At night, the area around Happiness Courtyard was once again surrounded by passersby and police cars.
There was a lot of noise outside, but Rong Shang didn't go out to see what was going on. Instead, she stayed home to take care of Bai's mother, who was in a coma.
Half an hour later, the piercing sound of police sirens came from not far outside the window.
Bai's mother suddenly woke up with a start. She sat up abruptly from the sofa, and the quilt on her body fell to the floor as she moved.

The neighbors said they saw Mrs. Bai lying on the ground when they rushed over.
