Chapter 24 Who is that man?

Chapter 24 Who is that man?

The three of them waited at the intersection, anxiously waiting for the truck to come back. After waiting for an unknown amount of time, Xie Liang's stomach started to growl at an inopportune moment.

When Lu Bubu heard this, he said, "The cart won't be back soon. Let's find something to eat first. We're starving."

The three of them walked along the road, looking around as they walked.

There was a house next to the road not far away, and they quickened their pace towards it.

Soon they arrived at the gate of the house.

Xie Liang covered his hungry stomach and said, "I don't think we need to go in. Even if there is food, what do you think it could be?"

Lu Bu leaned his head against the gate, his eyes fixed on the courtyard. He tilted his head and whispered to him, "You're right."

Xie Liang also looked into the yard as he did. There were two pig monsters in the yard, sitting on stools like humans.

Each of them held a cooked human leg in their hands, and their broad, flat pig mouths were sucking on a piece of leg bone that had been gnawed clean. They sucked it with relish, as if they couldn't wait to swallow the bone.

Xie Liang quickly retracted his head, feeling that he wasn't that hungry anymore...

"Let's go, this is really creepy!" Lu Bubu said and led the two of them along the road.

"What do you see in front?" Lu Bubu asked.

A pig monster walked down the road, holding a leash, the other end of which was tied to a person's neck. The person was crawling on all fours, covered in colorful fur, and from a distance looked like a pet dog with dyed hair.

"The pig monster's pet." Xie Liang said.

The pig monster walking on the road did not interfere when he saw them. He just looked at them with strange eyes and then went his own way.

They walked and stopped along the road, and before they knew it, they arrived at the entrance of the village, which looked like a market.

This simple market consists of open spaces on both sides of the road, and everything sold is what the pig monsters need to eat and wear daily.

On the tables on both sides were placed freshly slaughtered human flesh: the limbs hung on the iron racks were still dripping with blood, and the internal organs were sorted and piled in a corner of the table; next to each table was a large bucket of bright red plasma, and with the vibration of the pig monster chopping the meat, the blood in the bucket surged, and it looked still warm.

Xie Liang's scalp tingled as he watched, and he quickly averted his gaze. At this moment, the pig monsters looked at them with increasingly "intense" eyes, as if they were looking at something without an owner, and gradually surrounded them.

Lu Bubu shouted nervously, "Run!"

The pig monsters rushed over to try to catch them, and then started fighting for them.

Taking advantage of the chaotic scene, the three of them fled left and right.

Just then, a white tiger suddenly appeared in the market, walking upright. It was clad in a brown fur coat, with only its black and white head visible. While not as large as the pig monsters, its appearance caused all the pig monsters to stop fighting and respectfully step aside, making way for it.

After the pig monsters stopped fighting, Xie Liang and the other two standing in the middle of the road looked particularly awkward.

"Can we still escape now?" asked Lu Bubu.

"The chances of winning are slim. We are surrounded, but they seem to respect the white tiger very much." Xie Liang said.

"Look at the white tiger's neck!" Lu Bubu and Xie Liang shouted in unison.

Lu Bubu lowered his voice and said, "It looks like he's wearing a hood! Could he be one of us?"

"I don't know. They are numerous and powerful, so they will act according to the situation." Xie Liang responded in a low voice.

The three then decided not to resist and first figure out what role the White Tiger played in this small world.

Baihu walked towards them, tied their hands with ropes, and then strung them together with another rope. Then he carried the other end of the rope and walked towards a path.

It was evening, and the three men, having not eaten all day, were too lazy to struggle and let the white tiger drag them away. The white tiger took them into a house and locked them in a room filled with hay.

The haystack in the room was dry and soft, and Xie Liang lay on it, feeling somewhat drowsy. The three of them planned to rest for a while before prying the door open and going out to look for clues.

At this time, the footsteps of the white tiger were heard outside the door. It opened the door, walked straight to Xie Liang, took off the fur coat, put it on his shoulders, and pulled him out.

When Xu He saw Xie Liang being taken away, he stood up and wanted to chase him. Xie Liang whispered, "It doesn't look like it wants to kill me. Let's see the situation first and act accordingly." After that, he was pulled out by the white tiger.

Xu He and Lu Bubu followed quietly behind him.

Baihu took Xie Liang to a room that looked like a bedroom, made him sit on the wooden bed, then took out a bulging small cloth bag from the cupboard and handed it to him.

He opened it and saw some wild fruits inside.

Then, Baihu put his hands behind his neck and took off the hood on his head. Although his clothes and hairstyle were different, Xie Liang recognized him at a glance - it was the man from the previous copy.

Xie Liang was shocked: "Why are you here?"

"I can't stay here for long. This world rejects me." The man looked pale and a little weak.

Xie Liang thought about how he tricked him into escaping on the island, and couldn't help but say awkwardly: "I'm sorry, last time I..." He was interrupted by the man before he could finish his words.

"I'm leaving," the man said.

Xie Liang was confused: "Where are you going?"

The man reached out and touched his brow: "Xiaoliang, I will come to see you again."

Then, he pulled out a pitch-black dagger from his waist and swung it into the air. A fluorescent black crack appeared out of thin air.

The man stretched his legs and stepped into the crack, and soon disappeared along with the crack.

"Who are you?" Xie Liang shouted in the direction he disappeared.
