Chapter 6 The Loyal Dog King and the Village Doctor 6

The next morning, sunlight shone into the house through the window. Chi Yu opened his eyes and felt the warmth brought by the sunlight, and his mood became cheerful.

It is obviously the same sun as before, but my mood is different now, and I feel that the sun now is particularly warmer.

He walked into the yard and saw Tang Wan drying herbs, and a smile unconsciously appeared on the corner of his mouth.

He approached, his face filled with curiosity: "Sister, did you pick all these herbs yourself?"

Tang Wan looked back at him and nodded: "Yes, these are all collected from the mountains. They are all very precious herbs. If I sell them to a clinic, I can make a lot of money."

"Sister, why don't you open a clinic of your own?"

Tang Wan was clearly wearing a veil, but Chi Yu swore that he could see helplessness on her face.

"Opening a clinic doesn't cost money. How can I have so much money?" She said this while her hands moved quickly without stopping.

"Then can you teach me some knowledge about herbs?" Chi Yu looked at her, his eyes full of expectation.

If he could also identify herbs and sell them in a clinic, he would be willing to give all the money to his sister. Then, she could open a clinic of her own.

Tang Wan smiled and said, "Okay, if you want to learn, I will naturally teach you." She didn't ask him what he wanted to do, but just agreed casually.

Chi Yu looked at her clear eyes and suddenly didn't dare to look directly at her. He felt his heartbeat suddenly quicken a few beats, so fast that he didn't react before he was interrupted by Tang Wan's enthusiastic voice.

"Look at this, this is Cassia seed, this is Polygonum multiflorum, this is Astragalus, and this is Licorice..." She talked incessantly, as if she didn't notice at all that Chi Yu had lost his focus.

Her face became softer in the sunlight, and even her hair glowed slightly. Chi Yu couldn't help but ask, "Sister, can I see what the lower half of your face looks like?"

Tang Wan's smile faded a little, and she looked him straight in the eyes: "Do you care about my appearance?"

Chi Yu knew that she had misunderstood him, his face turned pale, and he hurriedly shook his hands: "I, I didn't mean that, I just felt that we had known each other for some time, and I wanted to see my sister's true face."

Tang Wan lifted the hem of her skirt and looked down at him condescendingly: "But I don't want to. Are you going to force me?"

Chi Yu looked at her blankly, but quickly reacted: "I won't, I won't force you, I'm just a little curious, if you don't want to, then forget it."

Tang Wan snorted coldly, which was considered as forgiving him. Chi Yu immediately breathed a sigh of relief. It was a close call. It was really scary when his sister was angry.

In this way, Chi Yu learned some knowledge about herbs from Tang Wan. He was full of curiosity and interest in these herbs. Compared with those so-called Zhihu knowledge he had learned in the palace before, this was more interesting.

He had been studying with Tang Wan for more than half a month and was already able to identify most common herbs. Tang Wan praised him for his talent.

Chi Yu had never been praised so directly before. In the past, in the palace, his mother never praised him, and his father was also a taciturn man who never said anything nice.

The teacher was a strict old man who only punished but never rewarded. So when he heard these words, he couldn't control himself and blushed from his face to his ears. He looked very angry.

He didn't even know where to put his hands and feet, so he pretended to be very busy, walking around the room for a long time, touching and looking here and there, and it took him a while to calm down.

Tang Wan found it funny, but she also knew that he was probably shy, so she stopped making jokes to tease him. He was very thin-skinned, so she didn't want to bully him too much.

Time flies. It has been two months since Chi Yu came here.

On this day, Tang Wan was preparing to go out to collect herbs, and Chi Yu also wanted to go with her. Tang Wan, considering his health, asked him to stay at home, but he insisted on going and vowed that he had recovered a lot. Tang Wan had no choice but to agree to his request.

The two came to the mountain. While picking herbs, Tang Wan explained to Chi Yu the characteristics and uses of various herbs. Chi Yu listened with great interest and asked some questions from time to time. Tang Wan also answered them patiently.

Just as the two were picking herbs, they suddenly heard a scream not far away.

Tang Wan and Chi Yu immediately ran towards the direction of the sound and found a woman lying on the ground, her face pale, holding her stomach, and looking very painful.

Tang Wan hurried forward and asked her what happened. The woman said with difficulty: "I... my stomach hurts, I don't know what's wrong."

Tang Wan checked the woman's condition and found that she might have eaten something bad, so she asked Chi Yu to take out a herb from the medicine basket and asked the woman to chew it and swallow it.

After a while, the woman's complexion gradually recovered and the pain was much relieved. She looked at Tang Wan gratefully and said, "Thank you, doctor. If it weren't for you, I don't know what to do today."

Tang Wan smiled and said, "It's okay, as long as you're okay."

The woman thanked her profusely, and then thanked Chi Yu beside her: "You are the husband of this doctor, right? Thank you very much too."

When Chi Yu heard this, he was stunned for a moment, then his face flushed and he stammered: "I, I'm not..."

The woman found him like this amusing and teased Tang Wan, "Doctor, how can your husband be so shameless?"

Tang Wan smiled but said nothing. Seeing her silence, the woman became even more excited: "Doctor, my husband is just like yours, very thin-skinned. Is there any way to cure him?"
