"This should be enough," Night Owl said after looking at the paints everyone had found.
He looked up in the direction the black bear had left, a bad feeling creeping into his heart. "Has the black bear not come yet?"
Xia Linyin glanced at her watch; it was already ten minutes past the meeting time. "Maybe something happened that delayed us."
Night Owl turned on his earpiece to call Black Bear, but after calling for a long time without receiving a response, his heart sank.
After searching the entire amusement park map on their watches, they couldn't find any other green dots besides theirs, and Owl had to regretfully confirm that they had lost a teammate.
Seeing Night Owl shake his head at them, Xia Linyin felt a little sad. Black Bear was the least talkative person in their group, and their biggest impression of him was his big body and great strength.
But his massive size alone made him stand out, and Xia Linyin had a deep impression of him. Now that she knew the black bear was dead, she couldn't help but feel a sense of sorrow, like the loss of a rabbit.
Hehehehehe—
A strange, demonic laugh suddenly rang out.
All four of them looked towards the Ferris wheel without prior arrangement. Their heightened hearing, enhanced by the X-virus, allowed them to accurately identify the source of the sound.
"Let's go, take the paints and go see the clown!"
Night Owl originally intended to find the black bear's carcass, but now that the clown has appeared, they have no choice but to find the clown first to get the key. After all, the mission is the most important thing. Once they leave the amusement park, they need to report the situation to their superiors.
Regardless of whether their superiors believed these unbelievable things, they were required to report everything that happened at the amusement park.
The dazzling Ferris wheel slowly turned, and everything around was filled with a fairytale-like dreamlike atmosphere.
The clown stood under the Ferris wheel, the lights shining on him, enveloping him in a soft, gentle halo.
He wasn't a traditional clown; he didn't wear a round, red clown nose, a fluffy, curly wig, or a colorful, comical clown costume.
His attire was very distinctive, and his clothes were reminiscent of the King of Spades, with the King's outfit being extremely ornate.
He tied his shoulder-length soft black hair behind his neck with a red ribbon.
His face was painted with clown makeup, his skin was extremely white, and exaggerated red paint extended from the corners of his mouth. Black eyeshadow was applied around his eyes, making his eyes appear even deeper and darker.
What's truly horrifying is that the corners of his mouth were stitched together with needles and thread. The black threads were so realistic that it was impossible to tell whether it was makeup or if his mouth had actually split open and been stitched up.
The horrifying and bizarre wound made the red paint on both sides of his mouth smell of blood.
Hehehehehe—
The clown held a clown doll in his hand; the comical doll grinned and kept laughing.
When Xia Linyin and the others arrived at the Ferris wheel, the clown snapped the doll in his hand with a "click," and his laughter stopped abruptly.
"Clown, here's your paint. We've found it for you."
After exchanging glances, the group took out all the paint.
A smile appeared on the clown's face. Perhaps it was because of his makeup, but his smile was full of wickedness and evil, making people feel inexplicably sinister.
"Thank you so much, I'm so happy that someone is finally willing to be my friend."
The clown said cheerfully, his voice pleasant, like a glass of red wine swaying in the dark night, rich and enticing.
“Mr. Clown is so…” Rose looked at the clown with great interest, gently twirling her hair, “charming. It is our honor to be your friend.”
The clown let out a deep, pleasant laugh.
"That's great, thank you for finding the paint for me. I can grant you one wish."
"They're here!" Night Owl perked up and cut to the chase: "We want to leave the amusement park."
"Why are you leaving the amusement park? Aren't you my friends? Don't you want to stay here and play with me?"
The clown tilted his head, looking puzzled.
“Mr. Clown, of course we are your friends and want to stay here with you, but we have a mission to complete. Once we finish our mission, we will return to the amusement park.”
Xia Linyin said in a friendly manner.
After staring at Xia Linyin for a while, the clown said, "Liars grow noses."
He curled his lips into a terrifying smile, his tone revealing neither joy nor anger, "I'm not a three-year-old child."
The clown's smile faded. "I can grant your wishes, except to leave the amusement park, unless you admit that you don't genuinely want to be my friends."
It's a vicious cycle: if they want to be the clown's friend, they can't ask to leave the amusement park, otherwise they won't be the clown's friend; if they don't want to be the clown's friend, the clown won't grant their wish.
Lightning stroked his chin and pondered for a moment before changing his approach, "Then I want the key!"
A key? The owl was puzzled. What key?
"You mean this?" The clown opened his scarlet mouth and took out an exquisite key.
Lightning's eyes lit up. "That's it!"
Under Lightning's unwavering gaze, the Joker put the key back in his mouth, a wicked smile on his face. "I can't give this one either."
Lightning was absolutely furious! This clown was completely out of line! He was clearly making a fool of them!
We promised to fulfill their wishes, but then this one wouldn't work, and that one wouldn't work either!
"We've already found the paint for you, so you should keep your promise and give us the key."
"Did I not keep my promise?" The clown tilted his head in confusion. "I will grant my friends one wish, but if you want to leave the amusement park, you are no longer my friends, because my friends will stay and keep me company."
"Give us the keys!" Lightning pointed his gun at the Joker. He realized that the Joker had no intention of letting them leave.
"So you really aren't my friends?" The clown looked sadly at the doll in his hands, as if talking to himself, or perhaps to the doll. "So I'm still just a lonely clown after all?"
"Give us the keys and let us leave!" Lightning warned again.
The clown looked up at Lightning, and under the clown's cold gaze, the laser gun in Lightning's hand gradually bent, the muzzle pointing towards Lightning himself!
With a "boom," Night Owl fired a laser beam at the Joker, but the beam was blocked by an invisible barrier right in front of the Joker.
It's a barrier!
The laser beams shot at the transparent barrier, like blue flames burning fiercely in front of the clown.
The clown folded his long fingers, and the laser beam disappeared without a trace in front of him as if absorbed by the barrier.
"Hey! Joker, wanna make a bet?"
