Chapter 1859 Arranged Marriage 6

Without further ado, Mo Yan started to work. If it weren't for the fact that this kid still had work to do, Mo Yan wouldn't have been so gentle.

A few days later, when they returned from selling tofu in the county town, they heard that Li Qian had been sent by the old lady to work as a maid, and that the family was selling land and preparing to leave the village.

That's a bit strange. Why would this family want to leave?

This is their hometown, where they have their land and houses. If someone like the old lady is willing to leave, it means they must have been given a lot of money, or even threatened, otherwise the old lady would not have left.

Mo Yan suddenly felt that she should take a look at that job posting place. It wasn't anything in particular, but something just felt off, and she had to go check it out.

After selling tofu, Mo Yan went to a place that looked like a normal place to learn embroidery, but the people there didn't seem to have very good skills.

It's not quite at the level of perfection, yet you can still teach others!

That's a bit outrageous.

What does this mean? It means that this is not the most important thing about this place.

Mo Yan didn't see Li Qian either. Every girl here was very serious. They were focused on their embroidery, stitch by stitch, and they looked so hardworking. But their eyes were empty, and there was so much missing in them.

"May I buy a handkerchief?"

Mo Yan looked at the wall and told them she wanted to buy a handkerchief.

They were naturally willing, and quickly agreed on the price, handing the handkerchief to Mo Yan.

After receiving the money, Mo Yan paid and left.

Then I glanced in the direction of the backyard, but didn't find anything.

Of course, Mo Yan also transformed into other people's faces and asked those girls who went home.

"Did you choose to do embroidery here willingly?"

They all nodded, saying it was their own choice, "We're willing, we're willing."

They all said they were willing, and if their eyes hadn't looked so empty, perhaps Mo Yan would have believed them.

The biggest problem is that the place doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it.

If the female lead were alone, Mo Yan wouldn't care at all, but she glanced at the handkerchief in her hand, clearly indicating that this wasn't just the female lead's problem.

After Mo Yan returned, she told Tan Zi'an to rest early, "You don't need to sell tofu tomorrow morning, so you don't need to do it today."

"Why?" Tan Zian's first reaction was not to be happy that he could finally rest, but to wonder why his mother suddenly said she was not going to do it anymore.

"School's starting soon, so you should focus on your homework for a few days. I want to go shopping too, is that okay?"

Tan Zian: "..."

"Yes, Mother..." Tan Zian knew he had asked the wrong question!

Then Mo Yan tossed him a few books, "Read these books quickly, and memorize them within seven days, right?"

Tan Zian: "???"

Tan Zian looked at the textbook, at the guide to making bean products, and then his lips twitched. "Mom, I probably can't do that..."

"Can't do it?" Mo Yan snorted coldly, "You have to do it, even if you can't!"

Yeah, I think some people's butts should be ripped open.

Tan Zian: "..."

My mother is always like this, threatening him every day, boohoo, but he's just scared, what should I do?

Tan Zian obediently took the books back. He was determined to finish reading them today. He had almost memorized the rest and then discovered that there were a few other books about different topics. His eyes lit up, and he no longer felt wronged!

...

Mo Yan returned to the county town and arrived at the wealthy family's house. After entering, she found the courtyard very quiet, so quiet that it seemed as if everything had stopped, including life itself.

Mo Yan wandered around the courtyard and finally realized something was wrong. There seemed to be a barrier around this place. Just as she was about to take action, an old man appeared. Looking at the little girl in front of him, he asked with great confusion, "Whose child are you? Why are you here?"

Mo Yan's trick is an illusion; if he can't see it, then that's his problem.

Mo Yan looked around and smiled, a very happy smile, holding a bamboo stick in her hand, and then looked at him.

"I got lost in the middle of the night, can't I just wander around here?"

The old man naturally didn't believe it; who would come to this place for no reason?

“Young lady, you’ve come to someone else’s house. That’s not right.”

The old man gripped the magical artifact tightly in his hand; he had to break through this place.

"Alright, I've been discovered. I came here to see what's in this place. Old man, you look quite venerable, why are you guarding such a place?"

"Are you some kind of demon or monster in disguise?"

Old Man Qingfeng's lips twitched. How could he be a demon or monster? This little girl is going to drive me crazy.

"Little girl, you're here to find out what happened, right?"

Qingfeng now understood that the little girl wasn't a demon guarding the place; she was probably here to investigate, just like him.

"I'm not a little girl."

Mo Yan removed the illusion and returned to her original appearance; this old man was not a bad person.

Old man: "!!!"

The old man stared at Mo Yan in shock, unable to believe that this woman had performed a miraculous transformation right in front of him!

"What kind of magic did you just use? Why couldn't I see your true face?"

Mo Yan glanced at him calmly and said lightly, "Isn't this just a basic illusion? How long have you been here? Haven't you noticed anything wrong with this place?"
