Chapter 428 Hellish Demons Must Save Themselves (Part Thirteen)

“Angels’ power is inherently superior to demons. Even if I lend you all my power, I still can’t defeat them.” Yu Ling rested his chin on his tiny hand and flew through the air in a pacing motion. “I only have one way to save you now: temporarily abandon everything you have in the human world and go hide in hell.”

Hell is just a bit more demonic and the environment is a bit harsh, with no food or drink at all, but it's a huge place!

Although the angels will find excuses to invade Hell after they conquer the human world, Abram's power will not be suppressed like it is on Earth once he is in Hell, making him much safer than he is here.

Abram had no attachment to this place; he was prepared to die quietly in a corner. He never expected that Yu Ling, a demon, would stand by him at this critical moment and risk her life to come and save him.

"I will obey your command, my lord." He knelt down again, his posture obedient and respectful even though the demon before him was only the size of a palm. "Even if I have to stay in hell, I can manage."

Yu Ling was pleased that the apostle she had just picked up was quite obedient. She found a one-way spatial rift nearby that could accommodate low-level demons traveling from Hell to the human world, and used her divine soul power and the demon's inherent connection to Hell to modify a reverse passage and send Abram inside.

[Host, the nearby angels have sensed the commotion and are heading this way.]

The lookout system reminded Yu Ling.

[They absolutely cannot discover the host's soul power, otherwise the angels, skilled in tracking, will definitely capture us immediately.]

Yu Ling: "You're right."

He opened the system shop, scrolled to the interface for purchasing a body for the system, selected a low-level demon with similar attributes to the original owner, and clicked to purchase.

"To ensure your hosts remain undetected, the crucial task of luring them away is entrusted to you."

System: I knew this day would come!

But I can't beat them. How could a low-level demon possibly defeat a group of angels in their true forms?

“Walk around them once, then you’ll be teleported back to Hell by the power of my contract with Abram. Just hold them off for three to five minutes, making sure this spatial passage disappears unnoticed.”

This system is still so incompetent, I find it disgusting!

Yu Ling packed up her weakling brother and the system and sent them away, then nestled back into Charlie's body.

However, Bradley has yet to find an opportunity to send his 'weak little brother' Yu Ling back to heaven.

The enraged killing angels vented their pent-up emotions on innocent demons. Some of these foolish demons, fresh out of hell and having done nothing wrong, were smashed to pieces the moment they appeared.

Low-level demon: Am I some kind of lowly thing?

Lacking power and the authority to act like demons, they didn't even have a chance to appeal. They passed away peacefully, but this didn't calm Bradley down. Instead, they became increasingly frenzied in their killing, even taking over Mitchell's missions so they could finish their tasks sooner and slack off.

Yu Ling knew none of these things.

Only he, as an angel, was active, and the angel Yu Ling didn't want to really clean up the human world too much, so that her own body still inside Charlie would be very conspicuous. He slacked off, did the tasks casually, pretended to be reluctant, and used the bloody and cruel scenes of the wounded to avoid many tasks.

This made him appear increasingly kind, approachable, and gentle in the eyes of the angels.

To avoid missions and unnecessary social interactions, Yu Ling simply moved into the church dedicated to God. She got along well with the bishops and monks there. This "well" only meant that they weren't cold to her; in reality, no human would dare to befriend an angel.

The result of confining yourself is that even when you're dragging the progress bar, you're still in the most isolated position.

Yu Ling originally only wanted to slack off for a few days, but Bradley, having repeatedly tried to come and help her slack off without success, caused a huge commotion. Before the logistical work of restoring the human world could get back on track, the progress of the battle with the demons was skyrocketing.

By the time Yu Ling hears about Bradley, they're about to be sent to hell.

This plan Joyce devised was quite different.

Yu Ling was too far away and wasn't in the lead in the fight, so she couldn't get involved and was completely helpless. However, she wondered why Mitchell, who seemed so calm and rational, was joining Bradley in this nonsense.

The truth behind what Yu Ling was curious about was—

Mitchell was tricked by Bradley.

The Angel of Light yearns for hope and light, and possesses confidence, courage, optimism, and cheerfulness—qualities Bradley lacks. However, such people are also the easiest to deceive, because those who are willing to do anything as long as they wave the banner of justice are easily used as pawns.

Aside from God the Father, Bradley had absolutely no connection with any of his fellow angels; he was incredibly indifferent.

If he's unhappy, he'll naturally drag everyone else down with him.

Besides Yu Ling, another high-ranking demon cannon fodder pushed out by Hell, before even having a chance to play a role, was dealt a heavy blow by the fast-forwarded plot.

I've only spent a few hundred years in Hell, how come angels can descend to Earth so casually now?

The cannon fodder demon didn't understand, and he didn't have a chance to wait. However, this demon was different from the one Joyce released. After coming to the human world from hell, he was like a wild horse that had broken free of its reins, causing trouble and destruction everywhere. He didn't care about human lives. Fighting him would cause more damage than chasing that group of low-level demons together.

When Mitchell was capturing a demon, he accidentally injured an ordinary human. In an attempt to make up for his mistake and save the human, he repeatedly lost track of the demon.

Bradley only occasionally mentioned in his ear that if things continued like this, the demon who controlled the back-and-forth between hell and earth would cause even greater harm sooner or later.

It would be better to... just chase him down to hell and wipe him out.

Surely fighting in hell won't harm innocent people?

Mitchell: Although Bradley still has that annoying way of talking, he makes a lot of sense.

Despite Bradley's repeated assurances that he would only secretly kill one demon and return, Mitchell believed his lies and actually followed him into hell.

But once he entered hell, the scene was... quite different from what he had imagined.

This is completely different from his plan to quickly and secretly defeat the two archangels, Bradley, and return to report!

He's here, Bradley's here, but how did those eleven angels under the Angel of Death come in too?!
