Chapter 18 I Became the Evil Mother-in-Law in the Entertainment Industry

Seeing the displeased looks from everyone, Mo Bei immediately turned to them.

"Honey, please don't do this. We're so sorry, we really feel bad."

An Ran had completely forgotten. Seeing everyone glaring angrily at them, she could only tell herself to apologize for now.

"Your apologies are completely insincere," Mo Yan said, her face darkening. Then she looked at everyone.

"Let's eat first. Since they've forgotten, they don't need to eat."

Netizens commented: "Forgetting their own mothers is shameless enough, but making everyone wait for them is utterly shameless."

Netizen: [Does Mo Bei really think that saying that is a sign of being a good husband?]

Netizen: [This is just too rubbish.]

Netizen: [Do you think someone like this would feel embarrassed or apologetic? They'd probably feel wronged.]

The others sat down to eat, and the moment they tasted the soup of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, their eyes narrowed.

"Mo Yan, your cooking is so delicious! Watching you cook is a real treat."

Even the two daughters-in-law drank two bowls and ate everything inside.

All the dishes were eaten clean.

Finally, Mo Yan even brought out some pastries to help with digestion.

Their eyes lit up, and they continued eating.

It's so delicious!

It dispelled all their unhappiness.

After dinner, everyone can go home. There are new tasks next week.

"Our mission next week will be very interesting, and I'm sure you'll all enjoy it."

The director's words piqued their curiosity, but he simply wouldn't say.

Once home, Mo Bei suddenly exploded.

"Mom, why didn't you speak up for us just now? Are you happy that everyone dislikes us?"

Seeing Mo Bei like this, Mo Yan walked straight over and slapped him across the face.

He was hitting her while tears welled up in his eyes.

“It’s my fault for not raising you well. You’ve become so selfish. You can’t even care about me, your mother, but you made everyone wait for so long. And you take it for granted that everyone should forgive you. Where’s your shame?”

Luo Luo's hand was shaking after she slapped him, and she immediately pulled her hand back.

He turned around and went straight back to his room.

She was afraid she wouldn't be able to resist killing that ingrate.

Netizen: [I saw that Teacher Mo's hands were shaking; she had only slept for three hours.]

Mo Bei was still in shock when his mother actually hit him, in front of the entire nation, showing him absolutely no respect.

"Honey, it's okay. I'm here, and I'm worried about you. I'll be with you forever. Please believe me, okay?"

Hearing this, Mo Bei felt a little better and took An Ran's hand, hugging her tightly in his arms.

"I know she doesn't love me at all; she just wants to control me."

Netizen: [You're ready to fly now.]

Netizen: [What kind of nonsense are you thinking about?]

Netizen: [Can't you guys ever see your own problems, you trash?]

Netizen: [He was clearly only thinking about having fun, making everyone wait...]

Netizen: [I used to like a piece of trash...]

Meanwhile, Mo Yan was already asleep.

Hmm, she slept quite soundly.

Mo Yan woke up early in the morning, had a good sleep, and finally recovered somewhat.

When Mo Yan woke up, she saw everyone dismantling the cameras.

"We won't be filming here next time, Teacher Mo. See you next time."

"Okay, see you next time."

After they left, Mo Yan made breakfast. Then she looked at the two of them.

"Since you're so capable, then move out."

After saying that, Mo Yan prepared to go back. She had missed everyone for three days.

I wanted to see what the children were doing, and even more so, I wanted to see her flowers.

Of course, before that, she sold the house and donated all the money to a Hope Primary School.

I hitched a ride with the production team, which is a good opportunity to do something meaningful.

Back at school, life returned to normal. Classes consisted of preparing food and giving students a hard time with their papers.

She wasn't surprised at all when Mo Bei came to visit; in fact, she was quite looking forward to it.

Mo Bei was very angry. Only after it was over did he look at his own comments. He thought he should at least be portrayed as a good husband, but somehow he was seen as an ungrateful and unfilial son.

He watched the playback but found no problem. It was just because his mother wasn't cooperating. If she had cooperated a little, everything would have been different.

He also found out after checking that his mother actually owned so many shops and properties, which meant that he should have been a rich second-generation, but instead he was allowed to grow up normally.

He took out his house key, but he couldn't open it no matter what he did.

You can only knock on the door.

Mo Yan opened the door and saw Mo Bei looking furious.

Mo Yan found a bamboo whip, the same kind used in the classroom. It's not used anymore these days, but it used to be.

It's especially useful for hitting people.

Mo Yan sat down on the sofa as soon as she entered, looking at Mo Bei.

"Tell me what you came here for. Don't tell me you missed me; you don't even believe it yourself."

Mo Bei: "..."

"Mom, why didn't you tell me?"

"Tell you what?"

"Tell me, my family is very rich. You've seen how hard I've worked in the entertainment industry all those years, haven't you ever thought about how difficult it was for me?"

Mo Bei felt that if his parents had used all their money to invest in resources, he might have become famous long ago.

"Why should I tell you about my money, son? You need to understand one thing: what belongs to others will always belong to them, and it can never be yours."

Even if you treat my son the same way, understand?

If I'm willing to give it to you, it's an inheritance; if I'm not willing to give it to you, then it's not yours anymore.

"Young man, instead of learning how to be a decent human being, you're only thinking about money. You're as shameless as ever. Come on, let me teach you how to be a decent human being."

Mo Yan immediately took out a whip and prepared to hit someone.

"Mom, what are you doing?"

"Spare the rod and spoil the child. Although you're a bit old and it might not be as effective, it doesn't matter. I'll just give you a few more beatings."

Mo Bei tried to run away, but Mo Yan grabbed him and threw him to the ground.

Mo Bei watched helplessly as his mother lashed out with her whip.

"hiss"

Mo Bei gasped in pain, a burning sensation spreading across his leg. He knew his leg was definitely swollen and he might not be able to walk for a while.

"Mom, you're crazy! I'm your son!"

"I'll teach you to disrespect your mother." Another lash followed.

"I'll teach you to be an ingrate." Another lash of the whip.

"I'll teach you to be heartless." Another lash.

"I'll teach you to have no sense of right and wrong!" Another lash.

"I'll teach you to be selfish." Another lash.

Mo Bei was so badly beaten that he couldn't stand up.

Mo Yan went straight to find some ointment and applied it to his wound. It wasn't out of pity; it was to reduce the swelling, but that was all it would do. The rest would hurt even more.

It worsens the pain. It looks better on the outside, but it still hurts inside.

"Son, don't make your mother angry."
