As evening approached, Mu Jin and her group prepared to go out to celebrate, and invited Rong Shang to join them.
Rong Shang originally didn't want to join in the fun, but she saw Fang Xinyi constantly circling around Mu Jin and felt somewhat dissatisfied, so she simply agreed.
After the group left the school, An Chen walked out from behind, looking dejected.
He was in a bad mood today.
Lan Xi'er realized that he had followed her all the way, and only when they were finally far away from the school did she quicken her pace to catch up with him.
"Hi!"
An Chen was startled when someone suddenly tapped him on the shoulder.
When that familiar voice sounded from behind, he turned around, didn't even glance at the other person, and reached out to pull them into his arms.
The faint fragrance wafted over, and Lan Xi'er blushed, raising her arms to hug him back, "Achen."
"Achen, don't be sad, I'll stay with you."
She gently patted his back as if to comfort him. Lan Xier's gentle tone seemed to comfort him, and the boy hugged her tightly for a while before letting go.
At that moment, the white streetlights shone down, and An Chen lowered his head, his deep gaze fixed on her, "Xi'er."
"Thank you for still staying by my side."
"Mmm." Meeting his gaze, Lan Xi'er smiled and nodded before saying, "What can I do? I still like you."
She liked him, even though she knew he was dating Xia Yan.
But she just couldn't let go, and besides... she was also confident that she could make An Chen leave Xia Yan.
At the very least, the fact that he's meeting with her so frequently proves that he still can't let her go.
There were few people on the roadside at this time. Lan Xi'er stared at An Chen for a while, her heart racing. She mustered up her courage and tiptoed slowly toward the boy.
A moment later... she finally kissed him.
For a moment, An Chen's expression froze.
The moment she kissed him, for some reason, Xia Yan's beautiful face suddenly appeared in his mind.
Speaking of which, An Chen has been dating Xia Yan for three or four months, and he has never kissed her. At first, they only held hands, but recently, they haven't even held hands anymore.
Thinking of this, An Chen naturally thought of Mu Jin.
The thought of him getting closer and closer to Xia Yan recently made An Chen feel irritable. He frowned and subconsciously pushed Lan Xi'er away.
Unexpectedly, he rejected her, and Lan Xier was extremely embarrassed.
"Um, I..."
"I'm sorry, I couldn't control myself."
The girl lowered her head sadly. An Chen glanced at her; she was nervously fiddling with her fingernails.
An Chen pursed his lips, shook his head, and finally took Lan Xi'er's hand. "I'm sorry, I'm not in a good mood tonight. I feel a little tired. Let's go back."
"Oh." Lan Xier looked up. Seeing his lack of interest, she could only nod. "Alright then."
As they walked home together, Lan Xi'er thought about how tomorrow was the weekend and wondered if he still remembered their promise at the restaurant that day.
While they were talking, she casually asked, "Ah Chen, are we still going swimming tomorrow?"
"Honestly, I really want to learn to swim, but unfortunately I'm clumsy and I've never been able to learn."
"It's okay, if you want to learn, I'll teach you."
An Chen could easily see what Lan Xier meant by those words, but he didn't refuse. "I'll pick you up at the intersection near your house tomorrow afternoon."
"Okay." Overjoyed, Lan Xi'er immediately beamed with joy.
