"There are two possibilities for why this house is so clean. One is that someone lives here, but the owner just happened to be out today and forgot to lock the door. The other is that no one lives here, but someone comes in to clean it regularly."
Ma Yanming is a slightly overweight middle-aged man with a square face. He speaks slowly and deliberately, giving people a very calm and composed feeling.
He was probably the oldest person present.
Upon hearing his analysis, everyone nodded in agreement.
"But no matter what the situation is, our behavior is very impolite. We thought it was an abandoned castle, but it turned out to be like this. But there's nothing we can do now. It's so late, and the stone steps are so narrow. It's definitely not safe to go down the mountain now. We can only stay here for the night."
Ma Yanming paused for a moment before continuing.
"I hope everyone will refrain from touching anything in the house. If the owner returns tomorrow, we will explain the situation and sincerely apologize. I believe they will understand."
“Brother Ma is right. We shouldn’t touch their things. We should leave them the same way we left.” Liu Wei looked at a vase on the table. “Look, these things are definitely antiques. We can’t just touch them.”
"Tch! What's the big deal? It's just a broken vase." Zhao Dahai glanced at the vase with disdain. "If you ask me, anything that can be solved with money isn't a problem. We're just sleeping here for one night. When we leave, I'll just put some money on the table."
"When are you going to buy me a new bag?" Tian Chunli, wearing a fur coat and heavy makeup, leaned against Zhao Dahai and asked, playing with the thick gold necklace around his neck.
"Buy, buy, buy! I'll buy it for you tomorrow!" Zhao Dahai waved his hand generously.
Tian Chunli smiled broadly and kissed Zhao Dahai on the cheek.
Liu Wei shuddered, not wanting to watch Zhao Dahai and Tian Chunli's affectionate display any longer. He called out, "Come on, everyone! Bring out whatever you have to eat!"
When Liu Wei mentioned it, everyone felt a bit hungry and took out food from their bags.
Xia Linyin placed the xylitol and biscuits on the table. As for the small bread roll, it was too big to divide, so she ate it all by herself.
Tian Chunli took out several packets of pickled chicken feet and spicy strips. Looking at the pickled chicken feet on the table, Xia Linyin's mouth was already watering, but thinking that she had a cold and her throat was uncomfortable, she had to reluctantly look away.
As soon as she turned her gaze away, she saw Li Luo looking at her. Because of the game's prompt, she didn't know what to say to Li Luo. She had thought about what to say if she saw Li Luo again, whether to say "Hi, we meet again" or "Hey! Are you a player from Area A? I didn't wait for you to come find me."
Seeing that Li Luo hadn't eaten anything, Xia Linyin handed him another small bread roll. "I see you haven't eaten anything. Would you like this? It tastes pretty good."
A slight smile finally appeared on Li Luo's expressionless handsome face. He reached out and took the bread from Xia Linyin's hand. "Mm."
"It's no fun just sitting here. I have some cards with me, let's play Werewolf!" Liu Wei pulled out some cards from his pocket. "Everyone knows how to play Werewolf, right? Anyone not familiar with it?"
"I don't know how," Xia Yao said weakly, raising her hand.
"I've never played it before either." Zhou Yu smiled shyly.
"Is this game fun?" Yang Shuming shrugged. "I've never played this before."
"So many people haven't played this before?" Liu Wei raised an eyebrow and spread the cards out on the table. "Then let me explain the rules. There are eleven people in total, excluding the judge, that makes ten."
"What is a judge?" Xia Yao asked softly.
“It’s like being a referee.” Liu Wei glanced at Xia Yao and then pointed to the cards on the table. “For ten people, we’ll set up three werewolves, four villagers, one witch, one seer, and one hunter.”
"The witch, the seer, and the hunter are all villagers with roles. Simply put, at night the werewolves kill the villagers, and during the day the villagers vote to decide who the werewolves are. If they can kill all the werewolves, then the villagers win; if not, then the werewolves win."
Liu Wei showed the cards one by one.
"If you draw the Werewolf card: kill a villager, hide your identity, mislead or frame other villagers."
"If you draw a villager card: determine who the werewolf is and vote them out."
"Witch: You have a bottle of antidote and a bottle of poison. You can choose to save someone or poison someone. I will ask you when the time comes. Thumbs up means save someone, and thumbs down means poison someone."
"Prophet: You can request to see a player's true identity."
"Hunter: If the hunter dies, he can shoot and take one person with him when he dies, but if the hunter is poisoned by a witch, then he cannot."
After briefly explaining the card settings, Liu Wei put all the cards away and rearranged them.
"It's very simple. You'll understand after playing a couple of games. I'll be the judge. Don't worry, you'll understand everything after playing a couple of games."
Liu Wei placed the shuffled cards on the table, and the game began after everyone drew one card.
After playing three rounds, I was able to get the hang of most of the games I hadn't played before, and I gradually started to enjoy them.
“You all know how to play, right? Let’s add some atmosphere to it, that will make it more fun,” Liu Wei said, rubbing his hands together.
"What kind of atmosphere? How do we add it?" Tian Chunli asked with interest.
"Turn off the lights, then light the candles."
Upon hearing this suggestion, everyone showed expressions of both nervousness and excitement.
"Isn't it a little scary?" Xia Yao couldn't help but ask.
"It's meant to be scary, that's what makes it more fun!" Liu Wei said impatiently as he walked toward the light switch in the entryway. "Quickly light the candles, I'm going to turn off the lights."
There were two candlesticks on the table where everyone was sitting, each with three candles. Zhao Dahai took out a lighter from his pocket and lit all the candles.
Turning off the lights is clearly a suicidal act; who knows what might happen after the lights are turned off? But they are a group of adventure enthusiasts, and Xia Yao's small protest has already been refuted. If she raises objections again, it's obvious that she has a problem.
Xia Linyin could only watch silently as Liu Wei turned off the lights, while still maintaining a cheerful demeanor.
There's nothing she can do; her current character is an adventure enthusiast, and if she doesn't court death, she won't die.
With a "snap," the lights went out, leaving only the faint glow of a few candles in the large living room.
"Draw cards! Draw cards!" Liu Wei shuffled all ten cards on the table.
Xia Linyin drew a card, secretly glanced at it, and then covered it up on the table. The identity she drew was "Villager".
