After leaving the shopping street, they found some canned food and water in an abandoned motel.
"It's only 20 days past its expiration date, it should still be edible." The monkey came out carrying several cans of food. "Produced a few years ago, from the wilderness."

He thought He Yuxing would ask him why, but He Yuxing just nodded and said, "I will go with you."
Cen Yu stood up. "What if I were to sell you?"
He Yuxing pondered for a moment, "Perhaps you have your reasons."
He looked up at Cen Yu, who had stood up. "I'll escape, don't worry." He flapped his wings a few times. "Then you can sell it a few more times."
Cen Yu looked down at He Yuxing and said, "It seems you really are love-struck."

Jiang Min remained tense; it was impossible for him to actually fall asleep in the mutated zone.
The hotel room doors were all ajar, so when he came to the door to tell Cen Yu that he could switch shifts with him, he overheard Cen Yu and He Yuxing's conversation.
When Jiang Min heard Cen Yu tentatively ask He Yuxing, he immediately stopped in his tracks. He stood through the crack in the door, looking at Cen Yu and He Yuxing not far away.
He didn't have much interaction with He Yuxing, and only felt that this person was too quiet. Just when he was wondering how he would answer, he heard He Yuxing's answer, "You have your reasons."
Jiang Min's hand trembled, and he almost couldn't help but make a sound.
When Jiang Min heard Cen Yu say that He Yuxing was love-struck, he was about to nod when he noticed that He Yuxing's gaze slowly shifted to the crack in the door. In that instant, even though Jiang Min was certain that He Yuxing shouldn't be able to see him from that angle, he still felt that He Yuxing had seen him.
Then He Yuxing smiled in his line of sight and started talking to Cen Yu again.
Jiang Min frowned, wondering why he felt a little uneasy.

"Stop," he said to the man. "A wanderer? Or a hunter?"
The man was wearing a coat. Hearing this, he immediately stopped and raised his hands. "I'm a homeless person," he said to Cen Yu, taking a few steps back. "I just want to find a place to rest for a while."
Seemingly worried that Cen Yu wouldn't believe him, he immediately added, "I entered here a week ago."
“This place was normal before. My friend told me there was a motel nearby where I could rest.”
"But soon after I arrived in this area, I suddenly found that the surroundings had become a mutated zone." The man in the gray coat said with difficulty, "I'm so hungry..." He looked at Cen Yu pleadingly, "Just a little food will do."
