It was around seven or eight in the morning, and the people in the village had already started moving around.
Seeing strangers suddenly appear in the village, the villagers seemed a little afraid. They looked at these strangers from time to time, but had no intention of getting close to them, and even avoided them.
"Master Saint, do you want to ask someone?"
Thinking of what Jeff said before he left, the man hesitated.
Although no one knew why Jeff said this, these words undoubtedly planted the seeds of doubt in everyone's hearts.
Abner raised his eyes and looked at the villagers who had taken a detour.
"Don't contact the villagers yet, look around first."
The group dispersed and finally gathered at the village entrance.
The village is not big and I can see it all in less than half an hour.
Small vendors operating as normal, farmers working in the fields, children playing on the streets, everything is normal.
The first few people who arrived stood by the path they came from yesterday.
The road surface was completely dry. The path stretched into the distance, hidden in the fog, and the forest seemed to become hazy.
They reported what they had seen.
"Master Shengzi, there doesn't seem to be any problem in this village."
That is, there are no monsters and no evil spirits.
Although I didn't sleep well last night, I didn't hear any unusual noises.
"Let's find someone to ask. Maybe someone knows where those people went before?"
"Yeah, I don't know whether what Jeff said is true or not."
That guy is very weird.
Mo Qin stood aside without saying a word, but looked at the villagers who were secretly looking at them in the distance.
"Are the villagers afraid of us?"
It's like seeing a flood or a monster.
They were wearing the uniforms of the Temple of Light, and few people on this continent did not recognize them.
What are the villagers afraid of?
And the fog around showed no sign of dissipating.
Elaine glared at Mo Qin, her hostility undisguised. She took a step forward and said to Abner:
"I'll go ask."
After getting permission, Elaine walked towards one of the women.
She had a gentle smile and a very good attitude.
But this good attitude did not infect the woman. She stepped back again and again, her face gradually turning pale.
"You, don't come over here!"
Elaine had never expected the woman to have such a big reaction. She quickly stopped and raised her hands to comfort the woman:
"Okay, okay, I won't go over there. Don't be afraid, I just want to ask you something."
The woman was not appeased at all, and her emotions became more and more agitated:
"I don't have anything to say to you! Stay away from me!"
"Get out! Get out!"
Elaine's smile froze. "We are not bad people. We are from the Temple of Light. If you have any difficulties, tell us and we may be able to help you..."
She tried to persuade the woman, but at this moment, a figure suddenly jumped out from the next room.
"ah!!"
A thin man came towards Elaine with a knife. She dodged in a hurry, but her arm was still cut.
After injuring someone, the man did not intend to stop, but instead rushed forward again with a knife in hand.
Click——
Abner cast a spell, and the ice froze the man's feet, pinning him to the spot, unable to move forward.
The restricted movement did not calm the man down. He twisted his body and waved the dagger, still not giving up the idea of stabbing people.
"What's going on? He seems to have gone crazy!"
Maybe madness was contagious, but the timid woman who had been dodging also pounced on Elaine.
Elaine was a clergyman after all, and the man's appearance just now was too sudden. She had already reacted by now.
The woman didn't hurt her.
But based on the principle of not hurting innocent people, she did not fight back but dodged.
The woman missed and when she tried to chase after him, she was restrained by a transparent circle of light.
Mo Qin did chant a spell this time. After all, there were so many people watching, and she didn't want to attract everyone's attention because of this matter.
Elaine bit her lip and stepped back holding her injured arm.
The fog around me had grown thicker at some point, and the houses in the distance were no longer visible.
The bound man and woman were still struggling. Their faces were hideous and their eyes were bloodshot. They looked like mad beasts with no rationality at all.
"Is this why Jeff doesn't allow us to get close to the villagers?"
"But why didn't he just say it?"
Someone came forward to check, "Why are they going crazy?"
I used to avoid them, but once they got close to me, I went crazy.
"It seems like it's being controlled by something."
"I don't know what happened to the others."
As if in response to them, several noises were heard from a distance.
Abner looked in the direction of the sound and said, "Go and take a look!"
Elaine didn't care about the injury on her hand and hurriedly followed.
Mo Qin originally planned to follow, but suddenly found that black threads were slowly wrapped around the halo that bound the woman.
As he shifted his gaze, he discovered that black threads also appeared on the ice beneath the man's feet.
Those black threads were corroding the magic that bound the two people.
To be on the safe side, Mo Qin gave the two of them another layer of physical protection - tying them up with ropes.
Now I don't have to worry about them running away.
By the time Mo Qin had tied up the two people, the others had already run away, leaving only Wenzel with her.
The fog became thicker and thicker, and visibility was only about four or five meters.
Mo Qin looked at Wenzel and asked, "Are we alone?"
