Xia Linyin tripped over the fat man's corpse and fell to the ground. Sitting in the pool of blood, looking at the blood on her hands, she asked, "Xiao Li, what would have happened if I hadn't saved you?"
A dark glint flashed in Xiao Li's eyes, but her voice remained soft and sweet, "Sister, do you regret saving me? I told you, any player who encounters me will be wiped out."
Looking at Xia Linyin, who was silent with her eyes downcast, Xiao Li sighed and squatted down in front of her. "If I had died earlier, the player's mission would have been to kill the vengeful ghost Xiao Li!"
"Sister, can you hug me?" Xiao Li opened her arms to Xia Linyin, gesturing for a hug.
Xia Linyin sat motionless in the pool of blood, her head down, saying nothing, her face expressionless, as if she had lost her soul.
Xiao Li grabbed Xia Linyin's right hand, and a dagger appeared out of thin air in his hand. He placed the dagger in Xia Linyin's palm, and made Xia Linyin close her five fingers. He wrapped his arm around Xia Linyin's hand and they both gripped the dagger.
Xia Linyin struggled to pull her hand away as if startled awake, but Xiao Li held it as tightly as an iron clamp. "What are you doing, Xiao Li? What do you want to do?"
Xiao Li looked up and smiled at Xia Linyin, his smile as radiant as a flower. Then, the next second, he hugged Xia Linyin tightly and plunged the dagger into his own body.
"If I don't die, my sister will die," Xiao Li said, leaning on Xia Linyin's shoulder.
Tears welled up in her eyes, and Xia Linyin trembled as she pushed Xiao Li away. Looking at the gleaming dagger stuck in Xiao Li's abdomen, she said in a trembling voice, "Xiao Li, don't move. I'll bandage you up and stop the bleeding right now. You won't die."
She quickly tore off her clothes. "If you really like your sister, then you should obediently listen to her and not move."
"Sister, you missed." Looking at the dagger stuck in his abdomen, Xiao Li frowned and said. He pulled the dagger out, and blood splattered onto Xia Linyin's face.
"Ouch! You got it on my sister's face." He reached out and wiped the blood from Xia Linyin's face. Blood was gushing from the wound on his abdomen, soaking his clothes.
Xiao Li placed the dagger back into Xia Linyin's hand. "Sister, I'm not in pain. This little bit of pain is nothing to me."
He pointed to his heart and said, "Sister, stab here, but don't miss this time."
Xia Linyin was driven crazy by him. She threw the dagger in her hand hard, and it hit the ground with a clanging sound.
I won't kill you!
"Damn it! I originally wanted to die at my sister's hands, but she wouldn't even grant me this simple wish! I have no choice but to kill myself!"
By the time Xia Linyin realized what was happening and tried to stop her, it was too late. Xiao Li slapped herself hard on the chest.
Blood gushed from his mouth, and his eyes gradually dimmed, like a candle flame about to be extinguished.
Xiao Li opened her arms wide. "Sister, can you hug me?"
Xia Linyin hugged Xiao Li tightly, choking back tears as she said, "Okay."
Leaning on Xia Linyin's shoulder, Xiao Li's face showed a satisfied smile, and his voice grew softer and softer, "Sister, I'm so sleepy, can you sing? A lullaby is fine too."
A look of difficulty flashed across Xia Linyin's face. She opened her mouth and made a sound, humming out of tune as she gently patted Xiao Li's back.
"Sister, your singing is so awful..." Xiao Li smiled and closed her eyes, her little hand sliding off Xia Linyin's body and hanging lifelessly to the side.
"Ah—" Xia Linyin cried out in heart-wrenching sobs as she held Xiao Li's body, "Xiao Li! Xiao Li!"
After a while, Xia Linyin's singing voice echoed in the cold, empty palace, "Baby, be good, baby—"
Her eyes were vacant as she gently swayed her body, patting Xiao Li's back tenderly.
"Although seeing my sister so sad about my death makes Xiao Li happy, hearing her call me 'baby' makes me really want to do something to her to make her change that wrong way of calling me. But I feel like I'm about to ruin my sister."
Upon hearing Xiao Li's voice, Xia Linyin quickly looked down, but Xiao Li in her arms had her eyes tightly closed and remained a cold, lifeless corpse.
She turned her gaze and then saw Xiao Li, whose feet were off the ground and floating in mid-air.
"If I had died earlier, the player's mission would have been—to kill the vengeful ghost Xiao Li!"
As Xiao Li's words flashed through her mind, Xia Linyin gasped. She covered her mouth, unsure how to react as she looked at Xiao Li, now a vengeful ghost.
Xiao Li's eyes were no longer jet black, but blood-red. He floated toward Xia Linyin, "Sister, the mission isn't over yet. Take out your high heels, and then—kill me."
Xia Linyin covered her ears and yelled, "Go away! Go away! Don't come any closer!"
Xiao Li's icy little hand touched Xia Linyin's cheek, and she said seductively, "Sister, kill me."
"Ahhh!" Xia Linyin screamed like a madwoman. She got up and ran towards the palace exit, but she tripped over something and fell to the ground after only two steps.
Xia Linyin lay on the ground and felt a pair of icy, frostbitten little hands grab her ankles, then move up her calves. Even through the fabric, the chill could seep into her skin.
Xiao Li climbed onto Xia Linyin's back, clinging to her body like an octopus and pinning her down.
With her cheek pressed against the ground, Xia Linyin felt as if a block of ice had been placed on her back, much colder and heavier than the ground itself.
Every part of my body was imprisoned by that chill, unable to move or escape.
God! Someone please save her!
Turning her gaze, she met Xiao Li's bloodshot eyes. Xia Linyin closed her eyes and silently wept. Who could tell her where that thin, pitiful little boy in the wheelchair had gone? Why had he become like this?
"Sister's eyes are swollen like walnuts." Xiao Li placed her cold little hand on Xia Linyin's eyes.
He sighed, "Never mind, I'll do it myself."
Xiao Li's ghost gradually became transparent, and he whispered in Xia Linyin's ear, "Sister, we will meet again..."
When Xia Linyin opened her eyes, she was already back in the grand hotel, and she could still hear Xiao Li's childish voice.
She curled up in the blanket, lost in thought, motionless until she felt a stinging pain in her palm.
"Dear player, congratulations on completing the third game. You have won the Headshot Dice Cup and ten Ghost Coins. The fourth game will begin in seven days."
