Chapter 1666 Tired (The End)

Jin Fei always thought that she was all alone and no one in the world could understand her. Her mother only wanted her to get married, as if life had no meaning if she didn't get married and have children.

It seems that marriage and having children have become an obsession for the mother, regardless of whether her daughter is happy or not, only whether she has a boyfriend.

Other people's discussions and opinions seemed incredibly important to her. She was exhausted, having to deal with her mother's pressure to get married every time she came home. But now her mother understood her...

At this moment, it seemed that she no longer needed to pretend to be strong and could let go of all her weaknesses.

Hearing the noise inside, Mo Yan looked at the other person and said, "Excuse me, I have something to do here. How about we talk another day?"

The woman wasn't oblivious to the situation, so she stood up and said she was leaving, "Okay, I'll be going now. We can chat again another day."

Mo Yan didn't go in. Jin Fei needed to be alone for a while, so she went to the kitchen and made a bowl of sweet fermented rice balls. The sweet fermented rice balls were made from glutinous rice flour. She added some hot water, kneaded it, and pinched it into small balls. The sweet fermented rice was bought from the supermarket, which the original owner had prepared long ago.

The house had all the things her daughter liked to eat, but for some reason, the mother and daughter always ended up arguing. The daughter, Jin Fei, would leave in a huff, while the original owner cried as she looked at all the things she had prepared.

They were all very tired.

After finishing, Mo Yan brought it in to Jin Fei and told her to eat it while it was hot, "Your favorite sweet fermented rice balls."

Seeing Tangyuan, Jinfei quickly got up, her eyes red as she slowly ate it.

Mo Yan reached out and patted her head. "You're such a grown-up, and you're still crying. Aren't you ashamed?"

Jin Fei chuckled and pouted, saying, "Don't be shy, no matter how old I am, I'll always be your little princess, right?"

Mo Yan nodded and smiled at her, "Of course, I always want you to be happy, but Mom is old and doesn't understand the thoughts of you young people. I don't know how to make you happy, so I can only clumsily cook for you, making the foods you liked to eat when you were little."

Jin Fei's nose tingled with tears as she heard these words. It was the first time she realized that the mother she remembered had truly aged.

"Mom, don't worry, I'm fine." She sniffed, thinking about the unpleasant things at work, then shook her head, trying to clear her mind of those thoughts. "Mom, I'm doing well at work, just a little busy, so I can't come back all the time."

Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself. I'll eat on time and wear more clothes when it's cold.

When I was little, I would tell my mom if I felt wronged, and I would cry and go home to ask her to make a decision for me. But as I grew up, I hoped that my mom wouldn't interfere too much. I wanted to be fine on my own, even if I was a complete mess, so that my mom at home wouldn't worry.

"Okay, I understand."

Mo Yan told her to eat something, saying it would make her feel better.

Jin Fei was taken aback, thinking that her mother would continue to nag for a long time, but to her surprise, she didn't.

"Mom...did I make you angry?"

"How could that be? I'm so happy that you can come home to see me. I look forward to these few days every year. I hope you can have a good rest when you come home, sleep until you naturally wake up, eat whatever you want, and don't have to worry about anything or force yourself."

Jin Fei's life may be tough, but there's always a place that makes you feel a little sweet, don't you think?

Home is a place that you think of when you feel wronged, a place you want to return to.

I would tell myself that if I really couldn't hold on any longer, then I should go home.

"Yes, thank you, Mom."

Jin Fei felt better after eating and went out with Mo Yan.

Mo Yan told Jin Fei where all the land in her family's property was located, and what she had prepared for her.

This puzzled Jin Fei, as she hadn't encountered many people along the way. Perhaps it was because everyone was busy with the upcoming Chinese New Year.

On her way home, Jin Fei kept asking her mother, "Mom, aren't you going to introduce me to any blind dates this year? You used to keep urging me to find a boyfriend. Why did you suddenly change your mind this year?"

She was a little curious whether her mother had truly come to terms with things or was simply using a strategic retreat as a pretext for advancement.

"Your mother always hoped that you could find a boyfriend as soon as possible, so that someone could take care of you."

But then I thought about it, and realized that there aren't many perfect things in this world. It's better to just hope that you can take care of yourself.

I used to care a lot about people saying I wasn't married yet, but actually I cared about you, not other people.

I'm worried that the men you meet in the future won't be good men.

You know that Mom has always stayed in the village and doesn't know what the outside world is like, but in our village, it's getting harder and harder to find a good man.

The older women are either divorced or have children, especially the very successful ones. They got married early, and I worry that you might end up marrying someone with children. Being a stepmother is so hard and painful.

Things are different now. Mom has come to terms with it. My daughter will learn to take care of herself no matter what she encounters in the future.

This home will always be your haven; when you're sad or upset, be sure to come back and visit.

This place will always be a home for you, and your mother will be here waiting for you.

When it gets cold, wear more clothes; when you're unhappy, relax; if you're not happy at work, change jobs.

If you don't want to live in a big city, then come back to your hometown.

Life at home isn't as fast-paced, and it won't make you feel as uncomfortable.

Mom used to think you were growing up too slowly, but now she feels that time is passing too quickly.
