Chapter 218 Misty Town 26

The fingers that brushed across her cheek sent shivers down Xia Linyin's spine. Each stroke sent a chill down her spine, as if the fingers brushing against her cheek were not Arthur's long, slender fingers, but a gleaming knife and fork.

“Really…” Arthur turned Xia Linyin’s face and kissed her hard on the cheek, making a loud “chu” sound. “I really like you, baby.”

Xia Linyin's eyes widened, and Arthur smiled and patted her little bottom, "Alright, go collect the clothes."

As soon as Arthur let go, Xia Linyin immediately jumped off his lap and rushed upstairs.

Watching Xia Linyin flee in panic, Arthur curled the corners of his mouth, his wicked smile filled with a sense of certainty.

In the following days, Arthur was like a peacock spreading its tail feathers, intentionally or unintentionally showing off his muscles, long legs, and his handsome face from every angle in front of Xia Linyin.

The innocent Arthur Li of the past is gone forever. Arthur Li is like a completely different person, turning from a clueless blockhead into a master at flirting.

An ambiguous atmosphere always hung in the air. Under such circumstances, Xia Linyin had the same dream for several days in a row.

Behind the steamy glass door, Arthur's naked figure was faintly visible. The sound of rushing water came from inside the bathroom. Through the frosted glass door, his outline could be vaguely seen, hazy and indistinct, yet even more sexy and alluring than when he was clearly seen, carrying a seductive charm of half-hidden beauty.

She hid in a dark corner, peeping at Arthur Li while he took a bath, staring at his body like a perverted voyeur.

Suddenly, Arthur seemed to notice something and looked in her direction!

Then she was startled awake.

Every time Xia Linyin woke up from a dream, she was covered in sweat. She couldn't help but wonder if it was because she had been single for too long that she was easily aroused by Arthur's advances and had become sexually aroused.

Otherwise, why would she have such a shameless dream, and for several days in a row?

Xia Linyin felt somewhat fortunate, thinking that it was a good thing she wasn't a man, otherwise having such dreams every day would eventually cause her problems.

That night, before falling asleep, Xia Linyin muttered to herself—

"Form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form; form is emptiness, emptiness is form..."

As sleepiness gradually crept in, Xia Linyin's mumbling grew softer and softer until finally, the room was quiet except for the sound of her breathing.

Before falling asleep, Xia Linyin's thought was that she hoped she wouldn't have that dream again tonight.

Something brushed against her cheek, bringing a slight coolness. Xia Linyin groggily opened her eyes, only to see a tall figure standing by the bedside. Startled, she instantly became more alert.

Arthur, dressed in a smooth black silk nightgown, stood by the bed, gazing at her with a smile.

If she hadn't become much braver after entering the game, she probably would have had a heart attack from Arthur's presence, and her soul would have been scared out of her wits.

“Arthur, you—”

The cold scalpel pressed against Xia Linyin's cheek, its blade reflecting a chilling glint.

"Why did you run away? Didn't you say you wouldn't leave me?" Arthur asked quietly.

He moved the scalpel gently, his movements as tender as water, yet Xia Linyin felt a chill run down her spine.

Oh no, is Arthur going to settle scores later?

"Arthur, put the knife away first, let's talk this out." Xia Linyin carefully pushed Arthur's hand away and moved her head to the side.

The sharp scalpel was right there again, like a shadow. Arthur raised his other hand to cup Xia Linyin's face and said affectionately, "Baby, you promised me you wouldn't leave me."

"No, Arthur, I have to leave the town, or I'll die," Xia Linyin hurriedly explained. She dared not reveal too much about the game, fearing she would be eliminated. "I... I don't want to leave either."

Xia Linyin looked at Arthur sincerely and said, "Arthur, really, I have my reasons. I have a reason why I have to leave the town."

"Is that so?" Arthur asked quietly. Seeing Xia Linyin nod, he smiled and said, "You'll die if you don't leave me? Then I'll kill you now and eat you. That way, you won't leave me."

His smile was captivating, his blue eyes, brimming with laughter, were so beautiful, like the purest sapphire in the world. His gentle tone was like a lover's whisper, but Xia Linyin felt as if she had been placed in an ice cellar, as if someone had poured a bucket of cold water over her head in the dead of winter, chilling her to the bone.
