"I missed you so much." Mo Li said as he caught Xia Linyin who rushed towards him. Overwhelmed by longing, he pinned Xia Linyin against the wall, captured her lips, and kissed her deeply.
"Hmm... You came back so quickly, I hope you didn't miss work?"
"No, your husband is very efficient."
Mo Li missed Xia Linyin so much that he hugged her tightly, and their lips and tongues became entangled passionately.
He sucked hard on Xia Linyin's soft lips, his crimson tongue sweeping across her oral mucosa like a king surveying his territory, leaving no corner untouched.
Sometimes Mo Lizhen wished she could bite off Xia Linyin's tongue and swallow it.
He really, really loved Xia Linyin.
Their lips parted slightly, and Mo Li looked at Xia Linyin with burning eyes, asking in a low, husky voice, "Have you missed me?"
Xia Linyin slightly opened her eyes, "Hmm..."
Mo Li captured Xia Linyin's rosy lips again, his kiss was so intense that Xia Linyin could only passively endure it.
Suddenly, the smell of blood filled the air between their lips and teeth.
Xia Linyin thought it was either her lips or Mo Li's lips that were broken, as this had happened before, but she saw Mo Li's terrified expression.
Something hot was flowing down her nose. Xia Linyin raised her hand to touch it and found her hand covered in blood.
A wave of dizziness washed over her, and Xia Linyin blinked before completely losing consciousness. Before she lost awareness, she heard Mo Li's panicked voice, "Linyin!!"
...
...
In a clean and bright single-person hospital room, Xia Linyin lay on the hospital bed, her face pale, after another round of chemotherapy.
Mo Li gently brushed a few stray hairs from her forehead and asked, "Does it hurt?"
Xia Linyin's pale lips curved into a faint smile as she looked tenderly at Mo Li, "I'm alright."
When Mo Li withdrew his hand, he was still holding a few strands of Xia Linyin's hair.
Xia Linyin's gaze fell on Mo Li's hands, her voice as faint as a wisp of smoke, "You're losing hair again."
"Am I ugly right now?" She touched her hair and then pulled out a handful.
“Not ugly, not ugly at all.” Mo Li looked at Xia Linyin earnestly. “You’ve always been so beautiful.”
He gathered all of Xia Linyin's fallen hair, tied it with a rubber band, and put it in his inner pocket. After doing this, he took Xia Linyin's slender hand, kissed her fingers, and said, "I love you."
“I love you too,” Xia Linyin said.
After watching Xia Linyin fall asleep, Mo Li quietly left the ward. He walked to the hospital stairwell and took out a strand of Xia Linyin's hair from his pocket.
Mo Li leaned against the wall and slowly squatted down, running her slender fingers through her hair before burying her face in her hands.
His shoulders trembled, and a suppressed sob echoed in the stairwell, which then grew louder and louder.
If someone were to pass by at this moment, they would see a tall man, over six feet tall, leaning against the wall, crying like a child.
He was still holding a strand of hair in his hand.
Mo Li shaved his head.
Xia Linyin asked him why, and he said it felt refreshing.
When Mo Li wasn't looking, Xia Linyin secretly shed a tear.
Even with the best doctors and the best medications, Xia Linyin's condition continued to deteriorate.
Sensing the loss of life force, Xia Linyin asked Mo Li, "I can't cure you, can I?"
"It will get better, it will definitely get better! Believe me, Lin Yin." Mo Li comforted Xia Lin Yin, while also comforting himself.
But even though he tried so hard to save Xia Linyin and was willing to pay any price, Xia Linyin still visibly grew thinner and thinner day by day.
Feeling that my days were numbered, I didn't want my last memories to be in the hospital, smelling the disinfectant.
She didn't want to see Mo Li constantly running around and working hard for her illness. How long had it been since he had a good night's sleep? The haggardness between his brows was so thick that it couldn't be hidden.
Xia Linyin knew she couldn't be cured. She wanted to live, but God wouldn't allow it.
"Honey, I'm in so much pain. I don't want to get treatment anymore. Let's go home."
With tears in her eyes, Xia Linyin laid bare her pain to Mo Li for the first time. She was actually in a lot of pain, but she always said she was fine so as not to worry Mo Li.
Even if the treatment was extremely painful, I gritted my teeth and endured it.
Mo Li's eyes twitched violently for a moment, then returned to calm as she nodded and said, "Okay, let's go home."
The sun was shining brightly. Xia Linyin sat in a wheelchair, her clothes hanging loosely on her body. Her body was so thin that it looked as if a gust of wind could blow her away.
Even with a bald head wearing a woolen hat, the person on the verge of death doesn't exude a sense of gloom, but rather a tranquility that soothes the soul.
"Mo Li, accompany me in arranging flowers."
Xia Linyin placed a rose into the vase.
Sometimes she likes to call out Mo Li's name, and she always feels it's beautiful, even though it's just two simple words.
"good."
Mo Li helped Xia Linyin place the flowers on the table into vases.
White baby's breath surrounded the vibrant flowers, and Xia Linyin looked at the bouquet and said, "Look, how beautiful."
Her gaze passed through the bouquet and landed on Mo Li's eyes. In a daze, it seemed as if she had returned to the first time she saw Mo Li's eyes.
"Look, how beautiful." His eyes seemed to hold a thousand stars.
Her eyelids slowly drooped, and Xia Linyin's hands fell to her sides.
Mo Li got up and walked to Xia Linyin's side. As usual, he covered Xia Linyin's legs with a blanket and kissed her forehead.
