Using "taking a shit" as an excuse, Lin Xiaoman squatted in the toilet to receive memories.
The original owner was Liu Ying, 32 years old this year. As Lin Xiaoman saw, she was the mother of two children. She currently lived with her own mother and her father had passed away.
Wang Cuiqing bought the house when she was in high school. It's located in Wu City, a small, economically reputable third-tier city. Although a bit old, it's spacious and comfortable, and it's also in a good school district, with a kindergarten and elementary school nearby.
Liu Ying is an accountant with a professional accountant certificate. With this certificate, she receives a large amount of registration fees every year. In addition, she has taken over accounts from more than a dozen small companies, and now she can earn more than 100,000 yuan a year.
I am only busy at the end of the month and the end of the year. I can also work from home on weekdays, so the work is very easy.
My husband is a soldier and is away from home all year round.
Although he only comes home for no more than half a month throughout the year, the man transfers his salary on time every month. Excluding the 2,000 yuan in alimony given to his parents-in-law every month, Liu Ying can receive 150,000 to 160,000 yuan in living expenses from her husband a year.
Liu Ying earns 300,000 yuan a year, though it used to be less. Wang Cuiqing also has a pension, so she has no financial pressure at all.
Although she is rarely with her husband, she does not live with her parents-in-law and there are no conflicts between them. Liu Ying, who lives with her two children and her mother and is in charge of the finances, feels that this life is still very comfortable.
She originally thought that she could raise her children comfortably, but unfortunately, God played a big joke on her. The world has changed, and the insects and animals have all mutated!
As an ordinary citizen, Liu Ying was not very well-informed. When Wang Cuiqing mentioned that stray animals had bitten people, neither of them thought too much about it.
It was not until a short while later that the young policeman Wang Yi downstairs reminded them to store more food at home, as the world was not peaceful and many missing cases had occurred in the city.
Obviously fearing to cause panic, Wang Yi spoke more tactfully.
But the two of them were not too stupid, and they immediately went to the supermarket to do some shopping.
Then, about two weeks later, the city went into a curfew, and no one was allowed to go out after 7 p.m. In the pitch-black night, I could clearly hear gunshots.
gun!
A real gun!
In Xia Country, the sound of gunfire definitely means something big has happened.
Less than a month after the curfew, cities began to lock down, and the internet was abuzz with panic. Perhaps the cover-up was no longer possible, as news broke on TV about an epidemic of zoonosis. Many animals had been infected and gone mad, biting anyone they encountered. The government dispatched the military to thoroughly clear the cities of stray animals, and urged all citizens to stay home.
It was obvious that the news was blocked. Liu Ying could not find out what exactly happened and could only check it online. From time to time, someone would break the news that there were man-eating lions, biting Tibetan mastiffs, and cat-sized insects in the city... Without exception, these posts would be deleted very quickly.
One night in December, in their neighborhood, right within her window's reach, Liu Ying saw an animal that looked like a Siberian tiger leap past, followed by a dozen motorcycles chasing after it, followed by the sound of gunfire.
During the December lockdown, community workers were still delivering food. At the end of the month, there was a heavy snowfall, which was said to be a worldwide heavy snowfall, and no country was spared, including those on the equator.
Snowflakes as big as goose feathers kept falling, and kept falling...
The whole world was covered in white.
Roads were blocked and communications were interrupted. Within half a month, water and electricity were cut off one after another, and society became somewhat uneasy.
In January, the sun finally came out, but as the snow melted, huge cockroaches began to crawl out of the sewers one after another.
The end of the world has officially begun.
There are big cockroaches, small cockroaches, lots of cockroaches, and many animals that have grown in size as if they had taken hormones. They bite people when they see them, and of course they will also kill each other.
It would be really difficult for two women with two children to survive without a golden finger, unless they were extremely lucky.
Liu Ying is obviously just unlucky. Once the social order collapses, this person becomes bad. Morality is nonsense when survival becomes a problem.
What happened next was rather dark. First, his house was broken into and he had to compromise for food, and then he fled all the way to the military base.
Many people died on the way to escape, including Wang Cuiqing and the little kid Chu Binbin. Liu Ying protected Chu Youyou and finally arrived at the base in Wu City after escaping death.
Unable to find a job, without food and without weapons, Liu Ying had to sell her body and struggle to survive in order to support herself and her daughter.
After living in the base for three months without dignity and in hardship, one day, a huge cattle-like creature like a prehistoric mammoth, accompanied by a group of hundreds of cattle as big as elephants, broke into the base.
After one encounter, they knew they could not win, so the armed forces in the base immediately abandoned the base and retreated.
Refugees like Liu Ying can only leave their fate to God.
Finally, after several days of running and hiding, the mother and daughter encountered a cockroach the size of a car. In her last moments, Liu Ying clutched the cockroach's legs tightly and screamed hysterically at her daughter, "Run! Run! Run!"
In front of her eyes was a sea of blood, and in her ears she could hear her daughter crying in fear. Liu Ying didn't hold on for long before she was bitten to death by a cockroach.
Lin Xiaoman shuddered involuntarily and touched his head.
Hiss... The heart-wrenching pain of having his head bitten off piece by piece is so realistic!
