Mo Yan stopped, her face stiff, her eyes panicked, and she nervously clutched her clothes. She looked very nervous.
"Why would you ask that, sister? Who told you that?"
Seeing Mo Yan's expression, Mo Hua knew that her younger sister was a little scared. "Don't be afraid. It's because your sister-in-law heard that you got married in the countryside. I'm telling you, you can't do anything foolish."
The college entrance exam is coming up next year. Study hard and you can come back.
"I disagreed with you going to the countryside back then. It's not like our family couldn't find you a job. Your older brother and Dad insisted on letting you gain experience; it was really going too far."
Mo Hua held the girl's hand and noticed her palms were sweaty. She couldn't tell if it was from fear, or from homesickness. Or perhaps she really was...
"You didn't really get married, did you?"
Mo Hua looked at Mo Yan in surprise and disbelief, trying to see something in the girl's eyes.
"No, something just happened." Mo Yan lowered her head and shook her head repeatedly, her palms slightly sweaty.
Seeing the girl's expression, I knew I couldn't ask any more questions.
"I won't ask anymore, let's talk about it when we get home."
Mo Hua brought her younger sister home. Mo's mother had already prepared dinner, and her eyes immediately welled up with tears when she saw her little girl.
The little girl stood at the doorway, looking around uneasily, as if she didn't belong here.
She was very nervous and even felt uncomfortable.
"Yan Yan." Mo's mother quickly came over and grabbed Mo Yan's hand. "Yan Yan, how come you've lost so much weight?"
Mo Yan carefully looked up and saw her mother's worried gaze. Her mother had tears in her eyes, as if she had a thousand words to tell her.
The reason Mo Yan acted the same way as the original owner was to find the person behind her. Knowing that finding such a master to deal with her must mean she had some ulterior motive.
But as someone with great fortune, only by treating her well can one have good luck. So why the scheming?
She didn't trust anyone here, whether it was Aunt Mo, Mo Hua from earlier, or that older brother and sister-in-law.
The blood of blood relatives sounds somewhat ironic.
"It's okay. Although I've lost weight, I've learned a lot of things and I'm stronger now."
Mo Yan took a step back imperceptibly, and Mo's mother stiffened. In the past, her daughter would hug her and act coquettishly whenever she came home, but in just one year, she... pushed her away.
"Yan Yan, come and eat! Your brother and sister-in-law knew you were coming back, so they went to buy some snacks. They'll be back in a bit."
Look, all the dishes I made are your favorites, including your favorite steamed rice cake.
Their staple foods are steamed buns and steamed cakes.
Mo Yan glanced at the dishes and then looked away. "Let's wait for them to come back."
“Your dad had work today and didn’t come home, but he said he’ll take you out to play tomorrow. He’ll go wherever you want to go.”
Looking at her daughter's clothes, which seemed a bit old, Mo's mother felt she had to take her to buy new ones.
"No need, he has work to do. I can go out for a walk by myself."
Mo Yan released her spiritual power; there was nothing wrong with the house, and if there really was a problem, it wouldn't be here.
"Okay," Mo's mother suddenly felt powerless; her daughter's estrangement left her at a loss. Her daughter had become distant from him.
Mo Yan's older brother, Mo Xi, and Fang Miao returned quickly, carrying many things in their hands.
