The monsters that entered screening room number 5 weren't too strong.
With the help of the spray, it quickly piled up into a small mountain at the entrance of the screening room.
Although the monsters weren't very intelligent, they could sense that they were up to no good here. The remaining humanoid monsters with long arms and legs simply changed direction and headed in other directions.
Cen Yu and He Yuxing inevitably got their clothes splattered with the monster's blood.
He Yuxing glanced at the bloodstains on his body with a bit of disgust... He was about to ask Cen Yu if he had thrown these monsters out when he saw the other person squat down and start smearing monster blood on himself.
He Yuxing: "?"
He squatted down as well, and without saying a word, Cen Yu smeared more of the monster's blood on him.
Then, after the next wave of monsters arrived, they found a gap in the monster "hill" in front of them and squeezed He Yuxing and themselves inside.
The two of them lay down in the small mountain made up of layers of monsters. There were too many of these monsters, but fortunately they weren't too heavy. Although they looked like they had long arms and legs, they didn't actually weigh much on them.
In addition, there is almost no extra light in the movie theater, so unless you carefully observe the monster mound, it is difficult to see that there are two humans mixed in.
Cen Yu slowed his breathing; all around him were the monster's face, which only had one mouth.
"It's an eyesore," Cen Yu thought, and simply stared at He Yuxing, who was hiding beside her.
Because they were so close, he could feel He Yuxing's breath right at his neck... The other's wings were also curled up in a pitiful manner. Cen Yu lay in the pile of monsters, feeling that the scene was extremely absurd.
Because his view was obstructed, he couldn't actually see the scene in the corridor clearly.
He lay amidst the monsters, with He Yuxing half-lying on his side, his arm hesitating for a moment before finally resting on his waist.
Perhaps worried that Cen Yu would make him let go, He Yuxing pretended to be dead after doing these little tricks and refused to look at Cen Yu.
Cen Yu: "..." Is he some kind of vicious person?
Hidden among the monsters, the two could only sense each other through the stench of the monsters in their breath.
He Yuxing's body temperature wasn't high, but Cen Yu could feel that he was using some force to hold his arm around him. When he looked up, he could see the monster's gaping mouth, frozen in the moment before its death.
They embraced in the post-apocalyptic Oasis Cinema, surrounded by monsters, and for a moment Cen Yu almost laughed.
They seem to be acting in some absurd and terrifying romantic comedy.
At this moment, all that remained for the audience were the monsters surrounding them. Even the nobles of the district, who were constantly monitoring them, could not see their movements through the layers upon layers of monster corpses.
The countdown began over the loudspeaker, seemingly telling the people in the Oasis Cinema how long this round of monsters would last.
...
The monkey was hiding in the bathroom.
He removed the part of the ceiling that was covering the pipes that had been laid at the time—the space above was cramped, but since monkeys can turn into "paper people," it wasn't a big problem for him.
Soon he heard singing coming from the movie theater, and he knew it was a signal that the monster was coming.
The bathroom hadn't been used for years, and a thick layer of dust had accumulated on the floor. The monkey deliberately ran around the bathroom and the doorway several times to blur his footprints.
The removed parts were carefully covered up again, and the monkey waited quietly.
Soon, a rustling sound, accompanied by singing, appeared in the corridor.
The monster was unhurried, as if it were treating the movie theater as a hunting ground.
The cinema corridors were carpeted, except for the area near the restrooms, which was tiled. The monkey could clearly hear a peculiar rustling sound, as if it were the sound of limbs rubbing against the carpet.
He dared not look, fearing the monster would notice.
The monster wasn't moving fast, and it kept humming a tune he couldn't understand.
Upon reaching the tiled floor at the toilet entrance, the rustling sound quickly turned into the sound of skin touching the ground.
The monkeys dared not make the slightest sound.
But soon, the sound changed to something else. The monkey felt that the sound came from all directions, and he really couldn't pinpoint the monster's location... Soon the sound disappeared, and it sounded like the monster had left.
The monkey lay motionless in the crevice.
He could hear the countdown. The toilet was quiet, as if the monster had left after realizing that no one was there.
The monkey still dared not take the risk; he waited quietly in the crevice.
He only breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the countdown, which signaled the end of this round of monsters, finally reach 0.
He wasn't going to stay there any longer. The monkey carefully peeled off the part he had removed and peered through the crack at the bathroom floor.
There were some messy marks on the ground, indicating that some monster had indeed been here.
The ground was now empty, and just as he was about to jump down, he suddenly noticed a series of marks on the wall... which then gradually disappeared into the ceiling.
The monkey sensed something was wrong and slowly turned its head away.
Then I saw a monster with countless hands, like a millipede, hanging upside down from the ceiling.
The monster's hands seemed to have suction cups, allowing it to stick tightly to the ceiling. It had a human face, a face that seemed to belong to some dead hunter.
It opened its mouth and emitted a human voice—
"hello……"
The monkey immediately jumped down, with the monster following closely behind.
Fortunately, as the countdown ended, the other team members in the movie theater also emerged from their hiding places.
