Chapter 407 The Scumbag Who Transmigrated into a Post-Apocalyptic Novel (25)

"I bet he'll survive to the end."

In a room in Zone 1, someone whispered.

In front of them were countless screens that could track everyone who entered the mutated zone—from those who entered a few weeks ago to Cen Yu and his group who had just entered.

"Is that the angel you wanted?" someone asked, looking at He Yuxing, who was wrapped in a cloak.

“Yes.” The man who spoke had short brown hair and some freckles on his cheeks. “I think he would be a good addition to my collection,” he said.

“I think the one with the scar on her face is nice.” This time, it was a dark-haired woman who spoke.

They looked down at the "reality show" made up of wanderers and hunters from the wilderness. The towering buildings of the digital district were out of place with the post-apocalyptic scene. The wilderness was too dangerous, and they never went to such dangerous places, but they always liked to have fun in the wilderness.

"Joe, I heard you've let some of the servants escape again." The brown-haired man looked at Joe, who was wearing glasses.

“Five,” Joe said, raising his hand. “They should be…” He glanced at the big screen and quickly found the poor boy being stuffed into the belly of a monster. “Well, unfortunately, I don’t think they can reach the Corruption Zone.”

From beginning to end, these residents of the Degenerate Zone were merely tools for their amusement.

They knew where these people had gone, and the tracker on their necks was just a decoy.

The belief that they can actually escape undoubtedly adds to the watchability of this reality show.

"Don't you feel sorry for them?" the brown-haired man asked, looking at the screen.

The monster was about 2 meters tall, with a huge gash in its belly, and was folding Joe's servant and stuffing him into its stomach.

“It is somewhat pitiful,” Joe said after a few glances. “Well, maybe I’m just being a saint.”

As soon as he finished speaking, laughter erupted in the room, as if they thought he had told an extremely funny joke.

“Don’t do this.” Joe, dressed in a suit, protested by waving his fist… then gently pressed a button he pulled from his trouser pocket.

"Bang!"

The servant in the scene suddenly exploded, turning into dust along with the monster.

"Ugh." The brown-haired man made a vomiting gesture in disgust. "You're always like this, so utterly unattractive."

"And what about you?" someone in the room asked. "What do you want to do to the angels?"

He looked up at the white-haired "angel" on the screen, and at Cen Yu, who had just discovered the truth about the Virgin Mary—

Suddenly, an even more beautiful picture formed in his mind of his masterpiece: a white-haired angel standing behind Cen Yu, who was dressed in an indigo robe, and a black-haired man with his eyes lowered, holding the "holy child".

“I need to find another Holy Son,” he muttered.

Joe looked at him. "I heard he betrayed his boyfriend?" He was referring to the story of Cen Yu selling the angel to the brown-haired man.

“Yes,” the brown-haired man said nonchalantly. He had originally only wanted to hang the angel in his room, but now he had a bigger idea—he decided not to let Cen Yu leave and to make him part of his own work.

“Don’t you find it amusing?” he said to Joe. “A selfish man has become the Virgin Mary holding the Holy Child.”

"It's as interesting as the fact that even the lowest of the low can become angels."

"A twisted sense of humor," the black-haired woman said, shaking her head.

...

Cen Yu was unaware that their every move was being observed from a high vantage point by the nobles of District One.

After dealing with the staff at the haunted house entrance, he found the rest of the team and told them the secret of the Virgin Mary.

Soon all the NPCs in the park wearing indigo work clothes were eliminated. Although the clown was unwilling, he had no choice but to let them leave the Golden Paradise.

"You're just lucky," the clown muttered over the loudspeaker. "You won't have that kind of luck again."

Perhaps because Cen Yu discovered the secret of the Virgin Mary, the people in the team became noticeably closer to him.

They soon passed through the Golden Paradise and emerged from the mist into an abandoned pedestrian street.

The shopping street was nothing special, except for the ever-present fog... Cen Yu glanced around but didn't find anything strange.

It seems like this place really is just a shopping street before the apocalypse.

Once they entered the mutated zone, everything in their field of vision turned gray, and the sun overhead became nothing more than decoration.

“If we find a car, we can cross this place in just two days,” the monkey said to Cen Yu.

Driving is not recommended in the mutation zone because dungeons can appear suddenly.

"How many days will it take to walk?" Cen Yu asked.

“Based on our enhanced physical condition…” Jiang Min said, “it will still take about 10 days.”

The shopping street wasn't long; it wouldn't take more than fifteen minutes to get there. However, as the team approached the edge of the shopping street, they discovered that the other end of the street was shrouded in mist.

“It seems we can’t get through here immediately,” Cen Yu said.

Only when they temporarily resolve the troubles in the shopping street can the fog dissipate.

The team members understood this as well, so they returned to the entrance of the shopping street to carefully search for clues.

Cen Yu and He Yuxing entered a DVD store together. The store had the feel of something that would have appeared around the turn of the millennium, with walls covered with all kinds of movie posters and shelves full of DVDs.

There was a DVD player at the counter of the shop, but the TV was off. Cen Yu tried it and found that the TV could be turned on, so it seemed that there was a shop here.
