Artemisia opened her eyes, straightened up, and looked around.
She was in a room filled with metal technology and facilities.
A little further away in the room, there was a group of men tightly wrapped in hard metal shells. Although she didn't understand why they would sculpt abdominal muscles on metal protective suits, she still respected their aesthetic sense.
The man in the white coat closest to her nervously adjusted his glasses: "Can you speak? Can you understand me?"
She smiled.
Aside from her, who forcibly entered this world carrying a system that supposedly helps men conceive, the original female protagonist who was summoned here was the last girl in the entire universe.
Yes, the native women of this interstellar world have all disappeared.
She came here, naturally to save the original female lead, and incidentally to save this world that was destined for destruction.
Artemisia responded with silence, without blinking, and brought up the system's built-in skill interface.
Now she can only use one skill: menstruation.
Menstruation is a preparation for a man's impending pregnancy. The timing and duration of menstruation are related to whether the partner has menstruated before. The reaction during the first menstrual period is the most intense, and subsequent periods may be milder or more severe.
To unlock more skills, she needs to help the world become more stable, in order to draw upon the world's fortune.
Ai Cao glanced at the few grayed-out skills at the back and closed the interface with a sense of regret.
Seeing that she didn't speak, the man in the white coat nervously wiped the sweat from his face.
The door to the room opened.
“Wen, this summoning was a great success, wasn’t it? We now have two Eves.”
The man who entered the room was 188 cm tall, with shoulders like those of a double-door refrigerator.
He removed his helmet. Beneath his jet-black, tousled hair, his eyes, which could not be concealed, seemed to gleam with starlight.
No introduction needed, this must be the male protagonist from the original timeline, the guy who sees himself as Adam and the female protagonist as Eve...
The man strode confidently to the bedside, took Ai Cao's hand, and said, "This woman is mine. I'm taking her to the banquet tomorrow."
His legs trembled as he picked up the mugwort.
But Ai Cao is 1.9 meters tall. What was originally an ambiguous scene of a petite female lead nestled in the arms of a tall male lead becomes somewhat comical and laughable when their heights are reversed.
The room erupted in enthusiastic applause.
Like a victorious general, the man placed the mugwort back on the bed, raised his head, and left the room.
"Logically, you should be taken back to the castle by him," the system said hesitantly, "but he can't carry you."
"Who cares about him? Where's the female lead?" Ai Cao asked.
"Uh... there's no man in the room next to you yet." The system activated map navigation. "The first door on the right after you go out is it."
Ai Cao grunted in response and stepped barefoot onto the ground. Dr. Wen exclaimed in surprise, and five medical robots immediately rushed forward to help Ai Cao up.
"How could you show your feet! No, where are you going!" Wen shouted. "You're going to be the star cluster leader's date tomorrow!"
Ai Cao pulled the medical robot that was helping her over, pressed a few buttons on its mechanical panel, and bought a pair of shoe covers to put on her feet.
In this world without women, even the robot's warehouse doesn't have size 42 women's shoes.
Therefore, the shoes that Ai Cao wore were men's shoes.
Upon seeing the men's shoes on her feet, Wen's eyes rolled back and he fainted. Five medical robots immediately rushed forward: one gave him artificial respiration, one performed CPR, one injected him with medication, and the remaining two cheered on the working robots.
The mugwort crosses over them, performing a silent show.
The men standing by the room didn't react at all to her attempt to open the door, like a group of lifeless sculptures used specifically to display their abs.
Ai Cao tried to pry open the doorknob, but couldn't.
She dragged Wen and the three robots stuck to him to the door, pressed his hand down and tried them one by one, unlocking the door with his fingerprint.
Outside the door was still a metallic-style corridor with many abdominal muscle sculptures. Ai Cao used Wen's hand to unlock the door next door and dragged him into the room as well.
The woman sitting alone in the room looked over.
She must be the female protagonist of this world.
She sat alone on the hospital bed, her face so pale it looked like she had just recovered from a serious illness.
But Ai Cao also saw her strong arms wrapped in her hospital gown and her bright eyes.
“I thought I was the only one here,” Xia Moli said softly. “Someone just came to tell me that I need to attend a banquet tomorrow.”
Ai Cao walked to the bedside in a few steps, grabbed the robot, and bought her a pair of shoes as well. Xia Moli quickly put on the size 36 men's shoes, jumped off the bed, and stretched her body.
"Men's shoes are so comfortable," she remarked, then said seriously, "Hello, I'm Xia Moli. What are we going to do next?"
Ai Cao smiled, her eyes crinkling: "I am Ai Cao. Would you like to attend the banquet tomorrow?"
Xia Moli shook her head: "No. I want to go home."
Ai Cao thought for a moment and said, "You probably can't go home for the time being." She flipped through the world view sent by the system and said, "Because you were summoned here—meaning they paid enough to buy you."
Xia Moli still shook her head: "I cannot be bought, I am who I am."
"Well said." Ai Cao took two guns from the hands of the abs-sculpted man who was as still as a dead man, and handed one of them to Xia Moli. "Shall we go?"
“Let’s go.” Xia Moli glanced at the abs sculpture, then frowned at the gun in her hand. “I can break the mental lock on the gun.”
