Chapter 163 Mugwort (27)

This is the first time I've heard of mugwort being described this way.

She turned to look at her unusually quiet companions. But all she saw were women lying on the ground, fast asleep.

Ai Cao was silent for a moment, then asked, "Did you put them to sleep?"

Nuwa nodded with a smile.

She is the first and only God in the world. She created the world, the sky, the land, and the sea. She created all things in the world, and then molded humankind from clay and water.

The women standing next to the mugwort were already outstanding, but when facing the gods, they were still far from being worthy of respect.

She didn't even need to blow a breath; with just a thought, they all lay down.

With no one to distract her, Ai Cao relaxed considerably.

She casually sat down on the rock and asked, "What did you mean by what you just said? What do you mean by deviating from the predetermined route?"

Nuwa asked lazily, "You've already seen five different futures, haven't you?"

The mugwort nodded.

The first future she saw was the future world where Xia Moli lived.

That world had a high level of technological development, but women were treated as a "second sex" to be slaughtered. In order to reshape women's bodies, they killed all the men in the world.

The second future she saw was the Western world where Lillian lived.

That world had social classes, with those at the top oppressing those at the bottom. But within each class, women were always at the bottom. If they hadn't killed all those who might have stood in the way of the Pope and Empress, the turmoil would likely have lasted much longer.

The third future she saw was the ancient world where Songtang lived.

That world had a well-established class system. In that environment, a woman could fall into the abyss of high walls and courtyards if she took one wrong step.

The fourth future she saw was the cultivation world where Qingyun lived.

Women in that world seemed less looked down upon. But it was only seemingly so. Cultivation hadn't eradicated discrimination; powerful cultivators were all men, and even the most skilled women were merely vessels for cultivation.

The fifth future she saw was the modern world where Cen Yu lived.

She saw discrimination that was better concealed. She witnessed firsthand how women had to make a living and how much effort they had to put in so as not to stand in their way.

Nuwa said, "I heard from the ball of light that 'One begets two, two begets three, and three begets all things.'"

"The world you live in is the original 'one' of all worlds."

"Because of it, countless different little worlds have emerged."

"Do you understand what I mean?"

The mugwort nodded.

Nuwa continued, "The heroines are waiting for the answer to the question, and I am also waiting for the outcome of the bet. Are you able to change this initial 'one,' or not?"

A hint of interest flickered in her icy, vertical pupils.

Thinking of those little worlds, Ai Cao also felt a little solemn.

Rather than trying to save each small world one by one, she preferred to directly address the root cause. Since the problem stemmed from this single "one," wouldn't solving it solve everything?

Moreover, the male protagonist of this world is already dead...

Ai Cao squeezed her eyes shut and frowned as she asked, "Are there still hidden dangers in this world?"

Nuwa smiled and gave her an approving look: "Yes."

Artemisia sighed.

Artemisia carefully recalled her territory—the entire continent.

She said, "There are no problems with my current rule and regulations."

Nuwa said with a smile, "There is indeed no problem at the moment. However..."

She twitched her fingers slightly. Two clumps of water leaped from the sea surface, hovering in mid-air in front of the mugwort.

One of the pools of water automatically transformed into a 3D stereoscopic model.

Examine the mugwort closely.

It looks like an egg.

Its outermost layer is a thin layer of air shaped like an eggshell; inside is the earth and water in the form of egg white; and the innermost layer is a black yolk of unknown composition.

We have seen this model of mugwort many times in modern society.

She skillfully magnified the image with two fingers, carefully examining the land and sea separated on the protein.

She asked uncertainly, "Is the world round too?"

Nuwa laughed sharply again: "That's the truth." She stretched out her finger and pinched it gently, and the enlarged model shrank back.

You can clearly see a small egg circling around the main egg in the mugwort.

Ai Cao looked towards the horizon and asked, "Then why are you standing here holding up the sky?" She stroked her chin solemnly, "If the sky were to collapse, this place wouldn't be the first to fall."

“And didn’t I jump into that hole?” Ai Cao suddenly remembered and asked, “You said you didn’t have to hold up the sky anymore.”

Nuwa's gaze shifted subtly.

Seeing that she didn't speak, Ai Cao couldn't get an answer out of her.

Artemisia could only ask, "What are the hidden dangers?"

Nuwa no longer needed to hide anything from this. She said, "It comes from other continents and planets." With a flick of her finger, the model depicting the mugwort thoughtfully changed its color.

Except for the continent she was currently on, all other continents had turned gray. Even outer space, which was invisible and intangible with current technology, had turned gray.

Nuwa said, "These places may develop into patriarchal societies."

She casually stated a fact: "If you don't optimize your current social structure before they attack, you'll be wiped out."

Artemisia rested her chin on her hand and said, "So I haven't ruled the world yet; this is not the end."
