched a few times. Little mirror, that's not the point, okay?

Feeling that if he continued talking to Xia Linyin, many of the pine needles on his body would fall off from anger, Asong put down the mirror, closed his eyes, and stopped talking.

The courtyard returned to silence.

...

That day, Yideng returned from capturing demons outside, his face somewhat pale.

Noticing that something was wrong with Yideng, Asong asked worriedly, "Dengdeng, are you hurt?"

Xia Linyin, who was hanging from Yideng's waist, said, "He was hit in the chest by the thousand-year-old python spirit, and I guess... he suffered some internal injuries."

"Oh? What should we do?" Ah Song quickly came out from inside the tree trunk and followed behind Yi Deng.

"Don't worry, he won't die," Xia Linyin said, her leg trembling in the mirror.

"I'm fine." After waving to Asong, Yideng walked into the woods behind the temple.

At the entrance to the forest stood a stone tablet with a large, bright red character "禁" (forbidden) carved on it. An aura of fear and dread emanated from the character.

Yideng walked past the stone tablet and headed deeper into the woods.

The trees around them thinned out, and the view suddenly opened up, revealing a huge stone Buddha statue sitting cross-legged with its hands clasped together deep in the woods.

The Buddha statue's expression is majestic and solemn, making one's knees buckle and one want to kneel down and worship devoutly.

However, several deep cracks appeared on the huge Buddha statue, which was carved with exquisite craftsmanship.

In front of the statue was a square stone platform. Yideng stepped onto the platform, and a black vortex appeared on the originally flat ground, like a black hole.

Yideng stood beside the vortex, opened the Qiankun Bag, and the thousand-year-old python spirit fell out of the bag. It had just regained its enormous body when it was sucked into the vortex.

The thousand-year-old python spirit, thicker than a water bucket, writhed and roared in the vortex, but was eventually sucked in completely.

Yideng put away his Qiankun bag, turned around and left the stone platform. Behind him, the black vortex emanating an evil aura slowly disappeared.

And a small crack seemed to have appeared on the Buddha statue...
