"Try to stand up. If you can't stand up, crawl out of here. Only when you leave here can we say that we have truly completed our mission."
"Yes, yes, yes! Mission accomplished! Back at the grand hotel, I'll be completely healed! I won't need an amputation!"
Bai Xiaolin nodded hurriedly, but he couldn't stand up. "What should I do? What should I do? I can't move at all, I have no strength at all..."
Not only that, after all this commotion, Bai Xiaolin felt that he had no strength left, and he was dizzy and lightheaded, like a wilted eggplant, barely able to breathe.
However, when Xia Linyin placed the bamboo basket full of fruit next to him, Bai Xiaolin's eyes lit up as if he had been rejuvenated. The person who was unable to move just now pounced on the bamboo basket and took a big bite of the bright red apple.
The vivid imagery and dynamic depiction perfectly illustrate what it means for a hungry wolf to pounce on its prey.
Xia Linyin helped Bai Xiaolin and Ying Meihui up, supporting one person as they walked outside. After finishing an apple, Ying Meihui asked, "Where is that man?"
"Arthur? He's gone out," Xia Linyin replied, her breathing becoming heavier as she struggled to support two people.
Sakura Miho paused for a moment, then quickened her pace, removing most of her weight from Charlene's body.
Looking at Bai Xiaolin, who was practically leaning half his body on Xia Linyin's shoulder and carrying her like a drunkard, Ying Meihui said expressionlessly, "Necromede doesn't taste good. There's an ether smell in the basement. Chad drugged us again while we were asleep and untied us, so you don't need to have your limbs amputated."
Bai Xiaolin, who was wolfing down an apple, ate the core as well, then patted his chest, which had almost choked, and said, "I think I was just hungry. After eating two apples, I have some energy now."
He quickly straightened up.
Sakura Mie added, "That man with the chainsaw is still here. If he comes back, we won't be able to leave."
Upon hearing this, Bai Xiaolin straightened up, his bones no longer felt weak, and he gritted his teeth, walking with a limp that was even more agile than Xia Linyin and Ying Meihui.
His legs were really sore, but his life was more important than anything else!
Although he didn't know how the cannibal was killed, he was still a little dizzy and couldn't believe that the cannibal was really dead, and he couldn't believe that a miracle had really happened.
But now we're just one step away from completing the mission. We've made it this far, and we can't afford to fail at this crucial moment.
As long as... as long as they get out of this town, they'll have completed their mission!
They survived!
Bai Xiaolin's determination to complete the mission and survive burned like a raging fire. He was so excited that his face turned red, as if he had been injected with chicken blood! He was about to complete the mission and see the hope of survival.
The three quickened their pace and walked silently forward, hoping to get out of this nightmarish town of Manchester as soon as possible and complete their mission.
Soon, the three of them left the ranch and came to the street, keeping a watchful eye on Arthur, who had disappeared somewhere, and praying that he would not show up.
As they walked along the main road, they saw that the fog that had enveloped the town had indeed dissipated, and a wide road leading straight out into the outside world was revealed before them, ending in a white light.
Bai Xiaolin's eyes reddened with excitement, "I saw it! I saw it!"
Xia Linyin smiled, her excitement overflowing. Just then, a tall figure blocked their way.
Arthur looked at Xia Linyin and said, word by word, "I'm very angry."
His tone wasn't harsh, but that very calm tone inexplicably sent a chill through people, as if a cold winter wind had swept by, stinging their cheeks and making them shiver.
Bai Xiaolin's bones went limp again, and he collapsed. If Xia Linyin hadn't been supporting him, he would have sat down on the ground long ago. However, as Arthur walked towards them step by step, even Xia Linyin couldn't support him anymore.
Her body swayed twice, and Xia Linyin released Bai Xiaolin and Ying Meihui. Her legs went weak, and she retreated step by step. She licked her dry lips and couldn't help but tremble as Arthur approached.
An overwhelming sense of fear spread through her. She was afraid of Arthur Li like this, which reminded her of the time when Arthur Li chased her with a chainsaw.
“A...Arthur…”
As Arthur lunged forward and grabbed her, Xia Linyin couldn't help but scream, "Ah—"
After a dizzying spin, Xia Linyin was carried on Arthur's shoulder.
With a single, effortless lift, Arthur began to walk away.
"Let her go!!" Bai Xiaolin didn't know where he got the courage, but after shouting at Arthur's back, he got up and rushed over with all his might.
Unfortunately, he charged towards Arthur like a cannonball. Arthur didn't budge, but he himself was bounced back and landed on his backside, falling flat on his back.
He clenched his fist again and charged forward. Arthur only slightly raised his arm. Bai Xiaolin, who was spitting out two streams of blood from his nostrils, fell to the ground, convulsing and foaming at the mouth.
"Put me down, Arthur, put me down!"
Xia Linyin pounded on Arthur's body, only able to watch helplessly as the bright white light, as clear as moonlight, receded further and further away from her.
She couldn't help but reach out Er Kang's hand, a single tear of sadness sliding down her cheek.
"Xia-chan, thank you." Sakura Mie bowed deeply in the direction Xia Linyin had left, then carried the foaming-at-the-mouth Bai Xiaolin towards Bai Guang.
