As a lazy bum who aspires to slack off and rely on healing to sustain his life force, 'Klosen' is naturally not going to be so attentive when the two sides are fighting, and he will not reveal his true combat abilities, always acting as a delicate mascot.
This directly led to the fact that after Alaman encountered danger, the protagonist group had no strong ability to resist. The dark mages, who were losing the original owner's restraint and becoming increasingly harmful to others and themselves, simply kidnapped her right in front of Chad and the others.
Ansel has returned to the capital. The two sides are vastly different in number, making this battle inherently difficult. With their teammates in trouble, the others are frozen in place as if their pressure points have been struck. It's too dangerous for a girl like Alaman to be captured; she could very well face endless torture from the dark mages.
"Hey, let me go! What do you want?!"
Alaman tried to struggle but to no avail. A water-type character who only dealt with area-of-effect attacks lacked burst damage and was unable to break free from their dark magic domain. He couldn't even send out his shouts.
"Hahaha, I thought Chad was so arrogant, why isn't he fighting now!" A rough, hoarse male voice rang out from beside Alaman, and then a dirty hand reached out and touched Alaman's face.
This action made Alaman feel disgusted and he glared angrily at the owner of the hand.
However, his teammates had already been beaten helplessly because they had used him as a bargaining chip. Al-Alaman dared not provoke them easily, not because he was afraid of getting hurt, but because he was afraid that Chad would get hurt because he was worried about him.
"Oh ho, quite the temper, huh!" The dark mage holding her chuckled, looking at Alaman's angry little eyes. "But no matter how much you glare at me, it won't do any good. You and your dear friends will fall into our hands sooner or later anyway."
Upon hearing this, Alaman closed her eyes in despair. She knew she had no choice but to accept her fate. She was well aware of her perilous situation. The other party wasn't stupid and wouldn't show mercy just because Chad had conceded. However, her only option was to submit, which would only lead to an even more gruesome death.
The other dark mages exchanged glances, then grinned as they approached Chad and Bob, who were putting up a fierce fight.
Oh, and there's also the lazy bum 'Closon' who needs to be protected by two people.
"Don't move! Otherwise, that water-element girl will suffer a... terrible punishment... hehehe..."
The leading dark mage chuckled, his attacks showing no sign of abating. 'Klosen' only saw a flash of black light before the two people beside him had already fainted...
Is the main character's shelf life really that short? How come he's become so weak now!
In fact, this was because Roy's 'death' made those dark mages feel that life was more difficult. Every single one of them took their lives seriously and used the dark magic they dared not use before, which made it difficult for Chad to cope.
But whatever the reason, Chad and his team failed, and even 'Closon' had to pretend to faint along with them.
\"Hahaha!\"
A burst of unrestrained mockery rang out, and then a group of dark mages led Chad and his companions into the basement of one of their secret bases, where each of them was tightly bound.
When Chad slowly regained consciousness, he felt a cold dagger suddenly pressed against his neck.
"Hey Chad, you were happy to kill Lord Roy, weren't you? Did you ever think you'd end up like this? Probably not, otherwise why is your face so pale, hahaha..."
The cold dagger pressed against Chad's skin, sending a chill down his spine and making him shiver involuntarily. Looking in the direction of the sound, he saw a ferocious-looking man standing in front of him, laughing wildly.
"You... release them, and I'll do whatever you want with them."
"That's impossible, hehe... I love hearing your rebellious side; your wailing would be really interesting!"
The man grinned, then with a sudden burst of strength, the sharp dagger pierced Chad's neck, and blood immediately gushed out.
'Klosen' wasn't dizzy at all. Hearing the noise, he opened his eyes and saw Chad's blood-curdling appearance. He almost threw a wood-type healing spell at him.
Fortunately, he held back; otherwise, the fact that he wasn't imprisoned would have been exposed.
Chad wasn't afraid that the man was going to kill him directly. If that were the case, he wouldn't have needed to wait for Chad to wake up before making his move, would he?
Only by not following their wishes could he find a chance to escape with his teammates. He endured it!
"Heh heh, don't even think about running away. Today I'll send you all to hell to keep Lord Roy company, hahahaha..."
The grotesque-looking dark mage laughed even more triumphantly.
Chad didn't answer, but he was thinking of a solution, though he couldn't come up with one for the time being.
He hadn't figured it out, but the group of dark mages had figured out how to torture this guy who had always been trying to kill them all; their faces were full of cruelty and excitement.
"Go, bring that woman here..."
A familiar figure struggled to be brought up; it was Alaman, one of the first to be captured. Judging from her attire, she seemed to be in relatively good condition for now, but given her current state, things might change soon...
The dark mages were even more satisfied to see Chad's ever-changing expression.
Alaman struggled in vain, finally giving up as if resigned. He simply looked at Chad, his eyes filled with complex emotions—a mixture of sadness, pain, and resentment at his own powerlessness…
She sighed, then turned to the dark mage beside her and said:
"Do whatever you want, just don't do it in front of them, okay?"
"Of course... no way! We want Chad to see this scene clearly!"
As they spoke, they pulled a bottle of medicine from their pockets and fed it to Alaman.
"Cough cough cough..." Alaman coughed violently a few times. The medicine took effect quickly, and her face slowly turned red, looking very bad.
Bob woke up and saw Alaman looking unwell. He immediately launched into a tirade of the most filthy and foul-smelling curses. Chad remained silent, but 'Closon' hesitated behind his mask.
He pretended to be captured, not to be tortured, but to recruit more henchmen for his side quest.
This guy who keeps talking about Lord Roy seems pretty good...
