The already loose snowflakes shattered on the male protagonist's face, then fell onto his clothes and trousers.
Ai Cao couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Cen Yu said coldly, "Who are you?"
The male protagonist raised his hand and touched the snow that remained on his face. His handsome face was contorted with anger, turning into a gourd-like shape. He glared angrily at Cen Yu, his hand on the steering wheel clenching and unclenching repeatedly.
The male protagonist said, "We were classmates in elementary school."
He gave Cen Yu another charming smile—but instead of a red rose, he held a white snowflake in his mouth.
Ignoring the slight confusion on Cen Yu's face, he continued, "I confessed to you back then, but you rejected me. You said you wouldn't date a poor guy—now I'm not a poor guy anymore, and you have nothing."
He snorted coldly, not giving Ai Cao another glance: "Over the years, I've never seen her by your side—isn't she also waiting for you to fall on hard times? She's no different from me, and besides, only I can give you what you want."
Cen Yu sneered, then turned and whispered to Feng An.
After assessing the situation, Ai Cao clicked the button for the [Menstrual Period] skill.
Soon, the protagonist's face contorted in agony—he looked like a withered gourd past its harvest season. He struggled to roll up the passenger window, hiding his pained face inside the car.
Ai Cao glanced at her phone and said, "The car is almost here."
Cen Yu nodded slightly.
By the time a dilapidated car pulled up in front of them, the man had mostly recovered from his period. He rolled down the window again, but could only watch as they got into the car.
The car drove away quickly.
The male protagonist wanted to pursue her, but then a hot flow with a rusty smell flowed from his lower body again—he clutched his lower abdomen with a ferocious expression, gritting his teeth as he called his deputy.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Cen Yu frowned and asked, "Isn't this a private car?"
Ai Cao, who was huddled in the back seat with Feng An and Cen Yu's mother, looked up blankly and asked, "What kind of special car?"
Cen Yu snorted again.
They traveled in silence. They successfully entered the hospital, found a doctor, and bought a single bed for Cen Yu's mother.
They sat in this ordinary single hospital room.
Cen Yu asked Feng An to go buy some food—using the money Ai Cao had transferred to her. After Feng An left, she sat down next to Ai Cao and silently looked at her mother.
Ai Cao said, "Fortunately, it was just a cold. As long as you keep warm, you'll get better soon."
“I see,” Cen Yu said somewhat absentmindedly.
She thought for a moment before saying, "You probably don't know that guy from before."
The mugwort nodded in agreement.
Cen Yu said, "He ruined my father's company, then my father died, and as you can see, I have no money left—it's all frozen."
She wrapped her down jacket tighter around herself. The private hospital room had air conditioning, but she could still feel the chill coming from outside.
Cen Yu ignored Ai Cao's reply and continued, "I thought about it for a long time on the way here, but I still couldn't remember who you are or why you appeared here to help me."
She turned to look at the mugwort, her gaze sharp: "You say you are mugwort. But who exactly are you?"
Ai Cao thought for a moment and said, "But I am just Ai Cao." She shrugged under Cen Yu's distrustful gaze and said calmly, "If I had to say, it would be that God is guiding me."
Cen Yu laughed out loud: "You believe in God?"
Ai Cao casually pulled out the few small beads around her neck and said, "I guess you can believe it."
"You're here to help me, is that also the will of your god?" Cen Yu glanced at the little creatures and asked.
"If thinking this way is acceptable to you, then think this way." Ai Cao nodded. "Anyway, it's about the same."
Cen Yu frowned again.
Feng An pushed open the door and came in carrying two large bags of takeout food. A thin layer of snow had settled on her shoulders, and her cheeks were slightly red from the cold, but she calmly placed the food containers on the table and opened them one by one.
Ai Cao said, "Let's go buy clothes first." She showed Cen Yu her three layers of thermal underwear.
Cen Yu hesitated before nodding.
They sat around the table eating together. Halfway through the meal, Cen Yu's mother, who had been unconscious, woke up and joined them for the meal.
The small table was filled with simple dishes.
After finishing their meal, Feng An began to tidy up the table and pack up the trash to throw it away.
Cen Yu sat on the edge of the bed, exchanged a few words with her mother, and then continued her previous conversation with Ai Cao.
Cen Yu said, "Although I said I didn't know him before, I have a memory of him." She said slowly and softly, "When I was in elementary school, there was a short and ugly boy who followed me to and from school. Later, I told my dad, and he found Feng An to accompany me to school."
Feng An stood calmly to one side, as if the person Cen Yu was referring to was not her.
Cen Yu continued, "Later, I transferred to a school in England and didn't come back for a long time."
“I’ve only been back in China for a month,” Cen Yu’s mother added calmly. The older woman looked at Ai Cao gently and said with a smile, “Although I still have some businesses, they are not as good as before.”
The system asked curtly, "That's it, you've brought him back to life?"
Ai Cao thought for a moment and asked, "Was Cen Yu's mother originally going to die?"
Realizing its mistake, the system whispered, "Yes."
Ai Cao pressed on: "Won't the male lead find her a doctor?"
The system whispered, "They found her. But they said it was a very serious terminal illness requiring long-term treatment; she never woke up, so the female lead went to the male lead's house..."
