Chapter 23 The Cabin in the Woods 6

After dodging the iron clamp with a very cool dodge, Li Luo leaped up with the chainsaw in hand.

The chainsaw sliced through the zombie's neck, and the zombie's head flew off, with a column of blood gushing out from the cut!

However, the zombie's body only swayed twice before it threw the iron clamp at Li Luo again, and its head, which had fallen to the ground, opened and closed its jaws with a "click-clack" sound as it charged towards Xia Linyin and Bai Xueer.

"Ahhh!" Bai Xue'er screamed and hid behind Xia Linyin. Although she knew that the zombie would not kill her, who knew if it would accidentally bite her.

Once Xia Linyin saw an opportunity, she picked up her axe and started hacking wildly at the head that was charging at her!

Finally, he kicked the wrecked head, which was no longer recognizable, away!

Li Luo had already used a chainsaw to dismember the zombie into eight pieces. Various body parts of the zombie were scattered on the ground, with only half of its severed hand still crawling around on the ground. It looked very terrifying, but it no longer posed a threat.

But before they could catch their breath, another brutal zombie, carrying an axe, staggered over.

The one-armed girl with two braids tilted her head and looked at the three of them. Her dress was covered in dirt and bloodstains, and her eyes had no pupils, only whites.

After staggering a few steps, the zombie girl suddenly raised the axe in her hand and charged at the three of them!

He parted his lips, revealing a set of sharp, dark red teeth.

The chainsaw slashed through the air in a sharp arc, leaving a bloody gash down the middle of the zombie girl's face, before the left and right halves of her body separated.

Thick, dark red blood, mixed with organs, spilled all over the ground, and the zombie girl's two halves of body dragged her intestines as she crawled and writhed on the ground.

Blood dripped down the chainsaw, and the roar of the chainsaw grew fainter and fainter until it finally fell silent completely.

Li Luo shrugged, threw down the chainsaw, and said helplessly to Xia Linyin, "It's out of power."

His helpless expression was completely different from the cold, ruthless, and efficient man he had just been.

Xia Linyin nodded, her doubts about Li Luo deepening. Who exactly was Li Luo?

After dealing with the zombies, the three continued running forward.

Bai Xueer glanced back at the zombie carcasses moving on the ground, and pouted. Normally, dealing with the zombies should be a happy thing, but seeing Li Luo so easily cut down two zombies, Bai Xueer felt that she had made a huge mistake by choosing the diary.

When we were watching the movie, those zombies were so powerful, killing several people in one go. How come they were killed by that man in one go now?

I'm losing money like crazy! I'm losing money like crazy!

If she had known the zombies were so easy to deal with, she wouldn't have chosen the diary.

"Xia Linyin, could you tell that man that I'll give him the gold coins and ask him to protect me?" Bai Xueer said breathlessly as she ran.

“I’m not familiar with him.” Xia Linyin rejected Bai Xue’er’s suggestion. Not only did she think Li Luo wouldn’t agree to the request, but she herself hadn’t figured out what Li Luo’s purpose was in approaching her.

Bai Xueer glared at Xia Linyin resentfully, feeling that Xia Linyin was lying to her!

If that man wasn't familiar with Xia Linyin, why would he save her every time she was in danger?

"Awooo—" A loud, long, and chilling wolf howl rang out.

By this time, it was completely dark, and a bright moon hung in the night sky. Moonlight peeked through the gaps in the dense canopy of trees, making it barely possible to see the road ahead.

Li Luo suddenly stopped, squinting as she looked ahead. In the pitch-black darkness, a ghostly light flickered, as if some bloodthirsty beast was lurking.

An aura of danger permeated the air.

Suddenly, a tall and strong werewolf rushed out from the shadows, swiftly gliding across the ground on all fours. With a powerful push from its feet, the werewolf's massive body leaped high into the air, tackling Li Luo, who appeared to be the most threatening of the three, to the ground.

Li Luo produced his crescent-shaped longsword, the blade wedged into the werewolf's teeth, while he forcefully rammed one of his legs into the werewolf's abdomen.

A low growl came from deep within its throat, the werewolf's sharp teeth gleaming coldly. It swung its head down, its eyes flashing with bloodthirsty ferocity.

"I'm your friend!" Xia Linyin held up the silver cross pendant in her hand, which swayed in the air, reflecting streaks of silver light. "Werewolf, I'm your friend! Let him go!"

The werewolf paused, glanced up at the pendant in Xia Linyin's hand, and then turned his gaze to her.

This werewolf even knew how to ambush them; Xia Linyin felt that the werewolf's intelligence was definitely a level higher than that of the zombies.

Xia Linyin softened her voice and forced a friendly smile. "Werewolf, I'm your friend. Please don't hurt us, okay?"

After staring at Xia Linyin for three seconds, the werewolf suddenly tore at Li Luo beneath him with ferocity.

However, Li Luo also gathered her strength while the werewolf was stunned, and kicked it away the moment it started biting without warning.

The werewolf's sharp claws and Li Luo's razor-sharp knife flashed through the air as the two figures clashed fiercely, their movements so fast they couldn't be caught by the naked eye.

"Xia Linyin, let's run quickly..." Bai Xue'er tugged at Xia Linyin's sleeve as she listened to the werewolf's terrifying howl.

"You run if you want, I'm not running." No matter what Li Luo's purpose was in approaching her, at least he didn't have any ill intentions towards her now. Li Luo had saved her several times, always stepping forward to help her when she was in danger. She couldn't just abandon him when he was in danger.

One cannot live without a conscience.

Bai Xue'er bit her lip tightly. She glanced at the dark forest, then at the cross in Xia Linyin's hand, looking like she wanted to run but didn't dare to.

Just as Bai Xueer was hesitating, Xia Linyin had already charged towards the werewolf with her axe raised.

However, both the werewolf and Li Luo were too fast for her to intervene.

With a muffled thud, the werewolf slammed Li Luo away.

After tracing an arc, Li Luo's body crashed into the tree trunk and fell heavily to the ground.

At that moment, Xia Linyin slammed her axe into the werewolf's back.

It was as if she had struck a hard rock; the enormous reaction force caused Xia Linyin's hand to split open.

The wooden axe handle snapped with a "crack," and blood flowed down from the base of her thumb. Xia Linyin held the broken axe handle, looking completely bewildered.

The werewolf turned around, and the axe that was stuck on its back fell to the ground with its movement, with a few strands of wolf fur still stuck to the blade.
