[Host, I've hitched a ride back in a police car and am watching your show at Su Zhe's house~]
The Black Cat System and Su Zhe were also glued to the television, watching Yu Ling's variety show live via an online channel. Su Zhe even bought a bag of expensive cat food for the poor cat that Yu Ling had thrown away, as compensation.
"Okay, wait for me to get home," Yu Ling said.
The dense forests in the eastern wilderness are fraught with danger. Although the program team has checked and found no fatal danger, small and diverse insects are common in the forest, and mosquito bites are hard to avoid.
Li Dan and Yu Ling walked through the bushes deeper into the area, trying to find a slightly open place to set up camp.
But all around was lush greenery and visibility was very low, so Li Dan could only wander around aimlessly, while Yu Ling kept observing the surrounding environment to see if there were any good materials suitable for building a dwelling.
Finally, the two found a slightly more spacious area under a big tree. Just as they were about to stop and rest, Li Dan suddenly noticed something move in the grass not far from his feet!
"What is that?" Li Dan was startled and immediately became alert.
Hearing the sound, Yu Ling looked over, feigning concern, and leaned closer, asking softly, "What's wrong?"
"Shh..." Li Dan gestured for her to be quiet, while carefully observing the patch of grass.
Sure enough, in the grass, a small black snake was flicking its tongue, seemingly waiting for its prey to take the bait.
Yu Ling deduced that the snake was probably non-venomous, otherwise the cameraman next to her would have reported it to the production team long ago, but Li Dan's heart skipped a beat.
Although it wasn't the first time he had seen a snake, he had never encountered a non-pet snake roaming freely in the woods before, so he couldn't help feeling scared.
However, under Yu Ling's calm and collected gaze, and thinking about the strong persona his company had created for him, Li Dan quickly calmed down.
He slowly squatted down, raised his hand and slowly approached the small snake. When he was about three meters away from it, he directly pinched the snake's head below its head.
Although it is said that you should strike a snake at its vital spot, pinching its head to prevent it from opening its mouth is also a good option. Li Dan swung his arm and flung it out, and the snake flew out, but then fell back to the ground and crawled back into the grass.
\"call--\"
On camera, Yu Ling let out a long sigh of relief, patted her chest, and gave Li Dan a thumbs-up: "Well done!"
Li Dan grinned and said, "It's alright."
After exchanging a few compliments, the two continued walking inside. Along the way, Yu Ling and Li Dan caught several more non-venomous small snakes.
"Where did the production team get all this from? We don't even know if it's edible..."
Yu Ling muttered something under her breath. Li Dan was about to agree, but then remembered that he and his teammates hadn't gotten to the point of being familiar with each other yet, so he swallowed his words.
Just then, the two saw several large trees with thick trunks and lush foliage not far away. The trees had thick canopies and protruding roots that effectively kept out the soil and insects, making it the perfect place to set up camp.
"This place is so spacious, let's choose this spot to complete the task of setting up camp!" Li Dan said excitedly.
Yu Ling shook her head, "No!"
"Why not?"
"Look, the tree canopy is so high, blocking out the sunlight. The shade is so dense, there's definitely no sun here."
Yu Ling argued,
"The forest is already damp, and it's even worse on rainy days. We definitely won't be able to spend the night there. Let's go over there!"
“But there are trees everywhere, and there’s not much open space to put two people in.” Li Dan was still a little hesitant.
"Who says you can't camp in trees? Besides, we definitely can't light a fire for warmth in the woods. It's better to be safe. I see there's a lot of dry bark over there that can provide shelter from the wind and rain. Go find some vines or soft branches, and leave the building to me."
Actually, setting up camp in an open space isn't bad except for being a bit damp and cold, but Yu Ling just wanted to finish the task quickly and avoid the show's boring punishments. Building a nest in the air by picking up ready-made branches from the trees was easier than building a house by hand.
But Yu Ling's weaving was so skillful that it really fooled Li Dan.
"Okay, I'll do as you say." Li Dan gave a thumbs-up in approval and turned to go find the rattan cane.
Yu Ling found a few pieces of fallen bark nearby to use as makeshift furniture, and also found a few thick tree trunks and chopped a slit in them with her bare hands to support the branches she had prepared as a bed.
Soon, less than half an hour had passed. While the cameraman kept taking close-up shots of Yu Ling's hands, an aerial vine nest that could accommodate three to five people was almost finished (the cameraman still needed to be put inside).
Originally, the Pidan team's live stream was full of mockery, but as they watched Yuling's nest being built at a breakneck pace, the comments gradually changed their tone.
—Holy crap, a straight 6! This guy's got some skills.
So, was he a savage in his past life?
—What do you need to bring for wilderness survival? Food, water, compass (x) and Han Hao (√).
—Look at Li Dan's open mouth, hahaha, although I'm the same way (doge).
...
[Host, did you gain experience from building the bamboo house in the last mission? You only took this little time this time, that's great!]
The black cat system watching the live stream was also munching on cat food and cheering for Yu Ling. Su Zhe's face was expressionless, but the upturn of the corners of his mouth was impossible to hide.
These two started spontaneously creating online aliases to act as online trolls, constantly boasting about how awesome their hosts/artists were.
