Chapter 388: Guarding Adri 13

There are several large forests around the city of Adri. There is no danger at the edge of the forest. There are generally ordinary animals. Even if there are magical beasts, they are weak and lowest-level ordinary magical beasts.

Ordinary monsters, like wolves and dogs, can easily defeat three at once as long as they have awakened their divine powers and have a weapon in their hands.

The knight can even have a 50-50 winning rate against the intermediate Warcraft.

The Knights are led by the Grand Master as the vanguard, responsible for clearing the way and exterminating dangerous monsters in the forest. Soldiers and laborers follow behind them, responsible for cutting trees, transportation, etc.

After riding in a horse carriage for two days, Lin Xiaoman felt like his butt was about to be shaken apart, but finally, he arrived at his destination.

The fastest knights on horseback have set up camp on the outskirts of the forest and established a base.

Although the later transport troops have not yet arrived, many skilled and brave knights have already entered the forest.

Ange was eager to try and kept wanting to go into the forest to kill prey, but was then hit with a ruler by Colin.

"Ange, hunting prey is the job of the knights. As a magician, your job is to find more magical plants so that when the blood moon comes, there will be enough medicine to heal the injured warriors."

Throughout the nation of Oger, most people are strong and healthy, rarely falling ill. The same is true of the people of Adri. Even when they fall ill, they tend to go to church and pray, relying on their own immune system to recover. They can handle minor illnesses on their own, while major illnesses can't be cured by medication. Therefore, there's little need for medicine on a daily basis.

However, when the Blood Moon arrives, medicine, especially wound medicine, is in great demand. Therefore, a large amount of medicine must be stored in the treasury to prepare for the Blood Moon every five years.

"Teacher, I understand." Unable to go hunting, Ang was listless.

After the reorganization was completed, Colin led the team, including Angel, Olena, Lin Xiaoman, Finger, two knight guards and eight medical apprentices, and entered the forest.

The forest here is not a tropical rainforest, but more like a mountain forest, so walking is not that difficult.

After walking for just over half an hour, they began to see more magical plants.

"Okay, let's start from here. Thor, Leah, you two will be on guard and pay attention to the safety of the surroundings."

"Yes, Master Colin."

"Angel, Olena, start identifying the magical plants."

"Yes, teacher."

With a clear division of labor, the group began to act.

Lin Xiaoman, a bystander with no mission, began to identify magical plants based on the knowledge he had learned recently.

"Little Amy, do you know which are the magical plants?" Colin asked in confusion when he saw Lin Xiaoman's behavior.

"I know, Grandpa Colin, I took notes and drew them all." Lin Xiaoman took out his notebook.

"Little Amy is amazing!" Colin praised with a smile, then gave a serious warning, "But many plants look similar, and it's hard to tell them apart just by looking at the surface. One might be a life-saving medicine, but another could be a deadly poison. If you find a magical plant, you have to tell it to Olena, okay?"

"Got it, Grandpa Colin."

Lin Xiaoman nodded obediently, but a row of black lines popped up in her heart.

This world has a weird setting!!

The reason why magic plants are called magic plants is because these plants have magical powers. Magicians can naturally distinguish which plants are therapeutic to humans and which are poisonous to humans without any learning.

This is a magician's innate skill, just like most people can distinguish between odors and fragrances, it is an innate ability.

Lin Xiaoman quickly pulled up a bunch of grass and moved closer to Olena. "Olina, help me take a look."

"Wow, Amy, you're amazing. They're all magical plants."

After the inspection, the plants were put into large sacks of the apprentices who were helping them.

"Olina, how do you tell the difference?"

Lin Xiaoman is still very curious about the magician's innate skill.

"Well, I don't know either. It's just a feeling. When I see it, I know that magical plant is good for us. Just like this one, it looks like it's edible, so that's it." As she spoke, Olena bent down and reached out to grab a half-meter-tall 'dandelion'. As soon as she touched it, she immediately let out a high-pitched scream, "Ah!!"

Olena was so frightened that her face turned pale and she fell to the ground.

"Be careful!" Ang rushed over just a few meters away, drew his sword, and was about to chop the monster with excitement, but where was the monster?

"What's wrong?" Angel looked at Olena in confusion.

"I, I...there is something strange over there." Orina pointed at the root of the dandelion and pulled Lin Xiaoman up.

"Hmm?" With a big hand stretching out, Ang pulled up the dandelion effortlessly.

On the dandelion branch, a fat caterpillar was exposed to everyone's sight.

"It's just a caterpillar." After putting away his sword, Ang squeezed his hand and caught the caterpillar in his hand. The caterpillar twisted and turned, looking like a fat maggot.

"Ah!" Olena couldn't help but scream again, waving her hands desperately, "Throw it away!"

With a flick of his hand, Ange threw the insect away, frowning and saying unhappily, "Olina, you're making a fuss out of nothing. This is a forest, there are caterpillars everywhere."

"Oh, how terrible. Caterpillars, so disgusting!" Olena said with a bit of grievance in her voice. She wiped her hand that accidentally touched the insect with a handkerchief with a bitter face.

"Olina, as a magician, how can you be afraid of caterpillars!"

"But I'm a girl. What girl isn't afraid of caterpillars?" Olena turned to look at Lin Xiaoman, "Amy, do you hate caterpillars?"

"I hate it too." Lin Xiaoman nodded, and added in her heart, "But I'm not afraid!"

"Angel, look, Amy also hates bugs." Olena became more assertive after finding an ally.

"but……"

"Okay, kids, stop arguing and continue collecting magic plants. Olena, you can wear gloves, or you can point them out and let Moby and Dodd do it." Colin spoke after noticing the movement here.

"Yes, teacher."

Olena nodded obediently, and Ange threw the dandelion to the apprentice without arguing and continued to look for useful plants.

"This tree... this tree... this one over here..." Orina stopped doing anything and just pointed.

The group worked hard to 'pull weeds' in the forest, and this continued for the next few days.
