Because the emperor's death was so sudden, Lin Heng began the process of succeeding to the throne before the officials could even react.

"It's nice to change things up once in a while." Lin Han was completely uninterested in what others were doing and just slowly ate her own side dish.
While they were eating, they suddenly heard footsteps outside the window. When they looked up, they saw Wei Yucheng.
"Why climb through the window when there's a door?" Lin Han said, looking at Wei Yuchen, who was taking the unconventional route.
“I’m used to it, and I haven’t been able to change it in a while,” Wei Yucheng said as he skillfully climbed over the window and walked up to Lin Han.

Wei Yucheng was very compliant with her, and after taking off his shoes, he went to rest on the bed.
