"Little kitty, come on out, there's some dried fish!" Lin Han practically lay on the ground, trying to reach the kitten, but it kept running away, determined not to let Lin Han touch it. So Lin Han had to resort to the lure method.
I took out Xiaomeng's snacks, dried fish, from my storage space and placed them outside the bushes to lure the kitten.
The kitten, which had been starving for a long time, couldn't resist the temptation of food and cautiously moved outwards.
Just when Lin Han was about to touch the kitten, it turned back and refused to eat the dried fish.
Lin Han's legs went numb from squatting, so she could only stand up and move around. Looking at the kitten in the flower bushes, she really didn't know how to lure it out.
"Why don't you just go in and catch it?" Xiaomeng suggested at the right moment.
"If I really went in, not to mention whether I could come out unscathed, this cluster of flowers would definitely be lost. I don't want to be scolded to death by the emperor," Lin Han replied.
Xiaomeng knew that the plan wouldn't work, so she just mentioned it casually. What was really useful was the cat-catching artifact she had prepared for Lin Han—catnip.
Xiao Meng conjured the catnip directly into Lin Han's hand, and Lin Han quickly understood, holding the catnip and waving it in front of the flower bushes.
No cat can resist catnip, let alone this little kitten. By the time Lin Han took out the catnip, the kitten had already come out.
Lin Han looked at the kitten that had emerged from the flower bushes and tentatively reached out to touch its head. Seeing that it did not resist, she became bolder and squatted down next to it to feed it.
"You're so cute, how could they bear to treat you like this?" Lin Han said, stroking the kitten while feeding it.
Wei Yuchen, who had arrived at the Imperial Garden, witnessed this entire scene. Seeing the arrogant and domineering Lin Han being so gentle at this moment, Wei Yuchen even doubted whether she had misjudged her.
But then Lin Han looked up and picked up the kitten, just as she ran into Wei Yuchen. She looked at Wei Yuchen in the Imperial Garden and instinctively blocked the kitten from view.
"You didn't see anything!" Lin Han said to Wei Yuchen, raising her voice after blocking the kitten.
Wei Yuchen looked at the kitten still wriggling under her sleeve, concealing the smile in his eyes, and replied with his head down, "I didn't see anything."
Lin Han left satisfied with his answer, hurrying away as if something was chasing her.
"I never expected someone like that to be so patient with animals," Wei Yucheng muttered to himself, watching Lin Han's departing figure.
As Lin Han left, she thought to herself: If I let him see another side of me step by step, then there shouldn't be too much of a problem when I change in the future.
"Poor little thing, I'll take you to get treatment." Lin Han stroked the kitten's head and said softly.
When the servants saw the princess carrying a dirty stray cat out of the royal garden, they were all very nervous, fearing that the cat would scratch the princess.
A guard stepped forward and said respectfully, "Princess, please let me hold it. Your body is of noble status, and I am afraid it will scratch you."
Lin Han waved her hand, insisting on carrying it herself. She only instructed the servants to fetch some medicine for her injuries before entering the inner hall alone.
Lin Han placed the kitten on the table, personally applied medicine to it, fed it water, and then settled it on the soft couch before stopping.
Looking at the sleeping kitten with its little pink tongue sticking out, Lin Han felt her heart melting with cuteness.
Suppressing her urge to pet the cat, Lin Han slowly walked out to the yard to bask in the sun.
